The patience and teaching techniques the instructor has continues to impress me every time we visit. We have a very busy 5 year old that needed to improve his focus and discipline, In summary you will not be disappointed with the lessons the team provides for your kids. The private lessons available are also a plus.

Sensei and family have a love for martial arts, which filters down to the students, including myself. I was very nervous starting out - I knew zero going in. However, no need to worry, all were welcoming and patient with beginners. I like how they incorporate different disciplines (ie weapons, self defense, sparring), with expertise in all of them. I am learning about more than just how to fight, but about confidence, persistence and respect for others and myself. If you're on the fence about trying it out, don't hesitate. Great lessons, the right amount of workout, disziplin and Martial Arts. I had my 11 year old join about a year ago and it helped him with his confidence and coordination. I have also joined recently and enjoy the lessons very much.

Mr. Basham and his crew are great instructors. They're very knowledgeable and patient with the students.

Lion Martial Arts is amazing! My whole family takes lessons, including myself! I have a daughter with Down syndrome and we have been doing private lessons for a year now and I don't think we could have found a better coach! My daughter is excelling and excited about coming each and every week. We love his style, and manners, and we have learned so much!!

We are foster parents and have witnessed the difference attending Lion Martial Arts has made in the lives of our foster children. The instructor is great with the students and values each and every child. He is passionate about martial arts and is very knowledgeable. He has taught our child how to become more confident and focused. I recommend this school , as it has been a blessing to our child.

This place is a great school to take the little ones… he is an amazing person and instructor… he is very patient and kind to all the children and parents that I have seen him interact with. My daughter has learned so much in just the short time of being there. He teaches respect and discipline.

My husband and daughter take classes at Lion Martial Arts. Seeing the growth in my daughter's self-control, skills, and self-esteem has meant the world to me. Joel was amazing. He really engaged with the students no matter the age and was sure to include all students in each activity. He worked to help the correct any mistakes along the way and had alot of patience even when kids got distracted. I can see kids growing and learning alot from him classes ♡

When the LMA was first offered in chanute my son was excited! We made it a family ordeal (back when kickboxing and tai chi were available.) As the year has went on we have grown to love and appreciate everything Mr. Basham has done for our son. He is mk ore confident in himself and he loves going to class. I absolutely love the fact that he treats all the children equally and will help them when it is needed. Mr. Basham is also very easy to communicate with and he always helps where and when he can. He is understanding. We have been apart of the LMA for almost a year and we plan on being apart of it for years to come. His passion has been shown and so has his hard work and my son (along with the other children) see it and it inspires them. We always recommend going and trying out the classes!!!

Kids first experience with karate. They enjoyed it. The cost is pretty high especially for the family rate. While a discount is given, its not a truly beneficial amount. The owner is super nice and very good with kids.

I have known the owner and his family for years. He has always been kind and considerate. I know a few of the students at the school and i have enjoyed watching them grow and become more self confident.

Joel and the team have been AMAZING for the family!!! They have had some bumps, but that is life!! I'm SUPER GLAD we stayed and adults acted the way they should!!!

My kid loves going to class twice a week. I love that he is being more active, learning something new, and getting better at listening and following directions.
