Ruark West Campground

Right next to the lake, the campsite was well kept spent 5 days tent camping at a-21 campsite very well shaded by trees injoyed every moment fishing relaxing and cooking dinner on the BBQ pit absolutely love it

This camping area without a doubt was one of the most peaceful places to camp we've been in a long time. The facilities were adequate and clean. The one thing I would suggest check the wind before you put up your tent. 😉😮😁

They have good rest rooms and showers. A nice playground for the kids great lake views and Campground attendants now us by name. It's a great place to just escape And get away love it

Great campground in the Ozarks on Stockton lake. Very rural area with little cell reception. Stockton is a great lake. I grew up here as a local and the lake never disappoints.

Electricity included at each site (except on primitive sites). There are water sources for filling tanks, but not individual water hook ups at each camp slip. There are sites available right next to the lake with a great view, but book early soon as possible they tend to fill up fast

Bathroom facilities are nice. They do have hot water, but on busy weekends can run out. 2 different choices- there's a bathroom shower house that is separated into male and female with 2 shower stalls and and 2 toilets (toilet not ADA compliant though i believe 1 of the showers and sinks are). Then there is another shower house super close by that has 4 individual gender neutral/family/handicap rooms that are self contained with a shower/toilet/sink. There is plenty of toilet paper but no soap (so bring your own)

There is a playground.

Nice grassed area in the middle of the camp slips that would be nice for outdoor games like frisbee or corn hole (if you bring the games)

Short drive away there is a convenience station where you can get ice, pizza, ice cream.

There is a swimming beach nearby.

My wife and I go camping all over Missouri and this camp ground was by far one of our favorites. A beautiful setting right on the water. Great staff and nice and clean bathrooms and showers. Far enough away from civilization but not to far in case you need to run to town for something. Will definitely be back many more times.

STAY AWAY!
Dogs roamed free with no leash or even supervision growling and barking at us in our own camp site. Multiple generators ran all night long for three nights straight while we were there. Even though we saw the park host and sheriff driving around nothing was done. There was little to no hot water to take a shower, could be due to grown adults turning on the hot water faucets and letting them run (caught a woman "smoking" in the restroom and when she scurried out she had left the shower and sink faucets hot water on). Another time the shower houses were flooded because someone went in and turned the hot water on in both the mens and womens causing them to be inches deep in water. There is no way I would bring children here or go here to relax.

Nice campground. Had a water front site with no shade. Playground is small but right in the middle of sites so you can watch the kids play from your site. The restrooms were older but clean. LOTS of dogs. Everyone kept their dogs under control. The only picnic area I looked at was at the swimming beach. It was clean. The water was really down so there was a huge beach without much room to swim.

Amazing time with the family always the highlight of the year for me. Getting the time with my parents,brother,sister and the 3 nephews and 2 nieces would not trade it for the world

one of the cleanest camp grounds in the area its way off the main road and very low key. the views are beautiful! most of the people there were older but hey that makes the campground better because at least there wasn't any loud wild parties and was very relaxing! we will camp here again for sure!

Love camping here. Not a dull moment. We camp with other family members.
Just wish Stockton would open up some more camp grounds. They have the places to do it. It is getting very hard to get a campsite. Beautiful Lake .

Beautiful quiet campground. Many sites close to the water. Lots of shade. But be prepared to use your 50a to 30a adapter because there is no 50 amp service. And you have to fill your fresh water holding tank before you park. Love it

Always have a great time here! Calm and relaxing. There is a playground for the kids and shower houses and bathrooms are kept clean!

Gorgeous campground. Wish we had got one right on the Lake. They were spectacular views. Be aware that it is a 6 pm check in and check out.

Beautiful place to camp... Full electric hookup, I just wish it had water hookup, but there are water filling stations throughout the park. Clean restrooms too (at least at the time we visited).

Beautiful campground. Family goes here a ton through the year. Typically very peaceful. Wonderful lake and amazing fishing. Deer come through the park all the time to.

We had a blast at site 50&51! Close 2 the water&across from sink and outhouse(which had t,p&germ x) and short walk 2 showers(water real hot so bring bucket 4 little ones 2 get cold water from sink)

Been camping here for years. Every spot is a good spot. Clean campground. Clean facilities. Great people. Right on fhe lake. Will camp here for many years to come.
