Katy Trail Boonville Trailhead

There's a nice museum and shop with restrooms and a cold drinking fountain right on the trail and a coffee house nearby. Be riding eat to West or the long slow inclines might kill you heading right out of Boonville (mile marker 106 is death Hill)

A nice little section of the Katy Trail right next to the casino and historic downtown. Perfect for a day trip for sightseeing.

I like this historic town. It was pretty busy as we were riding the Katy Trail on Memorial Day weekend and there were lots of people out. The trailhead is well maintained and near a couple small museums that are well done. Fun weekend.

Whether you're walking jogging or biking it's the Katy trail the old MKT a lot of history on that trail and people from all over the world come to experience it. If you find yourself in boonville make sure you check out the old train bridge.

The Boonville Trailhead for the Katy Trail is located in a somewhat central location to the town. It sits two blocks west of Main St. (highway 40) and one block south of the Isle of Capri Casino. The trailhead itself has a small but extremely informative exhibit that details the origins of the Boonslick Region, as well as a small public restroom.

It's within walking distance of downtown, the Casino and attached hotel, as well as Harley Park. Main Street is two blocks away, and offers multiple restaurants as well as ships. Nearby lodging includes the Casino and Hotel Frederick, as well as various bed and breakfasts. Camping there is also allowed, if I'm not mistaken.

Travelling west from the trailhead will take you to Harley Park and its view from Lookout Point- as well as the various baseball fields, playgrounds, and shelters. The shelters themselves have public barbecue grills.

If you're staying at the Casino, the trailhead is well worth checking out, as KATY trail state park is a wonderfully well maintained nature trail. If you're passing through Boonville, be sure to check out the area. Lookout Point at Harley Park overlooks the Missouri River bottoms, and the view is hard to beat- and has been appreciated by the inhabitants of the area for thousands of years. (There are prehistoric burial mounds there)

Downtown Boonville is also very nice, and more than accommodating to cyclists. I will say if you're looking to camp in the area, I would recommend the KATY Roundhouse just across the river, in Old Franklin. The trail runs through it, and it has better campsites and bathrooms.

What a beautiful trail in lush forests and passing historic buildings. Would love to come back and explore on a day that is under 3 digit temps.

We biked from boonville to pilot grove. We always have to check out the katy bridge.

Quiet. Felt we were in a safe neighborhood and close to a bakery and cafe. Good stop with a campervan overnight.

This was one of our favorite places on the Katy trail. From Sedelia there was a long slow uphill grade and it was good to get here and stop for lunch

This trail is just amazing. 260 some miles. I'd love to cycle it start to finish. New bucket list item.

BOONEVILLE PARK CHANGED MY LIFE. I got engaged here—she ended up leaving me at the altar, but I’ll always have the memories I made here when we were in love.

Great attractions. Kind folks and great atmosphere. I recommend coming here for a stop.

Awesone place to grab some history and catch a little excerise! Plenty of maps and brochure of all kinds of fun things to do :)

Great historic spot. Lots to explore on trails around it.

This kt trail spot has water, and a bike/tool station is located a 100m up the trail at the old Depot.

Katy Trail is always well maintained. It was not crowded at this access point.
