Penza's Pies at the Red Barn

I finally found this place again after I randomly stopped once 2 years ago to buy pie for a friend who said it was the best they've ever had. Evelyn is so, so sweet and the 5 fruit pie was even sweeter. The fruit flavor is sweet but not sugary and the buttery crust is so tasty. Can't wait to go back again!

Tucked away on Rt 206.

Selections of Pot Pies, Fresh Eggs when available, and home to one of the best blueberry pies you've ever eaten. Hints of cinnamon adorn a rich array of blueberries and a flakey crust that doesn't detract from the filling. You will go for one serving, and then another, it's that good. If you are able to withstand the beauty of the pie, I highly recommend it chilled in the fridge. One of the best pies I've ever eaten.

I'd call it a hidden gem, but it's been featured on the New York Times in an article from 2002, highly worth the read. The pictures show a store that is as perfect now as it was then.

It's a perfect compliment to the drive.

Penza's Pies at the red barn is like no other! The sit down country breakfast, the orange juice and the coffee is ALWAYS fresh! We've been coming here since I was a little girl and Evelyn welcomes us like family, every single time. Visit her today, and DON'T forget your pie! My personal fave is and always has been the five fruit!

Blueberry pie as absolutely amazing. So incredibly balanced. Not too sweet or tart.

Nice relax atmosphere, the food is a little pricey but very good. You can tell they take pride in the food. The service was good and the woman I'm guessing who owns the cafe was very friendly. It is cash only but they do have an ATM machine inside. Amazing pies and quince. I've have always passed this cafe and finally stopped, so happy I did. My new place to get pies .

Wow, what a gem! The pies are out of this world, so fresh with tons of fruit!
Our lunch was wonderful. Smashed meatball open-face sandwich. (my husband and I shared that) with fresh cucumbers and a a fresh, tasty, cranberry, apple, orange chutney.
The squash soup was also so lovely with a thick, mild spice texture.
The store was decorated so nice but I wasn't sure if any of it was for sale or just decor.

I'm no professional photographer so my pics really don't do these gorgeous pies justice. But, we stopped by today and took home these beautiful pies to our 4 teenagers. I am super Mom now! They are amazing!!! We will be back for sure!!!

Evelyn is the BEST. Her pies are delectable! The pies are not overly sweet, the crust is thin and the little crumb top is divine. I love trekking out to see her and can’t wait to try all her other baked goods!

Sensational apple pie (definitely gift-worthy); as an afterthought I picked up a blueberry muffin and it was incredible. For baked treats, in my book there is no other place!

One of those hidden NJ gems, Penza’s pies are the best in the state. The atmosphere on the farming property is early 1900s movie posters and nostalgia mixed with Ms. Penza’s kindness and love for her craft. She is super busy, yet takes the time to tell you everything you’d want to know about your potential pie purchase. From ricotta to pumpkin and back to apple with cherry, you can’t pick a bad pie. My personal favorite is not a pie at all, but one of the many side desserts she makes to compliment the wide assortment of fruit/cheese goodness. Ms. Penza even gave me an extra “Penza’s Pies” sticker that I now have on my guitar case at home…because she’s a pie rockstar!!!

This place is amazing! We found it randomly and loved it! The fall corn maze is fun and they are having a fall fest on September 17th 2022 that will include hayrides to the pumpkin patch and pumpkin painting. Make sure to try some pie at the café! It's delicious!!!

Amazing pies- both savory and dessert. The owner is so nice! All of their products are great. Not at all near where I live but any time I'm traveling close by I have to stop.

This was not only the most beautifully crafted pie I've ever seen, the taste was absolutely incredible!!

Also we were driving back home from sea isle and we call to see what time they closed, but weren't going to make 5pm in time. The owner Evelyn, stayed open an extra 20 mins when she was about to close so we could get some goodies before going back to PA. We will definitely be back!

The place is extremely beautiful, the flowers, the place, it’s such a calming vibe, the food is truly delicious, im so excited every time I come here to eat I get so happy, you can see them truly trying their best, but I 100% recommend going here

Found this little jewel as we were driving along the road, the quaintness of an old country store drew me in. The food all prepared by grandma and served by her granddaughter was just as special as the rustic and homey atmosphere. Their peach pancakes with real maple syrup were a perfect 10. Her homemade pies are a work of art. My only regret is that it is a 90 minute drive from where I live

Amazing pies and apple cider donuts!! Maze was fun and pretty challenging!! Definitely coming back!
