Went for dinner and can’t recommend enough! I loved how it's tucked away on a side street so it’s away from all the shore chaos. My husband said the oysters were the best he’s ever had. We both got the lobster roll and it was delicious. The lobster was so fresh and not covered up so you could really taste it. The fries were yummy too! Great service on top of it all. We can’t wait to go back and grab something from the market.

Found this place while driving and noticed their takeout menu sign off the street. $15 fish and chips. They were just about closed, so I planned to try when open. I wanted fish and chips before I left the shore, but most places use flounder...I prefer haddock or cod. I almost went to a boardwalk fish restaurant but after reading reviews that people claimed the fish was already frozen fish filets, I figured it would be best to get from an actual fish market. Good choice.
The fish was breaded, not fried, and perfect. Fries great. Kind of firm though. The coleslaw was homemade but felt it was lacking vinegar and bland. The tartar sauce was also homemade and I actually liked it... I don't find tartar sauce appealing. I mixed some in the coleslaw and it was better.

The restaurant is on a back street in the actual town of Cape May Courthouse. They also offer outdoor dining in a pleasant Cafe like setting, so if you want good fish and chips and also a quiet reprieve from the boardwalk/hotel/ocean vacationers everywhere, this is your place- however I was there around 7:20 and they close at 8.

It is a take-out only restaurant, but there are tables and chairs under a patio to enjoy the meal.

We were looking for a lunch place on our way back from Avalon, and we are so glad we picked Matthew's, since most other places are closed on Tuesday in Store Harbor/Avalon. Matthew's is not only seafood restaurant, they also sell fresh seafood items, locally produced fruit and vegetables.

We got the Flonder & scallops and fish tacos. Scallops were cooked to perfection. Fish tacos were huge, full of fish, green veggies and sauce. Each dish came with side of sauce and coleslaw. We also bought blueberries, mango, salmon and halibut from the store.

Awesome seafood market just outside Stone Harbor/Wildwood. It’s our family’s go to for take out broiled seafood platters or fresh shucked oysters, shrimp cocktail, and sides to enjoy at the Bay house. Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable and stocks some of the freshest seafood you can find in the area. Don’t miss the local Cape May scallops and Delaware Bay oysters.

This place is a hidden gem. You won’t find fresher scallops. The “bowls” are wonderful. The staff is super friendly and the place exudes a cool welcoming vibe.

We got their lunch bowls and couldn't be happier! Matthews uses top notch ingredients and they are prepared individually rather than in advance. So quality is always perfect!

We had salmon, lentils, spinach, mushrooms, radishes, scallions... All perfect! 🤩. Sooo food we forgot to take photos!

We also shop here regularly for their fresh local seafood. Highly recommend Matthews 🦈

Really fresh and reasonably priced raw (take home and cook) seafood. I was very impressed by the quality. Swordfish was amazing.

Best kept secret off island! Great quiet lunch, food was excellent and tuna cooked perfectly. The rice and roasted corn side was delicious!

We have ordered takeout from Matthews twice now and the food and service is phenomenal! Since takeout has become more popular during the pandemic, they have perfected the process by offering outside pickup.

The staff is super friendly making you feel appreciated and welcome (even without seeing their face behind the masks).

Both meals we’ve had were delicious! The crab cakes and scallops are highly recommended. Also the create your own bowls were top notch! Generous portions. Great price and quality. You have gained another loyal customer who looks forward to dining again soon!

Cold superb oysters in Cape May County

My husband and I always get their platters. He gets fried shrimp, which are lightly breaded, I usually get broiled scallops. So good! Their french fries are really good, and so is their tarter sauce.

I chose this place for their local seafood and nice selection of farm veggie sides! NJ has a lot of fresh seasonal items to offer and these guys def embrace that. We ordered crab cakes, shrimp, scallops, and New England clam chowder. And the sweetest lobster rolls! What stands out about their dishes is they’re full of flavor and prepared thoughtfully. They don’t need to overload w breading or other add-ins. Just highlighting their quality ingredients. All healthy and delicious. Great seafood, service, and the only place I’ve found in the Cape May/Wildwood area that doesn’t use styrofoam take out boxes! Love and appreciate that so much!

I love Matthews Seafood. I live in CMCH and love their healthy bowls and fresh fish options. Their fried seafood is also great because it’s not greasy and heavy. I buy their raw scallops the most tho. I love that you can buy everything to make a whole meal there including vegetables. Great business in our little CMCH town.

Crab cakes ARE TO DIE FOR!!

Flash forward 8 months later. I got their Crab Cakes raw to go and cook home. Seriously, no other place I'd go to for Crab Cakes! Amazing. I was up north a few weeks ago and ordered crab cakes on a menu somewhere else and was so disappointed. No other place compares to this place. So yummy

I stopped here to grab some jumbo tiger shrimp to grill. The shrimp were huge, and couldn't have been fresher.
The storefront and interior are very clean, no over decorating or anything crazy.
Their food is fantastic, the salads are crisp and delicious. The prices are fair, and easily beat any of the other local stores. They have a lot of seafood to choose from, let them cook it for you, or buy some and take it home. Either way, it is nice to have such an excellent source for seafood here in Court House.

Super fresh seafood cooked to order. Everything we had was amazing. We had steamers, fish tacos, and broiled flounder with scallops. Clean flavor of fresh catch. Not overly seasoned or sauced. They have nothing to hide.

Discovered this place a few years ago and love it. They always have a good selection of fresh seafood. The clams casino are very good also. It's our go to place whenever we're in Stone Harbor.
