The Reeds at Shelter Haven

Luxury at the shore. My family enjoyed brunch at The Reeds at Shelter Haven and everything from the atmosphere, the food and the service was a five star experience. The buffet offered everything you could want from amazing appetizers, to fresh Omelette and pancake stations. The traditional ham turkey roast beef station. Pasta options. Salmon. Baked goods and more desserts than you could dream of. The dining room was set up with beautiful white crisp tablecloths. Fresh flowers. Plates were cleared immediately when finished. The amazing staff constantly refilled your water glass, brought out mimosas and coffee. Everything was done to make sure your experience was the finest.

My organization had a dinner for 21 people in the ballroom. The room overlooked the bay and was perfect for our needs. We had a brief business meeting followed by a few speeches and the staff was extremely accommodating. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone felt as though we were the only guests in the building and were very pleased with their experience.

Our family had a private dinner party at the Roof Garden on the second floor the Reeds to celebrate my sisters retirement and birthday. The food was excellent, and the service of the event staff before and during the evening was the best service I’ve experienced in quite a long time. Attention to detail, awareness of the needs of our guests, and the genuine feeling of wanting everyone at the event to have a great time. Bravo to everyone who made this memory a special one. V. This is a late review, but my family and I dined at the Reeds for our Easter Brunch. Our server was Rachel and she was fantastic. So kind and accommodating. We will be back and hope to see Rachel again.

My son's wedding was held at this location in April -- we could not have been more pleased with the entire event!! From the moment we pulled up to the Valet service on a chilly Wednesday afternoon and were greeted and assisted by George, the entire wedding weekend was fantastic. The rooms are superb. We stayed in the Spa building -- clean, light, fresh -- comfortable beds and every amenity you could want. Wonderful bathroom and shower. Our room had a balcony as well. Several family members as well as the bride/groom and the bride's family stayed at the hotel on Thursday and Friday nights. I took my future daughter-in-law for a drink at the hotel bar just off the lobby -- perfect service, food and beverages to kick off our stay. My husband and I later shared a salmon entree at the bar tables as well. The bartender was busy that evening but went out of her way to ensure we received top notch service. I went for breakfast before they were open yet they seated me right by a window and service & food was excellent. We hosted the couple's Rehearsal Dinner in the Crew Room just above the Stone Harbor Pizza Pub -- things could not have been any better!! Seriously -- the buffet was the best I've had at any event; salmon perfectly cooked and all the sides delicious. The bartenders were fantastic. I'd like to name a few people in addition to George and his cousin Barry with the valet service who helped us from arrival to departure -- Ceandra (pronounced "Kendra") Ashman was spot-on with event coordination from many months prior, from multiple emails from me for details of the rehearsal dinner and beyond - she is a perfect match for her position and carries a smile with each interaction. Becky and Austin - the banquet managers and Lynne at the bar, (along with the 2nd bartender whose name I cannot recall) made our evening memorable and delightful for the blending of two families, some of whom traveled quite far to be there. Colleen, the manager at the Pizza Pub, took us up to see the venue the day prior when we arrived as I had seen it only once several months ago; and thanks to Ceandra, we were able to set up at noon with a start time of 5:30 for our dinner. The day of the wedding was flawless from beginning to end. The grounds, the ceremony setup, the cocktail hour and appetizers, the wedding reception, bar and everything was perfect. I highly recommend The Reeds for any event but for what is certainly one of the most important events in anyone's life, these people deserve 10 stars. Thank you everyone at The Reeds for making our kids' event perfect!!

Everything went flawlessly from reservations to check-out. The Reeds at Shelter Haven is the perfect resort destination in Stone Harbor. We stayed here in 2023 over the July 4th holiday. The facility is immaculately maintained and likely the only hotel at the Jersey Shore that actually feels like a "luxury" property. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The staff is courteous and friendly. The outdoor bar has incredible sunset views overlooking the bay and the indoor bar has some of the best live music we've experienced.

We'll be coming back for many years to come!

Cannot recommend the Reeds enough! Danielle from guest services left us champagne for our little celebratory getaway with a sweet note. Dinner was amazing. The staff was so attentive. Room is gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

When you want to pamper yourself and truly feel exquisitely special, go stay a night at The Reeds! This beautiful boutique hotel is the Ritz-Carlton of Stone Harbor, New Jersey. You truly do not have to lift a finger. The open-air Waterfront Grill overlooking the bay provides a delightful and fun retreat from March to October. The SAX dining experience is bar none! The servers treat you as royalty! Turn down service is available, if desired. Delicious chocolate brownies are available on the nightstand and a fruit and cheese platter welcome you with a handwritten note.
The Reeds at Shelter Haven is centrally located to many shops including a Christmas Store and providing locally made crafts for Christmas decor, an Ace Hardware where the helpful hardware man will assist you in purchasing wine, and every type of pizza place, Tavern, local brewery pub, candy and pastry shops you can imagine! A 20-minute ride to the lighthouse on Seven Mile Island. Easy access to dozens of seafood and Italian restaurants.
But you don’t need to go anywhere! The food and drinks are fabulous, the service is heavenly, and the beds are so comfy you’re gonna wanna sleep in tomorrow!

We had an amazing stay at this upscale boutique hotel. The Reeds is the definition of understated elegance and the facilities are wonderful. The staff at the hotel and restaurants were kind, friendly, and helpful. The waterfront grill has an amazing sunset view with good food. Some of the food is expensive, but they have many different options - the shared salads being excellent. The rooms have a beachy feel & were clean and spotless. The beds were very comfy too - something I am very picky about. The only negative were the rooms seemed to have central air conditioning and did not go lower than 72. We were at the beach most of the day so this did not bother me unless I wanted to take a day nap. At night with the fan on high it got very cool so no complaints.

The little "extra" touches everywhere is what made the experience so great. The services they offer their guests complementary also just show how much the management cares about quality. Complementary valet parking, kayaking and paddle boarding, coffee/tea, toys/boogie boards to use, quick shuttle to the beach, beach chair and towel service, and beach snacks/water - just off the top of my head. We can't wait to come back again!

Hotel is beautiful, quaint. There are three eating options connected to the hotel the main restaurant, a taco and margarita restaurant called buckets the nachos were good selection could have been better, and then there is the pizza place the pizza was good the service was excellent my bartender was a retired gentleman that made sure I was comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful when I thought I lost an item. Good place to go

The Reeds will single handedly ensure that your wedding day is the most beautiful day of your life! From the first moment my husband and I contacted them after we got engaged the entire team was incredibly responsive and helpful. They saw us through every facet of our wedding planning journey, all the while helping us feel prepared and excited for our day. When we attended the tasting, which was absolutely phenomenal, we became very well acquainted with the team and they allowed us to explore the hotel so we could get a sense of where all the events for our wedding would take place and helped us feel extremely at ease. Months before the wedding the team really excelled in communication nailing down every detail of the day. We didn’t think it could get any better until our actual wedding day came and The Reeds went above and beyond to not only ensure that that day ran smoothly but also made us feel like they were celebrating with us. We had almost every guest tell us the food was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding and that couldn’t have been more true. We’d especially like to thank Josephine and Paul who were instrumental in making our wedding perfect and we are so grateful. We can’t recommend The Reeds highly enough. It was truly a dream come true!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at The Reeds. The customer service is outstanding. There is shuttle service to the beach, which is a 3 minute ride. One of the shuttle drivers, Scott, was a joy to interact with. He gave our kids candy with every ride and was always friendly, warm, and outgoing whenever we interacted with him. Diane was also engaging and interested to hear about our experience at the resort. Stone Harbor is a great place to visit with lots of shops, restaurants, and the best coffee at Cafe Noir!

My family and I just spent six nights at the Reeds. We had a lovely time. The customer service was fantastic, especially the beach service and concierge. Mairead and Sara were wonderful and very attentive. The rooms were clean and the spa was very nice as well. Finally, the location is great. You can walk to numerous shops and restaurants from the Reeds. We will definitely be back!

Great wedding venue. Food fabulous and service top notch

We recently photographed a wedding at The Reeds at Shelter Haven. What a BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding! Wow! The location can't be beat, the views are unreal and the reception space was so fun and intimate for our couple. My favorite feature though was probably the outdoor space for the cocktail hour overlooking sunset on the bay. This is a very unique wedding venue space and we hope to be back many more times in the future to capture weddings at this one of a kind Stone Harbor wedding venue.

My husband and I just got married at The Reeds this April! Our Wedding Day was a dream come true and we are so happy we chose The Reeds as our venue! Everyone was so kind and helpful and made the entire weekend so amazing! We had our rehearsal dinner in the roof top garden and it was truly beautiful! The best part of this venue is the staff! There are so so caring and attentive and made sure every detail was perfect for our Wedding Day! George with the valet was the absolute sweetest and made each of our guests feel so special! Thank you Leslie, our coordinator, for making every small detail I planned come to life in such a beautiful way and for making our ceremony and reception perfect! For the reception we had Paul as our Banquet Coordinator and he was so helpful and kind! Our Wedding Day was more than we could have dreamed of and The Reeds was the perfect place!

We had our wedding at the Reeds in June and it was absolutely a dream come true!!! Our wedding coordinator unfortunately left a month before our wedding but Danielle stepped up and made sure everything was perfect and what we wanted. She took the time to call us and ensure each detail was perfect. Everything was perfect from our suite to cocktail hour, reception, after party and brunch the next day. We didn’t have to worry about a thing! All of our things were also delivered to our room for us the night of our wedding and my husband and I each had a piece of our wedding cake ready for us.

My wife and I along with our daughter attended the wedding and reception of my niece at this fine establishment. In fact, our daughter and other members of our family stayed at the Reeds for the entire weekend. The entire place including the guest rooms are absolutely gorgeous.

The food choices at the reception were crab cakes and beef ribs. Both choices were the best we have ever had anywhere. The service was second to none and all the servers and employees were very bright and pleasant. They all went out of their way to be sure all the guests were being treated perfectly.

The wedding and reception went from beginning to end flawlessly and will surely provide glorious memories for the bride and groom and for all who attended.

This is definitely a 5 star establishment from top to bottom - inside and outside.

We decided to do a weekend getaway in late Feb and selected the Reeds at Shelter Haven. As expected, winter at the shore is very quiet, which is what we wanted. There were still enough establishments open to visit, and walking in town and on the beach was super peaceful. Our room was in the Spa building across from the main building. The room was very nice, well appointed, super comfortable, with plush bedding and towels. Daily and nightly housekeeping, they have not limited services as many hotels do. Cheers to the bar staff, they make wonderful cocktails (try the smoked Manhattan) and have superior wines by the glass. Next door is Stone Harbor pizza which they also operate- pizzas are OK, a bit doughy for me but still good. Ceasar salad is great. We dined in Sax Saturday eve, our waitress was excellent, we enjoyed our interactions with her. Food was very good, it’s a simple menu- steak, seafood, chicken, pasta, simple and not surprising but the food was very good. A surprise Beckstoffer blend wine by a Mendocino wine maker on the list.
The Spa was also excellent. A “salt room” for relaxation as well as his and her separate steam rooms. We each did a massage and the team was great. Bonus- free valet parking (at least in February)!
