High quality, unmatched, delicious food awaits your palate at Cafe Loren. The staff is incredibly welcoming and hyper focused on the quality of your dining experience. They were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable to my girlfriends gluten free needs without the compromise of flavor All servers are exceptionally delightful to the point where you can just tell this is a great work-place environment. I'd recommend you try something new every time you're here being every dish we've had has been some of the finest dining in New Jersey. This is the type of place I'd wait in line for if need be.

Absolutely our favorite restaurant, never once have we had a bad meal and the service is amazing! Nick has been our waiter the last couple of visits and every time we see him it is like seeing an old friend! The new menu additions this season are must have! Our favorite part of summer is our dinners at Cafe Loren!

Year after year, visit after visit Cafe Loren never disappoints. Food is superb -- house salad, Ceasar salad and oh my gosh, the pistachio- crusted goat cheese & beets! Went twice in the past four days during restaurant week...BBQ pork chop, chicken, salmon...all excellent 👍. If there was a picture in the food dictionary of pan-seared scallops, it would be the ones prepared here. Food is so beautifully plated you really do have a visual feast before you ever take a bite. Desserts=yum! Staff, to a person, are outstanding--professional, friendly, go out of their way to accommodate you. Definitely five stars, would give more if I could!

Wish I could say that things have deteriorated so people would stop going but that would be a straight -up lie. Cafe Loren - food, staff, plating - is incomparable. Truly excellent in every way, every visit. Look forward each year to as many visits as possible.

Great service, superb food, ceaser salad one best I've had, duck breast, veal dishes were done perfectly.
Our servers were right on mark, it was great evening, they have nice outdoor seating area.

This is undoubtably the finest restaurant in Avalon. We love the atmosphere, service and the food is out of this world. This is the place to take your loved one for a special occasion.

Fantastic meal and service last night! We started with a Spicy Gazpacho, followed by Chargrilled Octopus and Seared Sea Scallops, and then for the main course we had Veal Loren, Braised Short Ribs, and a NY Strip Steak special. Everything was perfectly prepared, and the service was very attentive; we even had some modifications from the kitchen for food allergies. We will definitely be returning soon!

Cozy, upscale restaurant with a larger footprint than it seems from the front. Fully enjoyed the Jersey Salad, Loren Steak (fillet), and Blueberry Cobbler. Service was prompt and food was excellent. A+

This is THE place to go in Avalon for a special meal. Romantic, delicious food, byob. We go Every time we are in Avalon! A MUST!

I took my mom here for her birthday while we were staying in Avalon. We both had great meals. I had the best- and largest!- scallops of my lifetime (and I've eaten many). I'd go back just for the scallops! Our entrees were delicious, seasoned well, and cooked correctly. I can't say enough about this little gem. Simply try it yourself, and you will not regret it!!!

Perfection! As you enter the dining room, you experience serenity. Then the waiter comes to your table with a wealth of cuisine knowledge to guide you through your dining experience. The food is amazing! We have since returned and our friends were just as impressed. It is not just a meal but an exquisite experience!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review of this place yet! My wife and I favorite restaurant in the world by far, from the staff to the ambience to the food, complete home run! When we get a chance to go here, it doesn’t matter the time, we go! 445 or 9:15…. We’ll be there!

I was so impressed with this little shore gem! The menu was fantastic, well thought out, and creative. I wanted every item! Meticulous care was taken in the presentation of everything. I could see the consistency of the plates throughout the restaurant. Our server was well informed and unobtrusive. We had the chili shrimp, the scallop appetizer, and the veal loren. Every piece of meat was cooked perfectly. As a Chef, I am not easily impressed going out. The scallops were seared and cooked perfectly, the purees smooth, the shrimp were perfection! The sauce on the veal was awesome, and the veal melted in your mouth! I will be back next year!

I am currently sitting in this restaurant after finishing a truly unforgettable meal. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Each dish exceeded my expectations. The wait staff was attentive, but not annoying. Absolutely perfect.

Superb! Our first time here. Nick and the entire wait staff were terrific, very friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the menu. Food was truly excellent! Seafood bisque was rich, just the right kick, and lots of seafood chunks. House salad very fresh, nice light dressing. Halibut was amazing, wonderful combination of flavors over saffron risotto with a couple chunks of chorizo -- an unusual accompaniment, but it worked. Veal Loren was delicious, tender, kind of a riff on veal oscar with crab and asparagus, plus shrimp. I was a little reluctant about the "garlic" cream sauce, but the garlic was very subtle and didn't overwhelm. Sat outside on what used to be a parking area, nicely set off with potted arborvitae, very pleasant! We'll certainly return and I highly recommend Cafe Loren, we love to support small, chef-owned restaurants ... great find!

One of the best dining spots on the island. The choice of meals and quality of the work done in the kitchen was fantastic. And, in this pandemic era, they did a fantastic job of curbside pick-up: you placed your order and got a time for pick-up, you drove over to the restaurant and gave them a call, and then they brought you your food. Fast, efficient, foolproof and scrumptious!!

My wife and I went to Cafe Loren for Restaurant Week some weeks back. This place did not hold back as many others do for this annual event. They put their best foot forward. The food was over the top, just wonderful. Everything was prepared to perfection. We really savored the blend of flavors with each bite. And we had as much fun eating and sharing our choices with each other as we did looking around at the presentations other tables were receiving. The service was very good too. Our server did not crowd us. But if I looked for him, there he was. It's BYOB and he was right there about three times to refill my wife's glass when empty. The owner is on hand too to chat with as she wonders keeping an eye on everything. I've heard a drawback to the Cafe Loren is that it's small. That maybe a drawback to the owners. But for us, the layout is like an “L” shape with pockets or out-coves on the sides. So it's broken up nicely with cozy romantic and fun sections to get away in, hide in or to just enjoy the evening in! We Loved It All!

Excellent! Roast duck best ever. Nice oversize table, impeccable service. A little pricey, but we'll worth it. Will definitely go back.

This is the best place in Avalon for a great dinner. Leave the kids behind grab a special bottle of wine and that special someone and enjoy. Great menu --the veal is always perfect and the Octopus is fantastic. Highly recommended. One suggestion- plan days or 1 week in advance to get your reservation.
