Sylvester's Fish Market and Restaurant

Sylvester’s is one of our favorite places to eat in Avalon, and we’ve been going for about 20 years! Lump crab includes a lot of crab for a reasonable price. Worth the trip!

This is a family staple and we were excited to go back this year. Food is no frills in that it's served in a takeout container, but it's delicious. I had the swordfish special (my first time trying it) and it was delicious and tender. We also ordered the tuna appetizer which was amazing. Service was fast and even though we had a large party (14 adults and kids) everything was correct.

King crab was delicious! Perfectly cooked, sweet, and juicy! We stopped by for dinner before driving back home after spending the day at the beach. Nice casual setting with covered picnic table seating outside. Perfect spot to eat when you’re only in town for the day, but want to get a really good seafood dinner. Even the fries were done perfectly! Very friendly staff, all following the proper safety guidelines for social distancing. We will be going back for sure!

This is my go-to place for fish in Avalon. It is a great place to bike to. They don't always have everything but the quality is great. In addition to their fish, I recommend the shrimp, and clam chowder. Check their hours before going: seasonal and may not open till 4 pm in season. Their casual dining-- picnic tables and styrofoam containers(!)-- is not for me.

Me and my family always go here on the last day of our beach holiday. We all get She-Crab soup and mozzarella sticks. We also buy a bunch extra to bring home because its just so, so good! As a person who doesn't like seafood at all, I still love this soup! If I could give this a thousand star rating i would!!

Great outdoor BYOB seafood. good for small and large parties. Love their coleslaw and their french fries. Come here to pick up shrimp and cocktail sauce too.

Crab meat cocktail was fresh and chilled then 6 clams on the half shell again very fresh and nice and chilled then shrimp and scallop platter fried. The scallops were local and breaded and cooked ti perfectiin. A++++. Nkt fancy but excellent for a fun and tasty vacation seafoid dinner.

Have eaten here at least once every summer for the past 30 years or so while on vacation in Avalon. Love the fresh food, the laid back atmosphere, and the friendly staff. Pricier than you might expect, but not overly so, and absolutely worth it.

Awesome variety of seafood and meals for the whole family. Always a great meal. You can eat in or take out! Food doesn't take very long despite the long line that forms.

We went to another seafood place for dinner and it was told as the best place around it was good then we came here and it was amazing the fish tacos were amazing the crab was good and the salmon was the best I ever had I would recommend we spent half the money we did at the other place also

Wonderful, and delicious, selections of fresh seafood sandwiches and platters. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. We love it here!

Came her with friends during our vacation. Both times we had Paul and both times he was an awesome server with a great sense of humor. Delicious crab!

The best place to eat hands down. Only criticism is the use of so much styrofoam. Otherwise, fantastic place.
