I am new to the area and for the past year had been having drainage problems in my front yard. Floyd county storm water identified the problem but my problem was not a high priority item. To my delight a few weeks ago storm water and the highway department decided to fix the problem. I cannot say enough about the 3 main men from the highway department, Jeff,Dennis and John. They explained every thing that was going to be done. They along with the storm water crew flushed out the under road culverts and then they did catch basins on either side of the road. They finished today just in time for a downpour to test their work. Works wonderfully well and the water in front of my house is draining like it is supposed to.
I just wanted to thank your department for fixing my problem and for having at least 3 wonderful employees. I know there were other men out here at one time or another helping with different and I want to thank them also.

There is a large pot hole that developed in the road in front of my driveway. When it rains, the broken up asphalt is running down my driveway and into my drains. I called the Floyd County Road Department about this and the Woman I spoke with was friendly but I was disappointed when I asked for a time frame of repair. I asked will it be days, weeks, or months to have it repaired she stated she couldn't tell me. It would be as soon as possible. The repair was done within a couple weeks. I just wish they could give out some estimate.

I received a text stating that Moser Knob Rd. Has re opened.. it also states that no heavy trucks are too use this road. They are to keep using alternate route. I live on Moser Knob rd, this is the 2nd day of road being opened and have seen numerous heavy trucks using this road.. need to have someone monitor this road or install signs stating that there are fines for not obeying .. will be in constant contact with department until problem can be resolved..

I have been waiting for several months to have the erosion of my street repaired. On April 1st, I finally spoke directly to Ronnie (Supervisor), who asked me to be patient because of the many potholes in the county. A month ago, after another phone conversation, a truck came to drain some of the standing water, but still no repairs have been made, and rain brought more standing water the very next day. It is impossible to get in/out of my driveway without running over the crumbling road and (usually) standing water. Mosquito weather is here, too. My emails are ignored and my phone calls are fruitless. I want to sell my house, but no one will want to deal with that problem.
