Mama T's Italian Steakhouse

I am from out of town and googled restaurants and this restaurant popped up and I’m so glad it did. This was the best meal of my week long stay in Indiana. I got the baked spaghetti, my coworker got the fettuccine. We got an order cheese sticks and a slice of Carmel cheesecake and all I’ve done is crave this food since my visit. I wished I didn’t live 6hrs away. The entree’s are HUGE portions and well worth the price. I wished I could have this food mailed to me bc I would definitely order!!

We were traveling through Indiana and Mama T’s was recommended. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed surf ‘n turf, meat lasagna, asparagus, sautéed mushrooms and caesar salad. We topped it off with cheesecake and a cannoli! Our server, Trinity, was great and also Jason was wonderful and added that intangible - that feeling if being at home, like family. All I can say is abbondanza! 🇮🇹!

We made reservations a week in advance. As soon as we arrived our table was ready. Parking can be a challenge from the looks of it, with on street parking and a bank parking lot close by. We choose the bank lot. I had the Blackened Salmon with Mashed Potatoes (I heard are the best around) and asparagus. The Salmon was cooked to perfection. The potatoes are in fact fantastic, asparagus was asparagus. I ordered a dirty martini and it was pretty decent, especially considering the waiter made it and has never made one before.

All in all a wonderful experience in a charming downtown area. I highly recommend.

Update* visited again and got the 8oz Filet. Cooked perfectly at Medium Rare. This thing melted in my mouth. Was possibly the best steak I've ever gotten in my life. Definitely worth trying if you are a meat eater.

Excellent local place for dinner. Skip the chains and dine here. Highly recommend the ravioli and the salmon, but if you're a steak eater, try one of their specials which are really popular. The wine selection is good and very reasonably priced.

We loved this place!! You will need a reservation which was easily made with a phone call during their business hours. We had a group of ten and we were well taken care of by our attentive and knowledgeable server who made some great recommendations. I had a delicious and perfectly cooked steak with a side of fettuccine alfredo and a Caesar salad. The steak was huge and the alfredo portion was too. I had plenty of both left over to take home. My wife had lobster which was fantastic! Our friends had steak and pasta with marinara sauce and an order of lasagna. They had leftovers too. The prices are good. The restaurant was very clean and all of the staff was friendly and polite. We will definitely be making a return trip. Oh yeah, the dessert is a must have! Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.

Stumbled upon this place on a western trip, hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the last ten years. Steak and lobster were cooked to perfection, our waiter was excellent, and how can you leave out the cheesecake. Simply put … a must go to eating experience !

Best sweet tea. Even bread and butter was better then usual. Friendliest staff anywhere. Steak and lobster was good. Salad and fried mushrooms were delicious and brought out fast. Huge portion of pasta with chicken parm. Will definitely go back.

This is a perfect date night or family date night spot. The portions are perfect (and HUGE), the food tastes amazing, and to top it all off it’s all family style. My family and I love to eat here especially the cheesecake! Mama is sweet and cheerful as soon as you walk into the door. They welcome children and LOVE them. Brandon is sweet and makes amazing food! You will love it as soon as you walk in. It’s perfect to have catered or to rent out and have a party for a birthday or get together.

Went here with a friend of mine. The food is always great although they just have eggplant parm as a special. John was server and he was so attending. Makes a good old fashioned too.

Food was excellent! Portobello Mushrooms were so awesome!! Steaks cooked perfectly, and that yummy cheesecake. If you haven't been, you're missing out! So much food too!!
We loved it!

I did not expect to have one of the best steaks of my life at a small town Italian restaurant, but sure enough their ribeye was perfectly cooked (I like Pittsburg blue), and perfectly seasoned, and the same goes for the asparagus. I can't think of a meal I have enjoyed more all year.

The service was also spectacular. Dakota was helpful and attentive, and the rest of the staff came up and made sure we were doing well also. I loved it. I did find it a little weird that they kept the front door locked. Also the place was packed, so make a reservation.

My only complaint at the time was about the wine, I thought it was marked up way beyond its value. However, a bit of research says that a 200-300% markup is standard, so I guess I should be thrilled at only 150%.

All in all, this was an amazing dinner that my family enjoyed very much. If we are ever out this way again, we will be back.

We had a group of 14, with a reservation. The staff was well managed to greet my guests and seat us promptly. The drink and food ordering was great. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious. Our wait staff was attentive and courteous.

Great friendly service... wonderful steak and pasta.... 2 yrs later we go back and have chicken Alfredo, smoother chicken as appetizer, and I had a 12 oz ribeye with onions and mushrooms and a lobster tail. For our 20th Anniversary and we couldn't speak more highly we loved everything and enjoyed the service as well as the owners . Thank you was some of the best food we've had for a long time and rhe portions was huge so we have dinner for tomorrow also 😄👍👍

The steak will melt in your mouth..

Food was great as always but they didn't have any Cheesecake for dessert this time. Brownies not near as good as the Cheesecake. Steaks and pasta can't be beat.

Mama T's is AMAZING. John is our favorite waiter. He knows anything you ask him and goes the extra mile. I only got a picture of our brownie that we took with us though!

We had 14 people in our party. We never wanted for anything. Food was awesome and tasted great. The service was so good!!!!!! Thank guys for such a nice evening.

Never disappoints. People are great. The Italian cuisine is real deal. Prices are very reasonable. Be aware - food portions are huge!

Delicious local dinner place in downtown Huntingburg. We had the Italian meat trio sampler of chop, sausage and giant meatball with our choice of sauce...we picked pesto. Our table also also had a very decadent lobster & crab lasagna and a perfectly cooked prime rib. Several dessert choices but we only had room for one item which was an oversized fresh warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream. This is a very good restaurant and not at all fussy, would be thrilled to try more things of this menu.
