Today (5/7/22) I had a good friend of mine make reservations online for a transport trailer to haul my BMW X5 to Montana. M & M Hardware was the local dealer for her to pick it up at. As she approaches the counter to get assistance the employee explains that he needs to get the manager (roughly around 11:30 am, that should tell you who the manager was at that time. The manager comes to the counter and is immediately rude to her (said he was having a bad day). Then the price descrepancy happened! It was almost double of what the website had given her. She then calls me and while she’s trying to explain to me the price difference, this manager rudely interrupts by calling her ma’am while she is talking to me, she then turns to him and he explains to her that the price difference is for local use and for 7 days, she then explains she only needed it for 4 days, the manager then says rudely “you get it for 7 days, you have no choice!” I told her to leave out of the store so I could discuss this personally without that manager guy interrupting. She then goes back in and the employee at the counter was also rude when she walked up and he looked at her rolled his eyes and she responded to him “yep, it’s me again,” then he turned around and didn’t say another word or even act as if he wanted to help her.
How is it that when she booked the reservation online, it clearly allows the customer to put in the location of pick up and the location where dropping it off at gives her a price of $369, but it’s nearly doubled when she picks it up??? That’s a hell of a mark-up.
I called the Evansville location and reserved the Uhaul (same distance) and they were only charging $371???? That to me doesn’t sound right.
I’m sure this is a great store for locals to shop at, but your so called “manager” is going to give this company a bad reputation. If I were the owner of the store, I’d remove him from the staff, same with the employee at the counter. Bad business!!!
