Auburn City Steakhouse

What a wonderful experience my wife and I had with friends tonight at Auburn City Steakhouse. Right from arrival, the staff was courteous and helpful. We started the evening off with a couple drinks, I had Fuel Social FWDC Manhattan that was good. As an appetizer we ordered the Taco seasoned Devil Eggs which were good but lack a bit of the tang I like in them normally. For the entree I had the filet with crab cake that was top notch but the whipped potatoes were really dense and lacked anything special. For dessert the moms cheese cake made a great night cap. The bourbon caramel on top with walnuts went well with my old fashioned. We will definitely be back.

From start to finish, this was a great experience. Soup/salad, drinks, main courses and dessert, all wonderful. Steak was perfectly cooked, nice crust with a juicy center. We had a great time.

Very nice location, atmosphere, food, and service. I do not typically go out to upscale restaurants, so if you're not wealthy this review is for you. The menu is expensive, but probably on par for the quality of the food and staff. Everything we were served was excellent. The salad, the bread, home made butter, steak, potatoes, vegetables - all were of the highest quality and were above expectations. It's not a place I can afford to visit often but I look forward to coming back.

Everything about this place is awesome. We were there for a special event, but have previously had dinner and all was equally wonderful. The drinks, the food, the staff, all excellent. The salad and the low roasted steak were perfect.

Go for dinner, have a drink, or they now have a banquet room upstairs where they can host your private events.

Get the Chai Martini - thank me later. Or they have an excellent wine list and bourbon selection.

Phenomenal all around! Server Abby was awesome. Told her about my food allergy, and she let me know that even the buttermilk salad dressing had pepper, so she gave me an alternative option. Abby was so personable and so helpful! The food was absolutely perfect! Had a piece of delicious carrot cake for our anniversary dessert. Ended up having to take half my steak and half of my hubby's prime rib home because we couldn't eat it all. The portions are quite large. It's definitely the best steak I've ever had! I might just have to make the 2.5-hour drive back to Auburn from our hometown just to dine here again! What a way to end our anniversary getaway! Highly recommend Auburn City Steakhouse! Love that they left some of the original hardware stores decor! Very cool place with old school charm and modern design into one. Would love to see the upstairs next visit!

Absolutely phenomenal meal here last night! This place did not disappoint!!! 5 of us walked in around 515pm. We asked to sit at the open bar rail. At first, the older hostess gave us an odd look, but the younger hostess quickly said that they have 5 of the 6 rail seats available. So we sat and ate and drank for a couple of hours and each spent over $100. It was fantastic. The bartender and staff was on point. Very friendly. The food was absolutely perfect. We had no complaints! Looking forward to coming back!!

First time visiting as it has been years since I have been home. I was surprised that we were able to walk in and get a seat at the bar right away! The place is very posh, not something I would expect to find in this area. Trisha was a gracious host and made some wonderful recommendations, I had a GREAT gin martini that I’ve never heard of along with the deviled eggs and calamari; both were phenomenal!
We got to tour the banquet rooms they recently added and the designs are beautiful like the rest of the decor. Very impressed with the ambience, staff and menu options! We will be sure to stop in the next time we are in town, thank you for a delightful experience!

A wonderful locally owned and operated gem for NE Indiana. Fine dining in a wonderfully designed historic building located on the town square. Plenty of local shops in the are that you could make a day in visiting the local merchants and finish the day off with a first class meal. Highly recommend!

My fiancé and I have only heard amazing things about Auburn City Steakhouse, so we decided to try them out ourselves. We were NOT disappointed! The restaurant was very clean, was really pretty, and well lit. The service was top tier! Our server (Cloance) was very attentive, but not overbearing. She was very nice and great with offering recommendations! The food was also amazing! I got the prime rib, and it was so tender! My fiancé got the delmonico with compound butter on top, and he loved it too! The Cesar salad, French onion soup, and bread were all great! We also ordered the calamari and it was thicker pieces, lightly breaded, and not chewy like we've found other places to be. We're used to it coming with a marinara or another dipping sauce, but there's is plated on the sauce (I can't remember what the sauce is), which was really good! The drinks were perfect! They didn't taste like straight alcohol, but weren't watered-down either. We'll definitely eat here again!

The deviled eggs are a MUST HAVE every time! Save room for dessert!

What a beautiful place to celebrate a birthday!
We started our evening with a cranberry orange whisky sour and a 7 7's...both were very good and refreshing. We ordered chop chop salad and a bowl of creamy broccoli and cheese soup along with warm bread. The salad was very cold and crunchy ... just the way I like...the soup consists of a delicate yet lite creamy cheese base which was full of broccoli... scrumptious! Our main course consists of 4 prime rib tacos which were stuffed with tender prime rib and seasoned just right. We also ordered The double pork chops topped with apple chutney and a side of roasted brussel sprouts and whipped sweet potatoes! The pork chops were tender and seasoned just right-- and at least 6 inches high! Wow! For dessert we ordered bread pudding and it arrived warm with caramel drizzle on top. You could taste the buttery flavor of bread along with just a hint of sweetness which made each scrumptious bite a delight! Hats off to Frederick for being the best waiter!!!

Really good food in an amazing restored old hardware store. Very nice preservation of old historical relics. Oh yeah. They had DogFish 90 minutes on tap.

My wife and made reservations during a car show and had no issues getting out table upstairs. The waiter was awesome, with his knowledge of the food and drink specials. We order the poke bowl appetizer, filet mignon, new York strip with soup and salad. Everything was awesome and the food came out at appropriate times without feeling rushed. Awesome experience with amazing food.

Great brunch menu. Staff was very friendly and provided information on some of the items on the menu.

Brooke was AMAZING!!! She was so attentive, so knowledgeable, and so kind. I’m visiting from Alabama for a hunting trip and just happened to stumble upon this place and I’m in love! The prime rib was tender and cooked to my liking. The mushroom risotto was to die for!

If you ever stop by here, please ask for Brooke! She is beyond fantastic!

Oh my goodness! My husband and I took our motorcycle out and visited Auburn today! We decided to try Auburn City Steakhouse and we are so glad we did! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was unbelievable. So beautiful!! Our server was absolutely wonderful and the food... absolutely delicious! Best dinner I've had in a very long time. My husband got the Mahi Mahi and I got a filet. The pineapple salsa on top of the Mahi Mahi was perfect! My filet was perfect!!! Best filet I've ever had. Thank you so much... it was so nice to get out again! We will be back again and I'm telling everyone I know to check this place out!!!!!!!!!!☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Food was good. Service was good. Server was friendly and quick. Party of 8 felt like we were the only table in the restaurant. Around $130 for dinner for 2.

Had kids and girlfriend in from out of town. Wasn't expecting much out of a restaurant in Auburn, but was I ever wrong. This place was outstanding. Steaks were cooked to perfection, the desserts were incredible. We will be going back for sure.

The bacon scallop appetizer was perfect! I really enjoyed the caramel apple martini and New York strip couldn't be beat. Wait staff was very prompt and had a great attitude.
