We had taken wife's dad out for his birthday had the buffet and show for the Elvis Tribute which was amazing I highly recommend it. Surprise to see so many fans id say at least 2k fans took in the show that night of September 30. What a awesome experience it was.

What a great place a "hub central" in Shipshewana IN. The food is EXCELLENT. We picked the Buffet for $17.99 each and had a great meal. Salad, main course, and desert bars hosted fresh HOT and COLD food. Yea we ate too much but it was just SO GOOD!
walk off some calories looking in the gift shop for the crafted goods as well as plan on an honest Amish buggy ride around the area. Just plan on some time to just walk and enjoy the community.

This is a definite stop if you're in Shipshewana. There is a great variety of foods to choose from. They have 3 sections for the buffet, one is a salad and soup bar, one is dinner selections, and the 3rd is a dessert bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good, but not great. I will definitely go back, so it's not bad by any means. The total overall experience will bring me back again.

Superb experience - would recommend to most people.

We had a gluten and dairy-free person in our group and they found enough food options in the buffet.

Price: $16 per person for the buffet (which is downstairs) and kids under 3 are free.

Atmosphere: think upscale cracker barrel to an extent. Amish Country flair with wholesome atmosphere. Simple furniture with simple yet effective table accoutrements.

Food: don't do anything but the buffet. It's so good and worth the stop. Plenty of food options! The smoked pork and fried chicken are really good.

Drinks: standard Pepsi products.

Service: super friendly and very attentive.

Everything else: the bakery was a fun stop as were the other "mini shops" inside.

10/10 would recommend anyone and everyone stop here!

Beautiful restaurant with a buffet downstairs. Wonderful staff. I had to take pictures in the Restroom because it is in my top 3 most beautiful restrooms in the US & EU combined.

Very nice salad bar with soup, an area of warm, main dishes and a dessert area. Pictured are Amish noodles, pot roast, chicken dressing with chunks of chicken in it, potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese. The plate they give you is very large. The buffet is located on the lower level. You may take the stairs or elevator.
The bakery is on the main floor. Delicious looking pies and cakes, various jams and salsas, mixes to make dips, popcorn, candies (commercial and made locally).

Excellent home cooked food and deserts with a nice little shopping area. You can check in online and I recommend that because if they are having. A show it gets very busy

It was soo Good, it had a very wide variety of choices. My kids don't usually eat fish but they loved the pollock wings. Along with the 7 kinds of famous pies

Love this place! Normally always go for the buffet. Never disappoints. Such a cool place with the bakery and home decor shop. The food is always fantastic. So many options, great variety, and everything tastes delicious. If you don't like this food, you just don't like food. Wonderful to sit in a restaurant that every surface isn't covered in a television. Just as nice is dining in a place that isn't just a glorified bar, which seems like most places are now. Come for the food, stay for the show.

This was the second wonderful Restaurant we ate at during our visit to Amish country, the Bluegate Restaurant and Bakery in Shipshewana, Indiana. OMG, talking about fresh off the farm, corn, dressing, salads, mashed potatoes, homemade bread. A bakery with pies and cakes that made you want to buy them all. The fall decorations were astounding and we were close to numerous craft shops and experienced riding in an authentic Amish buggy. A great place to visit.

Nice people very clean and super busy. We did the buffet as part of our show package. (However our show was at a different Blue Gate theater not the one connected to the restaurant.

Bought dinner tickets with a show to save a little and had no problem using them here at the restaurant. It's an absolutely beautiful environment in the heart of Shipshewana amidst shopping and sightseeing. Suggest dinner before 5 if you don't want to wait but this place is well worth the wait. We had buffet downstairs and food was fabulous with great selection. Breaded Shrimp was best ever! Desert bar had so many pie selections it was difficult to pick. Coconut cream was best ever had, full of coconut! Wonderful, calming atmosphere with gorgeous oak trimming throughout. Bathrooms beautiful decor! Very clean and tidy. Friendly, helpful and very pleasant staff. Love this restaurant and highly recommend.

Visited Shipshewana for the Ice sculpture festival and stopped in at the Blue Gate Restaurant. I enjoyed all the gift shops within the restaurant. There is also a theater inside where they have shows on certain dates. I ordered the sampler plate and it was delicious. It slows you to sample the roast beef, chicken and the meatloaf on one plate! It also comes with mashed potatoes and your choice of corn or green beans and includes a garden salad. It was reasonably priced and had good portions. The lemonade is to die for! I also tried the coconut cream pie and it was also very good! They also have an option to eat at the buffet downstairs! I recommend this place if you're in the area and don't forget to check out the onsite bakery!

Delicious food, spacious, and not too noisy even on a busy Friday night. Even long lines move fast. They often have events with dinner + show combo options. This was our first time here. I recommend the southern style hush puppies and chicken stuffing, if it’s available (possibly seasonal.) The iced tea was also really good, not something you usually remember. Not too hot or too cold (some places run cold) and restrooms are immaculate with Christmas decor. I can only speak for the women’s restroom but there’s even a separate space for nursing mothers w/ample space. They thought of everything.

Great food. We normally don’t choose buffet restaurants but I craved meat and veggies and not being local wanted to be sure that I ordered something scrumptious. I loved the chicken noodle soup, fried chicken, beef roast, corn, green beans, stewed veggies (potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and sweet potatoes), macaroni salad and desserts! There were many other items that I didn’t try out but there really is something for everyone!! Price reflects the fact that they use high quality ingredients and cook everything fresh. Service was friendly and efficient. Will go again if ever in the area!

A favorite place. I usually eat here when I get tickets for a show, and yesterday was no different. I love that there are choices, menu and buffet, as well as all you can eat menu. Yesterday I ate after the show since it was an early matinee play. I was so pleasantly surprised to have several of the actors come down and serve food in the restaurant. I loved it. Everything is in the same building (including the bakery and the gift shop), and there is always plenty of parking. The place is so beautifully decorated year around.

I enjoy the food at Blue Gate. Their buffet generally has great selections and it has a pie bar. If you are a pie eater (I am), then the buffet price is well worth it. I have used them to prepare meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas to give to my aged parents. Their food is excellent for this purpose (mostly comfort food). Check out their bakery, too.

Small town vibes with delicious baked goods. The staff are always super nice to me and my family. They have a wide selection of goods: candy, donuts, muffins, pies, etc. They also have items you can make at home like popcorn and no-bake mixes. If you are into souvenirs, then you're in luck because they have shirts, sweaters, mugs and more for you to take home. I will be bake again soon.
