The Clemens Vonnegut Jr. House

This was only a visit to check out the property, not to stay, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the renovations on the historic home. It's location, high on an east shore bluff, provides great and unique views of Lake Maxinkuckee through the trees they've preserved on the site. While I was there, the home was open and benefiting from breezes off the Lake. I noted decks, patios and even a fire pit area to enjoy around the home. Inside wood floors, bead board walls and exposed siding harken back to the homes roots. Very cool! Great place for a Kurt Vonnegut fan to connect with their favorite author's roots.

Beautiful house. Love the lake and the quiet neighborhood. Great place for a family reunion.

1889 Historic home and childhood haunt of the Author, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Located on highest bluff on Lake Maxinkuckee lakeshore, gorgeous vistas. Walking distance to Culver Academies and Summer camps. Yuuuge bargain if you have a large group. Books out well in advance.

Very nice play like a mansion. Is go back for sure.

Back, back to Culver Days...
We plan to return next year.

The place to be.

Was there for a birthday party and looked lovely. Bathrooms were very interesting 🚽

Cool place. Pretty primitive with no heat in the main part of the house. Wood Fireplace and electric heaters helped. Two working bathrooms in winter made it busy. Culver and the Lake are great. House could use some TLC. Beautiful views. No experience with the place in the summer.
