Tried the Old Colonial Inn Saturday evening for the first time. Loved the historic old building and decor. We were seated in the library, which was less crowded and cozy. Our server, Liz was very informative and attentive. Our dinner selections were delicious, followed by raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. We were not disappointed and look forward to returning.

I was at Old Colonial Inn with 10 fraternity brothers....the owner is also a fraternity brother. Great prime rib, cooked to perfection and the cream of mushroom soup was outstanding. And Mike and Mara are the perfect hosts.

This is me and my husband's favorite place for a quiet dinner when we are alone. Must try the cream of mushroom soup, freshly breaded mushrooms, prime rib, and the filet. Always top notch service and excellent food!

First time here. What a lovely experience. Friendly staff and delicious meals. Ambience is wonderful, we dined in the library. The owners & chef stopped by each table - how wonderful. A great place to have a special dinner. Plenty of street parking. We will be back!

What an amazing place! Beautiful, well-restored old hotel, full of neat historical photos. But the best part is the food! Our dinners were cooked to perfection, and presented with impeccable, friendly service in a wonderful setting. So many terrific choices on the menu, it's hard to pick one. You won't find a better meal in Chicago! And did I mention the reasonable prices?? And the neat bar scene? I'm not sure how it took us so long to find this classic gem, but we'll be back again and often! Make Kentland your next dinner destination. You won't regret it.

Great upscale restaurant in downtown Kentland. The staff are very welcoming and attentive.
The food was excellent and the cocktails, many of which are house specialties, are generously poured. Ask the owner, Mike, for a wine pairing recommendation, he is always happy to help.

The Colonial Inn is warm and special. The owners and staff make you feel welcome and cared for. Mara is a wonderful hostess!
We had a grilled salmon with garlic potatoes and asparagus. Deliciously paired with an oaky Chardonnay
And a superb filet miñon with baked potato, and carrots aldente’ paired with a heavy Cabernet Sauvignon.
For dessert we indulged in the chocolate cake. Mmm superb!
After Dinner Mike Davis gave us a tour and told us about some of the exquisite artifacts that line the walls. What a pleasant surprise. Thank you Mike and Mara!
After such a pleasant experience we strolled along the historic walkway

Kind of pricey but absolutely worth it. Superior food preparation and great service. Worth the drive to have dinner in a quiet and romantic setting in an historical Hotel. Great decor and lots of history on the walls, even inside the walls, as you can find inside the restroom. Available for parties and special events. Fully stocked bar with bartenders that can make the drinks right. Highly recommend the Old Colonial Inn.

Food was great. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. We showed up without reservations and they found us a spot. Also found out that even though they don't open until 5:30PM, you can call and leave a message to make a reservation, which we will be doing next time!

The owners are delightful and helped me to host a dinner party in a private dining room for my parent's 60th anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Try the prime rib or the filet. You won't be disappointed.

Located in "downtown Kentland" in an historic old hotel, the decor is a throwback to the "good old days". The food and service were excellent. Will definitely return
Be aware Kentland is on central time.
