Fern Cliff Nature Preserve

Great place to take your family and kids for a hike! We spent about 3 hours here and did not explore all of the trails. The creek is so clean and well kept!

Beautiful nature preserve. We enjoyed the trails, the view from the cliff, all the beautiful ferns and moss. I believe this is where the Coca Cola bottle manufacturing was birthed.

Fern Cliffs is such a beautiful place to visit. I have been many times. I usually pack a lunch & a hammock & have a little picnic day with a friend. There is a very small parking lot that maybe fits 4 cars? Its not a very known spot so there's usually always room to park. The cliffs are gorgeous any time of year. I highly recommend giving Fern Cliffs a visit!

Beautiful tree lined trail that helps keep it cooler during the summer. The cliffs are magnificent and are host the park’s namesake. There are old structures that offer a glimpse of the past and how some architecture can stand the test of time. Highly recommend…definitely be careful when walking along the cliffs!!!

This place is absolutely beautiful. It may be overgrown, but you can plainly see the quarry through the tree cover. The fern-covered walls are a sight to see, and I was lucky enough to catch icicles still clinging to the cliff wall. Gorgeous scenery, quiet, peaceful. Doggo-approved.

As someone who loves ferns, moss, and lichens- this place was heavenly! Most of the trail/s are very easy, though to get the best view of the moss and fern covered cliff faces you have to follow a steep and narrow path. Definitely worth it if you're able, but there is still plenty to enjoy if not!

Really cool hidden gem. If you are driving too fast you might miss the tiny parking lot. The single trail is about 1.5 miles long. The beginning is easy and towards the end it gets moderate/difficult. There are ruins form and old quarry, beautiful cliffs, moss, and ferns.

Make sure to keep going on the trail until you reach the cliff, well worth it! Would be an amazing sunrise hike. If you got to the cliff right at sunrise it would be absolutely gorgeous!!!

It’s a cool place!! The trail is easy in the beginning until you see the cliffs. My dogs had so much fun hiking.

Beautiful off the beaten path nature preserve. Very well preserved. Unique geologically and it seemed like a diverse set of bird, mushroom, floral, and insect species. The sandstone cliffs are gorgeous!

Went on an adventure ride and had to stop by one of our favorite discoveries in Indiana... of all the times I've been here, there has never been a waterfall at this specific spot just as you enter the top of the cliffs. After the loads of rain for many days, it appeared!!!!

An easy hike less than a mile one way. Definitely worth the stop.

Peaceful area returning to nature with hints of previous inhabitation. Beautiful flora and scenic views. Nice little topographic section in the back.

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in this country. It is well preserved and somewhat hidden from the public, making for an exceptional day. There is an easy path to the top view of the stone outcroppings, as well as moderately difficult to extremely difficult routes down to the bottom of the cliffs. I highly recommend checking this location out to anyone who is looking for some of America's natural geological beauty!!

Fern Cliff is a well hidden gem. If you're looking for adventure in West-central Indiana, this is you're location.

Nice walk. Trail easy. Cliffs are remarkable for this area. No safety rails or such to clutter the area, so care should be taken near the cliffs themselves. There is only room for a couple cars in the parking area.

Such a beautiful place! It's really a hidden gem with untainted beauty!

The cliffs are stunning! 10/10 would recommend going there to anyone who likes a little bit of a challenge when hiking. Not bad trails, but the way back to the parking is a steep hill. The ruins are awesome to take pictures on.
