Bin 23 Bistro

One of my favorite places. The food is delish, and the atmosphere is adapting. Meaning an early lunch/brunch it gives a comfortable vibe and for dinner, a nice private or romantic vibe. I've never had something here I didn't like.

Bin 23 Bistro, a captivating French bistro tucked away in Northwest Indiana, is a delightful surprise that should not be missed. My partner and I ventured there for a late date night dinner and were immediately enchanted by its cozy ambiance, tastefully adorned in holiday glamour, and seductively lit, setting the tone for an intimate and memorable evening.

Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and were quickly attended to by our exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable waitress. As first-time diners, we appreciated her friendly guidance navigating the menu and her insightful recommendations which greatly enriched our dining experience.

The wine selection was quite impressive, with numerous options available by the glass or bottle. At our waitress's suggestion, I opted for a crisp, slightly tart Pinot Grigio, which beautifully complemented the salty, savory notes of our whipped feta appetizer. This starter, impeccably prepared and showcasing premium ingredients, was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to high-quality cuisine.

While there was a minor hiccup with my companion's entrée—the kitchen had run out of their initial choice due to our late dining hour—our waitress was swift to suggest a suitable alternative. Despite a slight mix-up on the bill, where both items were charged, the issue was promptly and professionally addressed, leaving no sour taste on our overall experience.

Our main courses, a lentil salad and a chicken and noodle dish, were both hit out of the park. The chicken and noodles dish was particularly satisfying, with its hearty, well-seasoned profile and tender, flavorful chicken.

The evening was rounded off with a delightful seasonal tart, crowned with a unique green apple ice cream—a refreshing, sweet end to a wonderful night.

In conclusion, Bin 23 Bistro more than earns its five-star reputation. The combination of its charming ambiance, attentive service, and delicious, well-executed French cuisine make it a standout dining destination. My partner and I are already looking forward to our return visit, and I would highly recommend Bin 23 Bistro to anyone seeking a top-notch French culinary experience in Northwest Indiana.

We visited for our first time this evening. Frankly we were planning to go to Ruth's Chris, but decided to give this place a try. Payton served us, and she provided extraordinary service to our party of 7. She has an amazing personality, perfect charm and anticipated the needs of our family with ease. The food was delightful and they adopted easily to provide options for our younger daughters. While the portions were more than they could endure ...they loved their meal so much they pushed to finish it and actually asked to take home the left overs. Highly unusual. I only wish they had a few more steak options and perhaps some other apps/dessert. Everyone loved the truffle deviled eggs, chicken and leek puff pastry and cheesecake. We certainly will return and highly recommend Bin 23!

Tremendous food, arguable some of the best in south bend. The onion soup and whipped feta are life changing appetizers. For our entrees, the short rib and chicken and leak puff pastry were also incredible. While I’m not a cocktail fan, their cocktails were very good and they also have a huge wine list. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good date night or just great food in the South Bend area.

The new winter menu at Bin 23 is fantastic. Our server was wonderful. She was attentive but not intrusive. The food was perfect for winter. We each had a nice glass of wine and shared the whipped feta to start. I had the French Onion soup and my husband had the chicken leek pastry. I recommend all the mentioned dishes. We will certainly be back.

This place is a true gem! We came from Texas to visit family and had a birthday to celebrate. The service is top notch and the food is incredible. The menu is smaller but makes it easy to choose and you're not overwhelmed with choices. I had the salmon and it may have been the best I've had.

We stopped here for brunch to try this place. A little pricey for my liking but the food was very good. Before the food came out, we enjoyed a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa. I had the Croque Madam that came with a frisee salad and my wife had the Short Rib Benedict that was served with Lyonnaise potatoes. The short ribs were cooked to perfection and the potatoes were nice and crisp. We also enjoyed a flight of wines call the French Connection. The service was good and the atmosphere was very nice. When you walk in, it feels like a fine-dining restaurant. It was very clean and orderly. As it is with most places anymore, the alcohol was half of the bill. If you go and enjoy the food and no alcohol, you could get out of there for $50-$60 (for 2 people), depending on what you order.

Had dinner at Bin 23 on a Friday night. The place was lively with a great ambiance. Had the Paloma spritzer which was good. Not too sweet. Had whipped feta with bread for appetizer. Spread was good but may have been better paired with pita bread. Had the chicken stuffed puff pastry which was also good, but I would have preferred the filling with a creamier or cheesier base. This is the first time I have eaten here. I’ll definitely come back to try other dishes.

I have had dinner a number of times with friends at Bin 23 and lunch for the first time today. The food is always well prepared and the atmosphere is the calmest in town. A place for a good meal and quiet conversation.

We stopped into Bin23 Bistro for brunch. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. We ordered cocktails (chocolate rum old fashioned and New York to Paris) which were both tasty and strong, well worth the money! Our meals were delicious. Both the short rib benedict and the dill beurre blanc salmon were well seasoned and prepared beautifully. We also had the frangipane tart with sabayon and mixed berries which was the perfect end to the meal. We will absolutely be returning to check out their lunch and evening options!

I love Bin 23 ! The food, cocktails and service are top notch. Everything is prepared to order and everything I have tried has been delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The servers are always friendly and efficient. By far, Bin 23 is one of my very favorite restaurants in Michiana!

We’ve enjoyed their pizza on a few occasions now and not been disappointed. The wine selection is excellent and has included a few from my home state or Oregon which I was delighted to see. Great atmosphere to relax and enjoy someone’s company.

I’ve been wanting to go here for awhile and I was not disappointed. I went around brunch on a Saturday and it was not busy. I ordered a cappuccino and it was adorable! It came with a little biscotti and a small rock Candy which is so unique! It also helped to explain the $6 price tag though I would be willing to pay that anyways for an illy cappuccino. I ordered the croque madame and it was delicious! The bread was crunchy, the cheese was tasty, and the little arugula salad was bright and refreshing. My brother ordered the hamburger and liked it, especially the small cut fries. This place makes a perfect date night or fancy night out. Will definitely go again, especially to try the famous steak frites!

I frequent Bin 23, and I really enjoy the atmosphere and the service I receive on a regular basis. The food changes are confusing and the pizza was one of the favorites they had. Unfortunately they no longer have that. I am also a Pescatarian and the original menu was the ideal one for me. They have hardly any of the items or have changed them so much they are not the same, like the truffled eggs (and oysters are gone). The kitchen staff is very different than previously as well. One in particular makes me feel very uncomfortable and we no longer dine there because of this. Feels like the entire kitchen does what this one older shorter man does including stare down customers. The previous kitchen staff was fun and energetic as well as often would communicate with patrons to make sure special instructions were carried out. Aside from that, the rest of the staff is extremely friendly and very on the ball. I simply do not like to be stared at while I am either trying to order or eating my food.

We enjoyed Bin 23 twice during the holidays. We went with both friends and family and had the best time. We loved the atmosphere, had great service and a wonderful variety of meals to choose from. Our servers were very accommodating with any special requests we had. We will definitely be back!
