I highly recommend staying here! The rooms were comfortable, we were very close to the gate of the National Park so there was less travel time early in the morning before trekking to the Golden Monkeys. We were able to get hot water to shower after our hike and even hot water bottles for night time as it was quite cold. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. We played volleyball with the locals and had a blast. We did the community walk and it was truly a special experience guided by Emma, who was so great! Plenty of options on the menu and with generous portions, you won't be disappointed.

I stayed here with a friend to do golden monkey trekking and it was such a heart warming experience. The rooms and beds were great (we stayed in a twin room but each had a double bed!), the shower and toilet were located very close to the room, and although basic, were functional. There were rooms we saw that had ensuites, so ask for this upon booking if that would be your preference. The accommodation is basic but we loved our stay here - Emma was so welcoming and he even made us hot water bottles for bed time as it was quite chilly when we visited! The food was delicious and the location to Mgahinga national park - right on the doorstep! We also took the community walk activity which we loved. When you stay here, you're directly supporting the local community. Would definitely recommend!

A great initiative and good budget option (basic) to stay if you want to hike mount Sabinyo. We really enjoyed the stay, the food and the friendliness of the staff!

Charming guesthouse with a tropical garden setting. We were camping on the lawn and used common bathroom and shower. There is an excellent breakfast and dinner menu. We loved the breakfast on the veranda with volcano view and the evenings around a fire in the central room. Juliette, Emma and the team were always helpful and friendly.

Situated right at the entrance to the UWA Mgahinga office where all the hiking starts so you wake up and just go. Saves you the early morning drive from the lodges that are far from the entrance.
A paradise for bird lovers. Views of Muhabura mountain.
Really good food and coffee and the staff are lovely.
They have a fireplace to warm you up.
Great camping spot but they also have bandas. Toilet and bathroom for campers could be better but they keep everything clean and tidy so it's all very usable.
It's a real gem.

I really enjoyed staying there! Accommodation is basic but clean and in a very beautiful setting. The staff is very friendly and they make very good food (try their banana cake for breakfast, it's amazing!) for reasonable prices, also provide packed lunch. I paid 10$ for the dorm, there are also double rooms and a camping ground. The location is absolutely perfect to go gorilla or golden monkey trekking, as well as hiking Sabinyo - you're literally 3 steps away from the main gate.
It can get cold at night so bring some warm clothes.

We spent here three nights and we had a great time! If you are looking for an authentic camping experience, great local food (bravo for the chef Jonas) and extremely friendly people, that's the place to choose! Plus, it's very close to the main gate. We will come back! :)

Simple but charming, close to nature and quiet accommodation right at the trailhead with good views of the national park. The people are also very helpful, organised and friendly. Thanks again for the good conversations! Besides, you support the local community with your overnight stay. We can only hope that the road will be repaired soon, because the approach road is really quite challenging for the vehicle.

Great location next to the park gate. Basic but lovely. Staff very friendly. We self drove up there, the road is not the best but easily accessible in a 4x4 (never used the function but glad we had a high Land Cruiser)

A very good budget option right next to the sabinyo hike and gorilla trekking start. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, food good, packed lunches can be provided. Accomodation basic but clean. Showers supposed to be hot but for us they went cold very quickly. Lovely campfire in the evenings, would highly recommend

I camped here with my own vehicle. Spots are pretty flat. Very good location when going for the Sabinyo Vulcano hike or golden monkey hike (5 minute walk to the beginning of the hike). Good food. Cold beers on request. Shower is cold, but fine. Toilets are very basic and not always super clean. Can recommend this place.
