.com I did book for next year 😀TAHAD with a small adding of money ,also extended my 3 days with a late check in .
I do suggest this place for value of money ,nice rooms ,clean ,hot water for shower 🚿 private bathroom en-suite toilet .breakfast included.decent breakfast.use BOLT TO MOVE around and you get the main beaches with 2 dollars of a ride …I do not suggest to stay near the beach area too expensive and beaches are not nice and dirty .stay at Sophia hotel and then from there move around .
Also laundry 🧺 service they do .
Plenty of restaurants and grocery around the area of the hotel..
I do recommend a lot this place
And ask for TAHAD FOR EVERYTHING!!

This is a little gem in the heart of Dar es salaam, the rooms are Spacious, light and airy with a/c. The location is great for wandering around the old town or visiting some great restaurants and close to the Zanzibar ferry. There is a small free breakfast of tea or coffee and bread toast and jam. The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable of the area. They help with taking your bags to the room and again when you leave. The price is great too for what you get, great work team.

Amazing experience! Honestly in Africa so far the best hotel for its value. Top location, in the center, close to the market, street food, malls, airport, train and bus stations. I had a huge room with private bathroom and big bed. The room was clean and had even a locker, hot water shower, smart tv and big shower. I spent there 3 nights and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast it’s enough to start the day. Next door I bought lots of fresh fruits, I even had fridge in my room. I ate every night the street food , very tasty and huge portion for $1 . They also provide toiletries and towel. Room is cleaned as per request and laundry service available. Mohamed was very helpful and friendly. I will be back for sure !!! Thank you for all!!

Mid-range hotel at budget price

This is a small hotel in the heart on Dar. The room was spotlessly clean and, unlike anywhere else we stayed in Tanzania, it was cleaned every day. Breakfast is exactly as advertised - tea/coffee and toast, so it is unfair to criticise them for this, and you are next door to an enormous indoor market for anything else you need. Staff were very helpful, clothes washed same day for TSH 10K/kg, and Taxi to the airport $10/TSH25K.

We ate at the Clay Pot in the City Mall across the road, and at Chow patty, a 10 minute walk away, and would recommend both.

We will come back here before our flight out.

One of the best budget friendly hotel in the heart of Dar Es Salaam.

They have nice rooms equipped with Working Air conditioning, TVs, best WiFi, hot water.
Also you can have early morning breakfast if you've flight or ferry to catch.

Sophia hotel - if you are looking for a comfortable place with everything (shops, restaurants, BRT bus, Kariakoo market) within easy walking distance, this is your place. The rooms come in different sizes and are simple but well appointed, well worth the money. I spent several weeks there, feeling very much at home. WiFi is consistently good, and the hotel is well run by the capable management. There is a limited free breakfast available in the lobby, a good time for chatting with other guests over unlimited coffee, tea, and toast.
Thank you for the good time and I hope I'll make it back there one day when travelling is once again hassle free!

I stayed at Sophia Hotel for two weeks, and was very happy with the large room and small kitchen. The rooms are very clean and furniture had an interesting style. The staff is friendly and helpful. They offer laundry for free, while in other hotels laundry might cost a lot. The hotel has a small restaurant mainly for breakfast but also other food can be ordered, but for dinner it is better to go out as there are many good local food places nearby. The location of the Sophia Center was also practical, close to a city mall (2min walk) and close to the city center. Good value for the price 👌

Wonderful staff, excellent service. They even have take our menus in each room so you can feel free to order food from outside of the hotel!

We recommend this hotel. We stayed in one of the appartements on the top floor for 35 000Tsch. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. They organise transfers from the airport as well.

A little bit old facilities but absolutely not a problem. Very nice, spacious and clean room. AC working well and service was great! Fantastic value for the money

I'd like to recommend this hotel,staff are friendly and place is within the city centre and vicinity in town,it's budget friendly too.No dull moments and facility is good no power interruption or outage.
