This was probably one of the largest of the Serena lodges we stayed in as there aren’t many lodges in the area. So the rooms were smaller and less exciting, And the restaurant and bar were always very busy. However, for the size of the hotel, it was still a great experience. The views were absolutely incredible as the lodge is situated on the rim of the crater. The food was predominantly buffet help yourself however there was always enough choice and the breakfast in particular was very good. The Safari packed lunches were a good size. We didn’t receive the same special treatment for being on honeymoon as we had encountered at other lodges. However, when our waitress discovered we were on honeymoon we did find some flowers on our table at breakfast the next morning, which was very sweet.

Wonderful place to stay on vacation in Tanzania! Fabulous views of the Ngorongoro crater from above. Great rooms, and super food, it is a joy to experience! November 2023 was the third time (2017,2019, 2023) we have visited Tanzania and stayed at the Serena Ngorongoro Lodge, that tells how much we enjoyed the experience!
