係全台首創以傳統建築再利用進行規劃的歷史園區，建築主體係以日治時期武德殿修復而成，別具意義，原建於西元1937年，先後曾延用做為演武場、縣警察局、省山地農牧局、員工消費福利社及縣環保局等場所。
園區內有：縣史館、南投陶展示館、南投縣藝術家資料館、縣史圖書文獻室。

園區免費觀展、建築以仿唐式及日本傳統社殿的建築形式～在南投市區很是醒目……內部分別有主題館、陶藝館、史前文物館、特展館及南投縣資料館～雖然展品並不多樣性但看的出用心度～

園區不大，古老建築修復得不錯，週末會有些活動。停車請導航至附近收費停車場，路上臨時違規停車多，警察取締相當頻繁
