Very nice place. There are a lot of stairs to take, so you need to wear good sport/walking shoes.

Really interesting place to visit. Small entrance fee, free car park, toilets and a vending machine available. Bats inside!

The must see place! The cave is amazing! You can go there by bus number 506 and from the last stop walk 1.6 km. 480 steps up are not so scary, it's quite easy to go up)
Visit this cave, it's worthy.

This is one of the famous caves you can visit in Turkey. It is about 33 km away from Antalya City Center. You can enter the area with your Museum Pass Card. There are enough places for parking your vehichles, while the road is not good enough. The authorities should renew it as soon as possible because it is depend on Ministry of Culture.
Upon entering the area, a tough stair walk welcomes you. It was really tiring to climb up to the mouth of the cave. If it is summer time, this makes it harder and harder. After this tiring climb, you can read the information plate and get in the cave. It is not a very big one but you can surprise when you see the stalactites and stalagmites. It is also so calm in this cave where you can refresh yourself after climbing on those stairs under sun.
As I read, this cave offered habitation for societies in early ages. Moreover, it was used as a temple and an altar in the Classical Ages. After excavations, the fossils that were founded gives important clues about Palaeolithic Age.
Shortly, if you have time to go around Antalya, you should certainly visit this place.

Very impressive pre-historic settlement used by man from 500.000BC. On a top of a hill needs a bit stair climbing but worth it. The site is open everyday.

Despite some very negative comments, I found this place to be a quite intriguing spot. It this true that it is not a very big cave but what makes this place unique is its history and the fact that early humans once inhabited this place.

Normally Karain Cave was be opened again on 1 june like other ancient cities national parks or museum because of Covid 19 epidemic. But you should know that it is still close because it isnt include open space like national park. We must wait a little longer to see there.

The cave is amazing, and you can hear the bats inside. Just be prepared for a lot of stairs... the cave is located at the tip of the mountain. Fortunately, there are rest locations.

Worth the effort. I was there 25 years ago in 1996, and I still cherish that visit. You can imagine the early inhabitants of the cave looking out over their Garden of Eden from the cave entrance. A wonderful place. Turkey is a wonderful country. My favorite in the world!!

This is an incredible location, knowing how far back in time it was first inhabited. Warning: there are probably about 400 stairs to the cave entrance. This is not accessible for those needing wheelchairs or strollers and not recommend if you have heart or lung issues.

A beautiful cave with very old formations and cave drawings. Pretty unsupervised so you can explore all the corners and smaller rooms on your own.
Main area is illuminated, bring a flashlight if you want to go further.
Note that entrance is 300 meters higher than the parking (about 10 minutes up the steps)

It’s cheap only 7TL and yes it’s small but it’s still amazing, this is apparently the second oldest cave that ancient settlements / Neolithic humans used!
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Also the views so beautiful. It also helps to go in the colder months.

PLEASE NOTE - the karain cave museum has been relocated to Antalya Museum! They have tried to get the information changed but it’s not in their control.

It works out nice to go to the karain cave first and then to Antalya museum :)
Enjoy
