It’s very interesting place. Ticket is a little bit expensive because you have only a few minutes to see and take the pictures before they close. But it’s worth to visit.

Panorama 1453 shows the final assault of Constantinople on May 29, 1453. The Ottoman Army of Mehmed II, aka Mehmed the Conqueror (1432-1481), and contingents of his vassals arrived to vicinity of Constantinople on April 1, 1453. On April 6, they started proper siege. During the entire siege, both sides saw many unexplainable and even miraculous phenomenons in the skies over the city. Many times, they saw unnatural lights and irradiation in the sky during the day and night times. On May 22, when the full moon 🌝 had to be, the narrow crescent 🌙 appeared in the sky. Advisers, imams, and scholars failed to explain Mehmed reasons, nature, and meanings of these omens. Mehmed was very anxious because he had no results after 47 days of the siege and even planned to lift the siege when, during the late evening of May 28, he noticed the irradiation in the form of the column of the light over the dom of Saint Sophia Cathedral. Then it flashed, and light jumped into the sky. Darkness cowered city. Defenders decided that The Mother of God left Constantinople and city has no her protection anymore. Mehmed ordered assault that turned to be successful. Eight painters were working on that huge panorama, but I found only one name of Hashim Citizen. Panorama was opened on January 31, 2009. Istanbul, 🇹🇷 Turkey 🇹🇷. May- November 2, 2023.

Amazing! I loved it so much, the only issue is that it’s very expensive. 300 TL per person, 30 TL for children & children 5 and under enter for free. There’s a cinematic panorama inside that lasts for around 10 mins which made it kind of worth the 300 TL. I suggest visiting before 2:30 PM because that’s usually when it starts to get crowded.

Great experience for the kids. We have 3 kids who thoroughly enjoyed the show. I did think that the price of 300TL/person was a bit high though.

Panorama History Museum1453. The Panorama 1453 Historical Museum is a historical museum in Istanbul that opened on 31 January 2009.This museum shows the conquering of the city of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire, by the troops of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror on 29 May 1453. The museum is located close to the point where the Ottomans breached the walls. Its main exhibit is a 360° "panorama" painting, (also known as a Cyclorama) of the battlefield at the time the walls were breached, giving the visitor the impression they are standing in the middle of the battle. The painting is made and presented in such a way that the visitor appears to be at the centre of a huge space rather than a circle only 38m in diameter. Sound effects add to the illusion - there is the sound of guns firing, of soldiers shouting and a military band playing to urge on the troops.

Much of the museum is in Turkish. There is some English translation to the text but there are some grammatical errors.

The museum is geared towards children and Turks but its still a great tourist attraction.

Its easy to get there via the tram Sultanahmet.

This place blew my mind!! I cannot describe it and pictures do NOT do justice!! This is epic, amazing, stunning, everything. I'm definitely going again. It's a 360 dome showing the conquer of constantinople and the details are magnificent. Just go and you won't regret it! I could stay there for hours looking at every detail. Truly mind blowing. Don't forget to have a little walk along the ruins of the walls of constantinople afterwards where there is still history standing and is very surreal.

Just an amazing and Awesome experience! One of must see places of Istanbul! The huge 360° panoramic view of the battle that gives the feeling of travelling back in time to 1453 to see the battle of Istanbul conquering by Sultan Muhammed Al-Fatih. Wonderful sounds and display of battle. The art work is fabulous and they used the actual cannons and weapons that used in the battle! It is recommended to read the posters before entering the dome to fully understand the whole story. Highly recommended!

This place has historical views when Bezatine Empire fell. Through paintings and pictures you will experience the time which has passed hundreds of years ago.
They have galleries in basements and when you visit first floor, you will see a panoramic view of the entire scene of Constantinople. The walls which were securing the city, were destroyed in war. There is sovenirs shop when you exit the museum. The shop is a bit over priced.
The entrance fee is 50 tl per person.
