Kirazlı Monastery

This place is off of the beaten track. But if you are near-ish, it is more than worth a couple of hours of your time. Nestled in the woods, it offers great photo opportunities. Parking is on the road, entry is free!

Visited this place years ago. It is definitely off the beaten track! However, worth every hour it takes to get there. Incredible history in a wonderful country which I miss very much.

Wonderful monastyr but you must be careful on the road. Only small cars and motorcycles.

19th century remainings of a great orthodox church in the middle of the Kapidag (Kyzikos) peninsula. Once a year praying service by Istanbul orthodox church officers.

Worth the visit. Road isn’t easy and signs are not clear, but once you find it, you will like it.

Always a nice hiking historical location.Unfortunately, visitors trash the place. The efforts of the city or the locals can go only so much to clean the area.

This ruines looks like they come from a dark fairytale. People abandoned them long time ago and now nature rules here. Mighty trees, ferns and lichens shaded rocks. I'm sure, driads and elves are somewhere around.

Please be sure that your car is capable to handle the road with many rocks that you have to go over to reach to the monastery.

A derelict monstary from the 18th century, I believe. Not an easy destination to get to on foot, but definitely worth the trek

kesin kayboldum diye 3-4 defa düşündükten sonra buluyorsunuz. ormanın içinde ıssız sessiz sakin yeşilliklere gönülmüş mistik bir mekan. yanımızda getirdiğimiz kahvaltımızı su sesi ve kuş cıvıltıları eşliğinde huzurla yerken bir grup fotoğrafçının gelip bağıra bağıra konuştuktan sonra huzurumuzu kaçıran mekan

Ballıpınar camisinden manastıra 6 km lik bir yol var. Normal aracımızla yaklaşık 20 dk da vardık. Yolda yer yer tabelalar var, bulması sıkıntı olmadı. İlk köy yollarını geçtikten sonra orman içinden gidiyor yol, yolun kendisi bile çok keyifli. Yer yer taşlı ya da engebeli ama, kesinlikle gidilmeyecek bir yol değil. Manastır ormanın içinde, duvarlarını ağaçlar sarmaşıklar sarmış. Çok mistik bir ortam. Mutlaka görmenizi tavsiye ederim.

Misya yolları Erdek Kapıdağı bölümünde bulunan, insana huzur veren bir bölge. Bitki örtüsü, tatlı sularıyla doğa severlerin mutlaka uğraması gereken, avcılar ve mangalcılara (çöpçülere) karşı devletin koruması gereken bir yer.

Doğayla iç içe muhteşem bir yer, mutlaka ziyaret edin mümkünse kamp yapın. Nemli havası, biyolojik çeşitlilik, doğal, yapay güzellikleriyle harika bir yer.
