Grand Çatalkaya Hotel

The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic - diverse choice of food that tastes great. The location is quite central. A few minutes walk to the bus station, where you catch the bus to Palandoken (important for those who came for winter sports).

It was a way too hot, extremely dry and stuffy in the room because of central heating (we had to keep the window open all the time). Also, our room had a small window, which didn’t provide enough natural light. We had to keep the lights on the entire time. It’s not a big deal but the lamps right above the bed were extremely loud! That was exhausting.

Overall, the experience was nice. I would stay there again (but will bring the ear plugs and a humidifier:))).

My family of five stayed in the family room. It was perfect for us. The breakfast was excellent and a larger buffet than I have seen at other, well-known hotels. Hakan bey in reception was most helpful to us when we had questions or asked for a suggestion. The hotel’s location is perfect for walking to the city center or for taking public to the ski slopes. We were most happy with our stay!

I had a pleasant stay here. The brakefast is fabulously great and delicious.
Rooms are big and clean! English is a little problem, but Hakan from the reception was very helpful and managed every speaking barrier!

I stayed at Grandcatalkaya hotel with my family last month. I wanted to express my satisfaction as a comment. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The service is high quality, the employees are friendly, polite and respectful. The restaurant of the hotel is also of good quality. I did not expect to encounter such a service. It was one of the rare hotels in Turkey that I was satisfied with. Thank you again for everything.

The Situation;
We're travelling as a family group of 5, which means that in most places, we'll need two rooms to fulfil our needs. The booking at Grand Çatalkaya Hotel was for a 4 Person Family room and a 1 Person Deluxe room.

The Good;
Our two rooms were VERY spacious, well appointed, clean & warm, with super comfortable beds & good bathrooms + hot water.

An excellent buffet breakfast worthy of a +5 star hotel in what was one of our favourite settings, that being of a Boston Warehouse look and feel. Just amazing. And the food on offer... It seemed endless, better than the breakfast we had at Kolin Hotel in 2019, a 5 Star hotel on the west coast of Turkey.

All the staff were amazing at every level, from the reception, valet, cleaning staff, food and beverage staff. The staff were able to help us with all our needs during our stay and serviced us highly professional and dedicated manner. This dedication, attentiveness, and servant heart all comes from the owner's dedication to his hotel, who we had the privilege to meet at breakfast. He ensured that our stay was more than memorable.

The location is less than 10min walk from the train station, so an easy transit if you've just come off the Eastern Express like we did. Having checked in, we found ourselves near the city centre with all we wanted to see and do within walking distance. If you want to head up to Palandoken, a quick Taxi ride will have you there in about 15min. Talk about WINNING!!!!

The Not So Good;
Our bathroom in the family room, be it workable, was a little small, but our friends bathroom in the deluxe room was well, DELUXE.
So the not so good is not so bad after all.

The Verdict;
No only would we stay here again, rather WE WILL stay here again. We even contemplated staying on a number of extra nights. Had it not been for some forward bookings, I dare say we would have stayed on for a few more nights.

We're already planning our return to stay at Grand Çatalkaya Hotel, hopefully in the next year or two.

I stayed two different times in this hotel and i can say that i really liked it. Especially wonderful breakfast you can find there what do you eat that day. Rooms are clean, good decoration. That hotel is my only adress when i come to Erzurum. Thanks 👍🏼

Nothing but gratitude for everything they have offered us, rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable.
The location is great and the breakfast was very tasty.
The only downside was that the rooms don't offer air coolers, so in the summer days it gets warm, but in the night with windows open the room gets pretty cold.

Very good hotel. Rooms are clean, breakfast is just perfect, even 5* hotales haven't such rich breakfast! Personel is nice enough and excellent service. Only problem is beds. They are very soft, so when I awake I feel pain in whole body. Orthopedic beds are needed. I think, issue with beds is solvable.

Great hotel and brilliant location. Everything is new, beautifully designed and very comfortable. We had the pleasure of meeting Omer, one of the owners, who was incredibly hospitable and friendly. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and we really enjoyed the view of the castle from our window! The hotel has safe parking (we were able to park our motorcycles) which was an added bonus. And the breakfast is on another level - amazing selection of everything. Highly recommended! We hope to return!

The room was modern, airy, bright, and clean. We were well supplied with complimentary water bottles and standard toiletries. Staff was kind, responsive, and flexible. The breakfast buffet provided plenty of delicious options for everyone to enjoy. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport and within 2 kilometers of most tourist sites and shopping. They really deserve the high rating they have reached. We stayed for one night and it would surely be our definite choice whenever we go to Erzurum again. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, no racism noticed. The rooms were clean with complete equipments needed. The breakfast was amazing with variety of options. Highly recommended.

I booked the Deluxe room, not the cheapest, but definitely the most comfortable room I had on my trip throughout Turkey. The level of comfort approximates that of a good hotel in Europe. Quality is in the details. E.g. my room did not smell like cigarette smoke, which is quite extraordinary in this part of the world. Unfortunately, smoking in the restaurant is allowed, as it is very common to smoke in public spaces here. The room pleased me so much, that I extended my stay for another two nights. It is not always easy to communicate with the staff, as most of them don't speak a European language (and I don't speak Turkish). They are very willing to help though.

Really nice hotel and really nice staff. I arrived and realized I booked for a month later. The receptionist was really nice and moved the reservation for me at no charge. Will definitely visit again!

I would give 5 stars to the nice and friendly staff. The hotel is pleasant with good looking areas. The breakfast is a really big buffet with nice food. I would like to thank the owner to accept my dog also. Evrething perfect except... The room (112-first floor) It's a kind of big corridor with small window at the end with no view. So a bit bark. Bathroom is really not confortable with really small shower (with bad draining). You can't front the mirror as there iş no space to stand... I mean, according to the price, you deserve something better. Anyway we had a good stay.

Fantastic place to stay in Erzurum. Quite well located near all the main sights. Modern look, with big rooms and very comfy beds. I will definitely stay again when visiting the city.

Grand Catalkaya in the heart of Erzurum is probably the best Hotel in town! We stayed for six nights and recovered from travel sickness. All the staff was so wonderful and helped us with every situation. Highly recommended! :)

Excellent rooms and service. They served us free Turkish coffee upon checking in, and went an extra mile to get the room ready earlier. Our room had the view of the Erzurum castle.

This place was beyond our expectations the experience was great from beginning to end the rooms are very clean and spacious and the beds are so comfy and fluffy also bathrooms are very comfortably designed with full amenties and the breakfast is out of this world so delicious and has variety of dishes, i also want to mention their live violen during breakfast which provides a relaxing sensation and a luxurious experience. the customer service as well is excellent and the staff are very helpful and kind i absloutely
recommend staying here 🤗 we will be coming back for sure!!
