Sometimes the lack of attention of North African countries to their best assets is criminal.

We only found out about these shops when asking a Tourist Information lady in the clocktower office about Punic Carthaginian art. She had no idea, but suggested visiting the Arts & Crafts (Artisanat) to ask the artisans there. Otherwise we would have never known about them.

It's not a luxurious location. The sales offices are shared with open working spaces where you find people creating the stuff they sale (which is nice). The fact the place is little known means that many of the visitors are local, which keep the prices reasonable. And sure enough, you don't get the hassle of the insisting Medina peddlers.

We're used to Medina overcharging, but never to the degree we found here: what we bought at the Artisanat we later found at the Medina with an asking price ten times higher. Yes, ten. After visiting medinas in Morocco, Western Sahara and Algeria we know the painful process of denying interest, sipping lukewarm mint tea and hearing about the catastrophic state of the poor owner's finances until the price comes down to a tolerable figure: but starting a full order of magnitude above, that's a new high.

In summary, dear Tunisian tourist board, support your local artisans by at least letting visitors know you own a dedicated space where they can shop without being accosted. Improving the frequency of the Tram/Metro 4 would help too (the thing runs incredibly crowded!)

De très bons artisans mais un mauvais point pour Zitoun artisanal qui a refusé de m'échanger un service à thé qui se brise quand on verse du thé dedans.
La réponse a été il faut le verser tiède !
L'accord m'avait pourtant été donné par le patron lors de la foire de l'artisanat il y a 3 ans. J'habite loin et la foire avait été suspendue lors du Covid ce qui explique le retard à l'échange du service neuf, dans son coffret d'origine.

Lieu incontournable pour les amateurs de l'artisanat tunisien. Vous y trouverez plein d'idées cadeau et un tas d'innovations avec une exploitation de plein de nouveaux matériaux. Les prix sont très corrects et sûrement beacoup moins chers que dans les souqs.
Dommage que beaucoup de boutiques sont fermées.

On y trouve quelques boutiques où il y a des pièces uniques et authentiques 👌 j'aime bien aller aux souks mais il faut toujours que je vienne ici en plus car je sais que je vais y trouver quelque chose de différent et exceptionnel. Bref walah tayara je recommande, hata ken ma techri chay tmate3 3inik b barcha dhaw9 w barcha fiena ❣

Charment centre avec plein de boutiques d'artisan avec différentes variétés (deco, peinture, poterie, textile...)
Je recommande vivement visite de ce centre et de consommer tunisien.

Un jolie reflais de l'artisanat tunisien. J'ai testé une variété de produits qui ont étés à la hauteur de mes espérance.
