Large site but smaller than Dougga and flatter so easier to get around. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with mobility issues. The site itself is fantastic if a little overgrown in parts. The maintenance guy keeps the best part( cellars with the best mosaics ) locked, but he comes around and unlocks as you go around. I was there on the first day of Ramadan, so I pretty much had the place to myself. The ruins are pretty much of a full town and are really quite spectacular if somewhat eclipsed by Dougga.
FYI, I don't drive, and I found it was much cheaper and more efficient to hire a driver for the day and do Bulla registration, dougga, Thuburbo Majus, and Zaghoun.

Spectacular place, plenty to walk around and see. Beautiful mosaics are still in a very good condition. The underground site it's amazing, the theatre is remarkable. Not too many tourists come here but it's totally worth it. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English. Make sure to negotiate the price before you're taking the guide, it's not a must.

I really enjoyed seeing the Roman ruins at Bulla Regia made all the more interesting with the guide Ayadi Amel (+216 96 014 141). She showed me all the fascinating underground homes and mosaics. I asked her a ton of questions as she led me around this large site for 90 minutes to 2 hours. A great and worthwhile service that I can highly recommend.

This place is just amazing! I have never visited a Roman ruin like this. It is very original.
At first you think that it is another ruin and then you discover the underground houses!
It is a must if you go to Tunisia.
We went by car as it is the easiest way to arrive there.
Staff is very friendly.

A breathtaking gem hidden between the mountains of the Tunisian north west. Bullaregia is a beautiful, well preserved archaeological site, a true rare roman era village featuring underground houses and a nice roman theatre. Truly a must visit. Bullaregia also has a restaurant, cafe, museum and gift shop on site ran by a very friendly staff.
Very recommended if you’re ever in Jendouba.

Amazing site originally Numidian then Roman after ending up Byzantine. The half-circular amphitheater is wonderful. We have been told that what makes this site special is its beautiful underground monuments.

I can't describe how beautiful and unexpected this place is. The mosaics you find here are so amazing and impressive. It is just sad to see that they are not more protected with some kind of barriers in order to people not to step on them or even the weather don't ruin them. It was a lovely busy. The staff were really kind and friendly. I would highly recommend it. If you are in Tunisia you need to come here for sure. Please, don't miss "La maison de la chasse" the hunting house and "La maison de anphititre" the house of Venus. They are underground and this gives them their charm.

Incredible site with outstanding mosaics in place on the floors of villas. Do get a guide - they can easily be found in the car park opposite. As with other world class sites in Tunisia you are likely to have this more or less to yourself.

Bulla Regia‘s two most impressive public buildings are a small and beautifully-preserved theatre with special seating reserved for its most important citizens.
