This place is magical!
The tour takes 1-1.5 hours and includes: riding a kayak, then switching to a bamboo raft, and then walking by foot in the water.
The route is narrow and there are amazing stalactites and stalagmites in different colors and shapes.
Local guides were great and speak decent english.
We were a group of 5 adults and 5 kids (ages 2-10) and everyone enjoyed!!
The price is 500 baht per adults (young kids are free), and everyone gets headlights.
The walking part was easy for all kids, water reach knee height or lower..
We also saw many bats🦇
Highly recommended tour

Tham Phung Chang ("Elephant Belly Cave") is an interesting place to visit. The entrance of the cave has a small "cavern walk-thru" that's easy to access and free of charge. It gets quite dark once inside the walkthrough so I recommend that you turn on your mobile phone flashlight. During the rainy season it's not unusual for the walkthrough to be partly flooded so be prepared to get some wet feet!
The main cave has a stream flowing through it and you can make a trip by inflatable canoe with guide for (around) 500 Baht. The tour takes about an hour and a half or so and is quite spectacular.
There are also monkeys living nearby and they often "steal" the fruit-offerings left by locals who pray at the cave. If you like elephant statues then you have come to the right place - there's a ton of them!!

Phung Chang Cave is massive natural cave and is only accessible by guided tour where you are led along a running stream partly by canoe, then bamboo raft and then wading in knee deep water. We recommend wearing water shoes. The distance covered is 1.2km.
We saw several rock formations that resemble elephants, lotus flowers, jellyfish and egrets formed from large lumps of carambola stone. There are also cavernous rooms, magnificent gold and red coloured walls and massive stalagmites and stalactites.
We also saw rat-faced bats and Kitti’s hog-nosed bats, the latter being the world’s smallest known bat species and exclusive to Thailand.
The cave is open daily from 08.30 – 16.00 hrs. Tour fee: 500 baht/person The tour of the cave takes around 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, you are not permitted to take photographs inside the cave. You can find Phung Chang Cave by walking from the town and you can arrange your visit directly with the staff at the entrance.

It's 500thb per person, and you're not allowed to take photos inside.
Overall we liked the experience, but I don't think we will come again.

It's one of the best places in Thailand. 500THB for foreigner and 200THB for Thai. But it's worth your money. About an hour trip in cave. Must come!

Great experience. Well worth paying for entrance and guides to take you in. Tour includes canoe, bamboo raft and a shallow wade into the back of the cave. Excellent.

The cave is beautiful and they really make it a little adventure... They start the journey on a tiny boat, move you to a bamboo raft, then have you walk the remainder through ankle-deep water. The wonders of the cave are the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites throughout.

We enjoyed the trip, the adventure and our guide (who spoke enough English to make the journey fun). The cost was 500 Baht per person, a value we gladly paid.

Adding to the mystique of the place, you are not allowed to take photographs within the cave. It made us feel that we were truly adventurers of unexplored territory.

Definitely a must-see.

Pretty cave with series of stalactites and stalagmites. The guide does a good job of telling stories about the history of the cave and ecosystem. He pointed us to the two types of bats in the caves, some spots they sleep and other animal's behavior. They also got stories of what each stalactites/stalagmites looked like.

The walk is nice since there's very good airflow into the cave. Most areas of the cave have some sort of water surface and is not lit at all(they have a flashlight for you)

Cost of entry is 200 baht (500 for non-Thais). I took the Thai speaking guide so can't vouch for how the English version will be but I'd still take the experience regardless.

Love this - I had no idea there was a whole canoe tour that was guided - we got there and no one was around. I figured out that the water way was the actual cave and started exploring myself! I felt like Indiana Jones - I just wish I brought a flashlight cause I wasn’t prepared at all for the cave to be so big and long! There are apparently guided tours which I soo wish I could’ve taken! Anyway a must see in my opinion!

Nice place to visit. you have to get the guided tour which will take you into the cave by boat then you will walk for about 500-700 meters to see amazing nature. Price for me is 500 THB / pax, free for kids. If you don't like the price, just don't buy it.

Amazing caving adventure right next to the city! You will be wearing a head torch while the guide is rafting you through the cave (start with a kayak then change to a bamboo raft, due to narrow passage of the second legs of the journey). Then you will be wading through knee deep fresh clear water to discover amazing rock formations and trying to find Kiti bats - the world smallest species of bat (less than 5 cms tall). The highlight of the cave is the amazing white elephant rock formation right at the end of the cave.

This cave was originally formed under ocean and the guide will point out to you, samples of fossilised seashells and corals on the cave wall. You will find many beautifully preserved sparkling red silica formations. Please avoid touching them as oil from human skin will change the chemical composition and in turn destroying thier brilliant sparkles. You will also find Thailand largest stalactite right close to the end of the tour.

The mountain looks like a kneeling elephant and it is a symbol of Phang Nga. This tour is taking you inside "the belly" of the beast, hence the name of the cave "elephant belly cave - Phung Chang Cave".

No photo allowed inside of the cave to preserve its natural ecosystems and for your own safety. Prepare to get your legs wet and beware of many overhanging rocks. Keep your hands inside of the raft as some rocks can be sharp. Please closely supervise your children. The whole experience takes around 1 hour, the cost is 500 bahts per person. The air is fresh and cool through out the cave.

There are also plenty of small pig nose bats and kiti bats around, they are fruit eating bats, hunting at night and rest during day time inside the cave. If possible, to not blinding them with your bright head light, try not to diffectly shine the light onto them but using the less bright area of your torch light's circle instead.

Great eco tourism affrord by the local. Unfortunately the guide only speak basic English, but he is so passionate and full of conservation spirit, so here I am trying tell you what he wanted to tell your guys who joined the tour.

Enjoy your caving expedition in Thai style comfort :)

Very impressive limestone cave kept in natural state. Visit involves several modes of transport - canoe, bamboo raft and wading through knee-deep water - which is great fun.

Totally recommended 1-hour activity in Phang-nga city.

There're 3 parts: canoe, bamboo raft and a short walk. Suggest to bring spare pants or shorts if visiting during rainy season. Water level can be above the knees.
