The Tropical Beach Resort, Koh Chang

Comfortable large concrete rondavel style huts in a forested clearing close to the beach. At the end of the beach, it’s quieter, wider and nicer here. The entire beach is clean and mostly free from litter. The only adjoining property is a quiet campsite. The beach has quite a few mosquitoes, particularly at dawn and dusk; coils were very useful.
The bus drop off/pickup is a 500m walk along the beach. On arrival they said that we could have had a pickup had we arranged it.
Comfortable bed, fridge, kettle, a/c, hot shower etc. Chairs and a table outside. Loads of interior space with sparse furnishings; some comfortable chairs would have been really nice. Room is a bit dark.
Restaurant is a bit expensive and corporate; the Bamboo Hut is nearby, a family restaurant that’s really friendly and good.
There’s also a small shop nearby selling cold beer much cheaper than the bar.
The beach ends here. There’s a rough track that leads through a battered forest to fishponds and a stream, it’s a good area for birdwatching. The forest proper doesn’t seem that far away.

If you want a quiet place right on the beach to relax, come here. We've had some great days here, very relaxing. We will be back. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were very nicely cleaned. The breakfast was a bit basic though. The resort doesn't have a restaurant, but there are places nearby. We will be back for another relaxing vacation.

Our favorite spot on koh Chang! We stayed at a few different spots across the island and this end of the island was by far our favorite! Great vibes and lovely little huts in the beach

Great bungalows. This is our second time here. All the comfort we need for a get away stay. Good bed. Very clean linen and towels. What a pity there is no restaurant but this is understandable considering post COVID situation. We got served at the sister hotel just a few steps away. Staff was very nice. Beach is perfect. Recommended for those wanting a real hide-away and peace.

The tropical beach resort staff : Cholly and Bhudit made my stay with my dear friends a special one. At The Tropical Beach resort bungalows .Are Spacious bungalows clean every day. Nice views .Acc. TV. Fridge. First place I been they give you bottle glass water not plastic. 🥰👍.
The staff at cocochacha, bar were wonderful, our buffet breakfast at Chivapurri Beach resort (next to The Tropical )was great and the staff was wonderful too.
I cant wait to see the new coffee bar ☕. Klong kloi beach I thing is the best one in all koh chang. I hiked hours thru the jungle, explored remote areas , socialized with the locals , 🥰🙏 I recomend The Tropical Resort . It's peaceful and relaxing. With great staff ready to help.

The Tropical is a wonderful resort. A true authentic experience. You feel one with nature. The rooms are beautifully designed. It’s a family run business that goes above and beyond. The breakfast is possibly the best I’ve had here in Thailand. Thank you very much to Bon and his family.

Been here twice now. What I thoroughly enjoy is how quiet the place is. Walk few hundred meters and the other places are packed. This one isn't.
Staff is friendly and generally attentive.
There are no big waves on the sea due to rocks that break those ahead of shore.
Downside is poor access road that you will be literally crawling on with anything but a pickup truck.
Also if you want to buy anything, you will have to go to town, on that road again.

A beautiful hidden resort with dreamy bungalows and a beautiful beach! I have to say that seawiew bungalows had a brilliant air conditioning which kept you cool but did not make us sick :) you can really relax and just recharge your batteries, even with 3 small kids! Breakfast was diverse, tasty and just a minute away from reception. You can rent a kayak for free and a everyday free shuttle to Bang Bao pier at 11am. Enjoy your massage on the beach our swing on a tree every 10 meters! Yes, it is kind of a small paradise, which you start to feel after 2 days there.. Probably becouse it is a lot to take in and you have to relax to get in the right feeling. We do recommend - a lot!

What an amazing place. We stayed here for 5 days in the bungalow with the sea view. The bungalow is spacious with all comforts you need. The hostess of the resort was very kind and helpful. With every question you had she was ready to help you. The beach is great and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Also nearby is a deserted resort with a ghostship and a very beautifull waterfall to see.

If you go to koh chang and want to avoid the busy tourist places go visit The Tropical Beach resort. You won't regret it!

Best place to relax on Koh Chang! We have been on Koh Chang for a while and the Tropical Hideaway Resort is definitely the most relaxed and chill location on the Island. The staff is very kind and service minded. Bathrooms are clean and well taken care off.

Breakfast is extensive with both European and Thai options. Also what I personally like is that the Thai and desert options vary every day.

On another small note, there is quite some sandflies on Koh Chang. However on the beaches at Tropical Hideaway there are barely any sandflies.

After my stay here I wanted to write a poor review, only to keep it off the radar, so the next time I return it would be as quaint and peaceful as my visit.

This place was like a getaway from reality, the Shangri la of my Thailand Vacation. The location is scenically breath taking with beautiful views of Bung Bao bay's pier, Koh Klum and Koh Wai, and the calmest ocean waters on the west side of the island. The unique round bungalows were awesome, very Cold air conditioning and hot water with decent water pressure. Comfortable beds and a great covered stoop outside for relaxing and watching the ocean.

The worst part was the drive, which really wasn't that bad actually. It's pretty much at the very end of the road on west Koh Chang, and we had a fairly large suv with a kayak catamaran on top, so it was white knuckle a bit. Despite this it's totally worth the drive I assure you.

The beach is quite rocky in front of the bungalows but maybe 100yds north and it's just fine so we had no issues.

The best part of the whole experience was the staff! Incredibly humble and helpful to say the least. We brought our elderly friend who suffers from fibromyalgia and they helped him so much. Be it assisting him walking to breakfast or even bringing him meals to his room at no cost. They even drove him halfway around the island to take him to the clinic. We tried to tip them multiple times for helping him and they refused, one young man even said we are all family so he wanted to help because it was the right thing to do... How amazing is that. I can't remember the names of the staff but I believe it was the manager that spoke very good english, anyhow he was very informative and answered every question we had about the island, very intelligent man and great soccer coach from what I could tell. He was teaching some local boys how to play right next door to the bungalows on his time off. Thankfully these boys were available when our kayak trip in the ocean nearly swept us into the open sea.

We brought our own kayaks, an inflatable one and a catamaran, neither were a good idea. Our sail malfunctioned on the catamaran and the inflatable didn't let water escape so we got into some trouble. Long story short we barely beached, after four miserable hours of fighting waves and currents, about half a klick from the resort. 4 or 5 local kids playing soccer all came down and swam this 20ft catamaran with a broken rutter and sail back to the resort through very rock water and 5ft swells for us. We payed them for their trouble and they almost didn't take the money even then!

As guests at Tropical beach resort we were treated so well, too well in fact. We felt like the worst guests they have probably had in a long time and they never complained, they never even stopped smiling. We loved our stay here and will always stay here whenever we return to Koh Chang.

Such a beautiful and quiet resort directly on the beach. Elegant and romantic accomodation, very clean and everybody was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fresh and very nice too!
