Taksin Maharat National Park

We really liked this National Park. The forest is very loud (cicadas), and it’s very enjoyable to listen to. Lots of mushrooms and absolutely beautiful 😍 acorns. The trees, flowers and other plants are gorgeous too. And, of course, the famous 700 year old tree.A must see! 🌳We had a lovely picnic during the rain (there are many tables around the campground). Highly recommend 👍🏻 for anyone who loves nature.

High in the mountains. Fresh air and it's not hot. Good for camping. There is a trail in the forest to the waterfall, about 45 minutes walk.

Enjoyed the visit, but beware: To get to the tree is a 400m steep and tiring walk down from the closest parking stop. Come early, bring water, and enjoy the hot and sweaty walk down, but even more the walk back up ;)

This park is high up in the mountains. The birds are always singing and if you're patient, you'll see them.Some of the walking trails seem to be out of service at the moment. This park is definitely worth the visit if you're in the area. There are cabins there and we saw some campers as well.

I camp in this place and my car got battery prpblem, however the staff of national park are very helpful and act fast.

The place is nice and clean. And good for trip with family.

The park was a pleasant surprise, even though it also suffers from the same xenophobic pricing policy as the rest of Thailand (40 Baht for Thai, 200 for foreigners). We walked down the road because we didn't know where the trail started, but it turned out that the road actually offers a nice view over the park. Once on the trail, we were fully immersed in the tropical forest. We had the entire park to ourselves for 5 hours, bar crossing 5 people who were on the way back up from the Krabach tree. The waterfall was also a very tranquil place to be, and we heard many (and saw some) birds while making our way past the great trees and bamboo.

Check the map in the photos of this review, you can either drive to the parking spot close to the tree, or walk down the road instead, or head down the trail from the headquarters. The trail is clearly barely used, but it's a lot of fun because of it. It's not difficult, but the 3.5 km total length (2.5 from hq to the tree, 1 from the tree to the waterfall) takes a lot longer than expected.

This national park is still preserved its natural resources. Well maintained by Thai government.

Nice place and campground. High season is in December. Crowded on sat and sun. Toilet is clean. One of safely campground.

The environment is very good, a senenery is very beautiful.
