Makro Udon Thani

Wow is a very very big super market and many items are very cheap ( wholesale prices ).

As these kinds of supercenter/grocery/shopping experiences go, Makro is just fine. They usually have plenty of cashiers working, the prices are often the cheapest in town, and there is a massive array of items to choose from.

You can most western amenities in food here . Be aware that things are not stocked reliably. What you find there one time may not be available the next so if it's important to you when it's there stock up. Also nobody's going to be able to help you to find anything in there. Especially not Western type amenities. Prices our reasonable so it's about the best game in town but remember everything will not be there every time and you're going to have to find it yourself and things are often put in very odd places. I was trying to find muesli cereal and they had cereal on the aisle but there was no cereal to be found there. Upon looking down every aisle I did finally find it. So don't give up, have patience, look everywhere. You will find most things. That is if they are still in stock. I like to get Maple syrup, they only have imitation. Found it there once, in an odd place, but they've been out of stock for the last three visits. That's pretty typical. Try it if you like it and you want it stock up. I've taken to taking pictures to show me where I can find things as the staff is of no help whatsoever.

Very nice. Very big parking lot. Plenty of room in the aisles. Things are easy to find. They also have a large selection of foods. I'm not a big fan of having to buy 3 items when I only need one. Not all products are like this, but things like deodorant or katchup is.

Standard makro set up , prices can be good but you need to know comparison with Lotus/Big C to ensure best value. Dont need credit card as cash accepted and usually parking ok unless holiday time .

One stop shop for everything you need

GREAT competition for Lotus and Big C. Grocery area is especially good. Produce weigh-is confusing the first time but watching others gives you the clues you need. Their seafood selection is great and they will filet your fish properly. Everything looks fresh and clean. The day I went was some sort of food exhibit and there were 20 or 30 vendors lined up inside along an aisle. I got a good pizza and the best coffee I've had in Thailand (from Takai Cafe), maybe anywhere. I went back for a second and third cup, it was so good. I drink just coffee, no cream or sugar, and I enjoyed that coffee immensely.

Huge hyper market for professionals and non professionals.
Huge choice of foods and others, Good prices for most part of items.
The wait to pay at the checkouts can be long

Good for the large consumer, resellers. Here you buy in large quantities. There is a correspondingly good selection of products. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Wholesale market, but you can buy smaller quantities also. Membership card is needed sometimes, depends on cashier. You can get the card from infodesk for one time or fulltime. Great variety of products and western/foreign section is growing every year. My favourite groceries shop!

Typical cash and carry. Much used by Thais. It does have the benefit of excellent Bakery, Fruit and Veg, Fish and Meat Counters for Expats. It also sell block cheese.

Convenient, wide variety, fair prices.
Food court is clean and there is a good variety of food.
There is also a Dunkin' Donuts and a cafe

I think I can get everything I need in there saves me lots of driving around udon thani gives me more time with our granson every one seams very helpful if you can not find what your looking for they know where to find it straight awayp

This big retailer can be compared to Costco. Great selection, and products that appeal to both wholesalers and consumers. Great prices.

Makro. What can I say but this place is awesome. Makro is like the Costco of Thailand, but you do not need to be a member to get great deals. Their products are diversified and their meats are great.
