Beautiful cave temple. You can visit the cave inside and visit many beautiful caves with various statues. In raining season you have to travel by boat to the inside, but today the entrance is dried up and we can walk. You can also walk up to the top of the mountain. In the back the way up was very rocky and not easy to walk on. I turned back. There is also a way up in the front. It was a long way drive from Sattahip, but I enjoyed it.

Wat Tham Khao Prathun

Tham Khao Prathun Temple Natural Learning Center is a place of meditation located at high rocky mountain. There are canyons and small caves hidden inside. During the dry season, you can walk to the cave. You can see the beauty of nature within a few meters. But the specialty is during the rainy season where rainwater will flow from a high place into the path making the path into a small underground city. You have to take a boat through the cave where you can feel the shady, peaceful and admirable beauty of nature.

There is a large Buddha image in front. On the side there is a small cave where many Buddha images are enshrined for people to worship. Next to it is an artesian tunnel that connects to the other side where we have to take a boat. Through the cave on the other side, a distance of almost 300 meters, which looks like a canyon. There is a wide courtyard overlooking the trees and the sky, which has adjusted the area to look clean harmonious with nature. Inside there is a small cave used for dharma practice. In the cave, the temple installed the light along the way, which we can see without having to rely on a flashlight. Here the weather is nice and cool. Especially the canyon with the greenery of trees and rocks that look comfortable. Back outside, there are also monkeys and fish ponds to watch.

Tham Prathun Monastery or Wat Tham Khao Prathun Was discovered in 1987 as a mountain located in an area surrounded by water, about 60 centimeters deep. It is a dense forest surrounding the hill. There are many wild fruits and in the year 1992, Phra Ajahn Santi Santachitto (current abbot) came to see that this place is peaceful and suitable for dharma practice. Therefore, the reconstruction of the place had begun. Then, in the year 1995, there was an exploration of the area around the cave. It is calm and around the cliff there was a continuous wind blowing out. The cave area inside is very suitable for practicing dharma. People who live near the temple helped to dig the soil inside the cave. The digging was completed in 1996 with a depth of about 130 meters.

The temple is intricately built into the cave, creating a unique and fascinating structure.

Many aspects of this temple are awe-inspiring. Caution is advised while trekking up the hill to reach the pinnacle as the terrain is quite rugged, comprised of sharp stones that can be uncomfortable for your feet.

It's recommended to wear sneakers and long pants. I didn't muster the courage to explore the upper cave due to the lack of safety signs.

A very interesting and impressive place. I recommend visiting. Beautiful grottoes and rocks and most importantly free. We visited the place as a family with children. Pleasant and unobtrusive staff. There were a lot of good photos and impressions left.

A nice Wat built around and in the mountain. There are many caves with shrines and figures throughout. Much of it can easily be seen but there are parts that require more time and walking. Worth a visit.

The temple is shady and quiet, besides having a beautiful Buddha image. There is also a walking path for cave tours and naturally beautiful stalagmites and stalactites.

If you love caves, they are easy to visit even in flip flops, but if you visit them all, and if you are not fit, the day after you will discover muscles that you didn't know you had :)

Super nice caves with a lot to explore. You can go into a cave then you come out into an open crater completely fenced off by rocks

This is a temple located inside a mountain. Yes it's inside a limestone mountain. When you arrive there, you'll have to walk past a Naga down a cave and ride a boat during the rainy season. The boat ride will take you through a cave and you'll come out in an open space inside the mountain where there are several cave networks that have shrines inside. It's a unique and awesome temple.

This temple has it all it has friendly monkeys (don't feed them) a underground tunnel, lots of caves, a stair around the mountain and more caves. If you scared of tunnels and water don't go the tunnel is very low and they push the small boat for about 5 minutes. If you want to see the amazing caves on the other side you can climb over the mountain but just a warning this is not easy. I did only meet one person on my way up and there is no stairs just some ropes and stuff you really need to climb you be sweaty and dirty. The view point is not much to see you will see the parking not much else. So if you want the easy way just go for the tunnel. Its free to go inside, you should tip the people who push the boats like 50 THB or something.

Very nice and quiet spot (Covid19), atmospheric, though too many 'disco lights' on the Buddha statues, boat into the cave 'tip' 100B per boat
