Certainly a lot of monkeys at the entrance of the trail near the temple. Moderate yet quite intense hike maybe about 20 minutes and you’ll get to the other side of Ao Nang by Centara. Mostly only stairs, some area are quite steep and narrow hence not easy to pass when other people are on the trail. Elderly and people with mobility issues shouldn’t do this trail.

People thinking this is a hard trek clearly haven’t been to the tiger temple🤣

The monkeys are mainly at the start, sometimes on the trail. DO NOT FEED THEM, if you are stupid enough to do so, you’ll get fined.

The trail is about 5 minutes of stairs up, flat then down, to a private beautiful beach.

If you're under 70, you can easily do this trail. It mainly consists of stairs, but if you come before noon it's rather quiet, and you can take plenty of breaks. You don't need hiking shoes either, that's overkill. Locals do it barefoot. It's rather short, offers plenty of nice views, and the monkeys are friendly in the sense that they really don't care about you. If you offer them water from your bottle, they might even stop for a drink, but you're not allowed to feed them :)

It’s a nice trail but keep in mind not really easy. Quite steep and not safe. Lots of space between steps, easy to slip. It’s fun just be really really careful. We were able to see monkeys, very cute and fun just don’t feed them like many others tourists do.

Really fun way to spend 30 mins or so. You do have to cross a bridge over an open sewer to get to the start of the trail, which smells unpleasant for a few minutes, but the rest of the trail is fine. I broke my flip flops doing the walk so would advise you wear sturdier shoes or sandals. The monkeys all gathered by the start of the trail so we saw loads on the steepest bit and then none the rest of the way. When you get to the end you sign in with a security guard (free of charge) and then can enjoy Pai Plong beach. It was too hot for us so we returned to Ao Nang beach and enjoyed a fresh coconut by one of the beach stalls. A lovely reward for a somewhat sweaty hike (we went at the end of March when it was hoooottt). Definitely do this if you’re in the area.

Fun trail, have seen at least 30 apes, maybe even more. Easy to take pictures because they’re not afraid of humans. I’ll recommend not to feed the apes, that’s the moment they get rude. The climb is easy and you get to a beach with a fantastic view. Great to take some pictures at the beach. Most apes are at the beginning of the stairs, they hope to get some food there so if you want to take pictures with them, do it at the beginning and hold your phone tight. Trail takes about 10 minutes to go one way, it’s not too hard, everyone can at least try it.

We went at 9am ish there were lots of monkeys. There were some people feeding them . Some of the big males were super aggressive. Definitely watch for the monkeys if you’re wearing a back pack as the associate backpacks with food. So they will jump on you if you’re not watching. Got great photos. We didn’t walk the trail we just went to the entrance of the trail where the shrine is a little bridge over the creek.

10 min of mostly up and down steps. The monkeys are mostly at the beginning of the trail. They don’t really come up to you if you don’t bother them which was something we were worried about after hearing stories of monkeys biting and stealing. Beautiful beach at the end of the trail.

A great walk! We didn't see any monkeys at the time. Be prepared for a walk! It's not an easy walk, so if you struggle, be careful. At the other side there is a great beach!.

Lots of monkeys mainly at the start of the trail. A challenging climb in some places on makeshift stairs and bamboo canes. The reward at the end is a brilliant beach. Make sure you bring plenty of water.

You should not miss this small hike through the forest to the private beach from Ao Nang. There were some monkeys at the start of trail from Ao nang side where people feeding them and making pictures, after that its trail with another people passing by. Very easy hike and the views are well worthy! Best to not feed monkeys or touch them. Be respectful and enjoy the nature. Duration to another side 10 min max.

One of the most amazing places to visit! Monkeys are incredibly sweet and not at all aggressive towards humans as some have pointed out. Oh, and did I mention it’s free? An experience not to miss!

This is a fantastic walk, I have done it 3 times now and have seen a large monkey family everytime. You are almost 100% guaranteed to see them! It is an incredible experience, best part is that it’s FREE! If you do the trail walk, it is steep stairs but it only takes 10mins max. Totally worth it! And the beach you get to is stunning!

Great little walk to Pai Plong beach, which is beautiful. About 150 steps and then down. Lots of monkeys guarding the entrance. Much nicer than Ao Nang beach. It’s a private resort, but the beach is public. Do it

An incredibly fun and short, 10 minute walk through the forest next to the beach.

The route is constructed with wooden walkways and steps and a path reinforced with sandbags.

We saw a lot of monkeys, They are not shy.
One monkey stole the candy right out of our closed bag so be warned.

Not very technical, but on a warm day it is a bit exhausting due to the heat.

I was there twice and there were never any monkey. Not surprised by that if people throw their plastic trash all on this path. It’s a very short path and yet people still throw plastic on the path!!! STOP LITTERING THE NATURE AND SHOW SOME RESPECT!!! YOU WOULDNT WANT TRASH TO BE THROWN IN YOUR HOME COUNTRIES NATURE!!!

A visit to Ao Nang beach, Krabi is incomplete if you don't go to this trail. It's a gentle trail with steps made of wooden slats on the rocky hill side. At 2 or 3 places one may find it steep but such stretches are very small, may be around 60 meters in all out of total 800 metre trail/trek. Best part of the trail is, it's through a forest which provides protection from sun.
The trail ends in a small but beautiful beach. It's pristine and quiet. The slope is very gentle. You have to walk 50 meters to get into waist deep water. You can spend hours together and there is hardly any noise.
I spotted a few people kayaking in the sea.
The only thing you should be careful of on the trail is monkeys. There are quite a few of them, the entire family of tiny small ones clinging on to their mother. My advice is, don't look at them, don't engage with them, no feeding, no taking photos etc. Just ignore them, they won't do anything to you. Do keep your belongings secured so that they don't snatch.
If in Krabi, 'monkey trail' is a must go place. Get your swimming stuff ready when going there.

Easy but steep "hike" lots of spaces between steps so I wouldn't go unless you have a steady balance. Monkeys only kick it at the bottom of the trail if you mind your business and don't feed them they won't mess with you. Saw a guy feed them with a baby and the monkey hopped onto the baby and scared the poor thing

Great place to see some dumb tourists getting jumped by a bunch of monkeys when they try to feed them bananas.

The trail runs between 2 beaches and requires a bit of effort;)
