We had a wonderful stay with the most helpful and friendly staff. Thanks especially to James for helpful tips and being who he is. The food was great and the beaches wonderful. The snorkeling was nice but the visibility varying. We would definitely come again. Thank you Moken.

An incredible experience for me and my family. The staff were endlessly helpful, the rooms were so beautiful and simple, the beach and surrounding islands are dreamy.

The transfers were easy and the Pineapple given to us before boarding the boat to the island was so thoughtful.

We hope yo be able to return one day and have been recommending to everyone.

WOW, just wow! My 6th time to Thailand over the last 27 years. Seen much change and been to some amazing places!! Moken eco lodge is an absolute jewel of a place! I can honestly say it’s probably been the top location I’ve had the good fortune of visiting! We were there 8 nights. The team could not have been more amazing. My wife managed to get an infected blister just before we arrived. Nothing was to much, they took her to the health centre each day, got us medication. James even played Dr, for Lisa!! I know Thai hospitality is amazing, but these guys go the extra distance and become friends. Amazing people, amazing location, amazing experience. thanks James, Pam, James’s Wife (Sorry, don’t think we got your name) and the whole team for such a stunning experience!! Currently en-route to Phuket. Only left a couple of hours ago. Already want to go back!

A paradise for couples as well as for families.
Our family of three visited this wonderful place for the fifth time this February. The first year, our daughter was five years old and we booked a stay for five weeks at this one single place. We made this decision based on the beautiful understanding and clear responses we received via email to our innumerable questions. Still, we had some worries: would it work without a pool when our daughter yet couldn’t swim? Would our daughter eat the food? Would we start to get restless? But oh, how our decision to land at this resort for rest and adventure paid off!
We didn’t miss a pool one moment. On the contrary, the place feels more restful without it. The nice long shallow sea bay is a fantastic asset for a family with children. Our daughter took her first swims between us right here. During our five stays here, with a total of 140 days, we have only been troubled by sandflies during a total of three days.
And ah, the food…, the food is delicious. This restaurant has without a doubt the best and, at the same time, the most affordable food on the island. The chef, together with her team, creates amazing, tasty, and exquisitely beautiful expressions of genuine Thai cuisine. Also, you never hear a harsh or stressful word from the kitchen even when the guests are many and the orders pile up. The chef consistently creates a kind and supportive vibrations for her co-workers. The kitchen also has western dishes on the menu, and if you ask for thin "Swedish pancakes", you may have them. For the last years, we have had all our meals at their restaurant - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Actually, the food plays a large part in the kind of support and care that sustains us throughout the vacation.
As for restlessness, this turned out to also not be a problem. The place invites us to find calm together with nature. We usually borrow one of the kayaks provided free of charge to go on daily small expeditions in this tropical paradise. The quiet bay is enclosed by two small islands with nice beaches, and around the islands there are easily accessible coral reefs for snorkelling (snorkelling gear is provided free of charge). The water is a little more still (smaller waves) on these beaches which allows for play and exploration, should the smaller children like that. There is also another beach to the left in the bay with long shallow water. A couple of times per stay we book an activity with the place's local guide. Safari tour, jungle trekking, visiting bat caves or boat trip to large coral reefs, to name a few. When evening and night falls, you are only surrounded with the sound of breaking waves, birds and insects. This allows for deeply restorative sleep.
Regarding the label “Eco”, that is clearly not only for show. The family that owns the resort grows most of the vegetables and fruits served at the resort. They pick coconuts on the island and prepares them to get coconut milk for to boil sticky rice, and even to produce their own coconut oil which is used by the masseuse and for frying in the kitchen. They prepare their homemade tamarind sauce as well as marmalades for breakfast. They even grow and pick roses in order to make their own soap and shampoo for all the houses at the resort. This part of the island still doesn’t have electricity, but they have solar panels to give the necessary service. There are fans in the bungalows, but we never use them since the architecture allows for the soft warm wind to blow right through the house. Remarkable!
Finally, it must be mentioned that the service is exceptional. The kind hearts of the owners are easily noticed. They take good care of the staff, the nature and the guests.
We have already booked for the next year.

This was our second visit to Moken Eco Village, with my family and three kids and we think that this is possibly one of our favourite places in the world!! The beach, the bay, the perfect position of the islands, the clear water, the soft sand, the whispering of the sea pines, the sunsets - it is just paradise!

The huts are very tastefully interspersed between the trees, so that they cannot be seen from the water but that each balcony has a view of the sea. They are large, comfortable and simply but stylishly decorated. They are cleaned every day and are cool with natural breezes and fans.

There are beach loungers with gorgeous white fabric curtains to create shade which are perfect for whiling away hours. There are kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels free to use, to explore the surrounding islands. We also did a great tour to a further afield island for snorkelling and did a rainforest trek - super experience.

The food is delicious and there is a wide choice on the menu. The breakfast is varied and very well managed. The whole team are incredibly friendly, kind and engaging and spent hours hanging out with our kids and entertaining them with stories and games. Pam was incredibly helpful in making any arrangements we needed. There was a lovely vibe amongst all the staff, giving the feel that they are all part of one big family.

Some people might find the lack of wifi and plug sockets in the rooms (only USB chargers) an inconvenience.

We spent a heavenly eleven days here and hope to return again - a perfect reset! Thank you Team Moken!

I'm soooo in loved with this resort!!!!
All is so good, nice lodges and well design (even though no air con), excellent view in every moment of each day, superb hostage from all staffs. And super delicious food from the restaurant, if you are Thai pls try local menu which I love several of them like Hokkian noodle (ผัดหมี่ฮกเกี้ยน), pork stir fried with koey (หมูผัดน้ำเคย)

I loved my stay here. It’s very simple and relaxed, but very well done for the price. The rooms are big with high ceilings. The service from James and the team was great, and I was really impressed with the food for such a small island and especially as it was low occupancy. It’s the perfect place to kick back and not do much. I definitely can’t wait to go back

Pam and her staff have got this place almost perfect.
Nature has provided a beautiful beach and lovely seas with a couple of good snorkelling spots.
The resort staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The food is good and tasty.
The spacious wooden bungalows are shaded amongst the pine trees to keep cool (no air con as no mains electricity).
Nature at its best, quiet, peaceful and an escape from the real world.
A few bugs (this year it was a frog in our room) and limited connectivity don't seem to matter here.

By far the best place we stayed on our trip. The island is simply stunning and with fewer than 300 tourists at a time, it feels like you have the place to yourself. At the time we stayed at Moken, they had only 20 guests. The staff are friendly. The rooms are clean. The food is amazing, some of the best we had in Thailand and the views and quiet makes Moken Eco Village a very special place. I'd definitely recommend taking the fishing trip as you get to eat your catch and we managed some delicious red snapper and squid - that was a highlight for us!! On the last day here we took a beautiful sunrise walk along the beach, about 3km and my partner proposed. Thank you to Pam, James and Yai for a wonderful trip. We will be back!!:)

We stayed here for 3 nights. The bungalows are huge and completely screened off. There is 24 hour power provided by solar panels.
The staff here is amazing. The atmosphere is very relaxed. If you want to get away from the crowds this is the place to be. There are also cabanas, kayak and snorkeling gear you can borrow.
We took a tour to the Surin Islands, organized by the resort. The boat operator was extremely informative, friendly and attentive to the children on board.

Wonderful resort! Our bungalow was as beautiful as on the pictures and we could see and hear the ocean from bed. Snorkeling or kayaking directly from the beach was easy and awesome too. The staff was also super friendly and attentive. We regretted staying only two nights. We stayed here end of January 2016. Hope we will be back at some point.

What a magical place.
We just anchored the boat out front and went in for cold drinks. Couldn't believe how affordable the place was. Resorts usually charge exorbitant prices. Here they were the same prices you would find at a local restaurant. The staff in the restaurant area were polite and cheerfull. We will be back to stay a few days in their beautiful bungalows.

Wonderful resort on a wonderful island. The bungalows are beautifully crafted and well designed. Staff are great, as is the food in the restaurant. Good for vegan / vegetarian. Great breakfast also included. Lots of hammocks and day beds by the beach to enjoy and snorkeling is nice on the nearby pling islands (free kayaks). We also did the savannah tour and saw an amazing selection of birds including kite, kingfisher, hornbill, owls, parrots and more. Enjoy spotting the massive heritage crabs by torchlight. So quiet and peaceful, I'm sorry to have to leave this great place!!

If you are looking for somewhere that is away from the touristy places of Southern Thailand this is the place for you! It is a peaceful, eco, wonderful family run hotel with individual beach huts in an unspoilt area. We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights and it was complete bliss.
Canoes, swimming and relaxing.

Highlight of our trip to Thailand. A must for the traveller looking to avoid the tourist trap that invades most of Thailand. It's authentic. Beautiful and quiet. Oh, and the food is fantastic. We took a gamble booking this place as the pictures don't do it justice, it has a few stars, but so glad we did it. Will be talking about this unique place for a long time.

Can't praise this venue highly enough. Everything top notch; staff, ambiance, food, location, masseuse, bungalows and cocktails. Pricing very reasonable. Excursions lots of fun. Do yourself the biggest favour for the most amazing wind-down.

The location and the bungalows blew us away. Very good value for money. Paradise in an otherwise packed with tourists Thailand. Good food, excellent staff, dreamy bungalows. We are coming back. This was everything a real vacation should have.
