Wat Maduea Wan

It's a nice temple to visit, but the most notable thing here is not a temple itself but a huge beautiful stairs decorated with dragons which you should definitely check out. It's a good place to take some pictures and the entrance is free.
Few dogs are living here and they may bark at you but they are not dangerous.

I was welcomed by a monk near the entrance. There are a few monks out at midday.
Climb the naga staircase to a temple at the top for a meditation.
There are mangosteen trees around— I saw a local going around looking up at them. The fruit is green on the tree — I wonder when it turns ripe?

We visited here it was hot and quiet no one to be seen, we guessed that because Ko phangan is a party island no one comes to visit the nice temples.

We loved it though, whole place to ourselves with peace to look around at the magical design of the place!

Would definitely recommend and it’s free to everyone.

Beautiful temple in the middle of the island. I wouldn’t say this is a place to go as a tourist but rather a place to spend time as a practitioner. There are good meditation spaces and welcoming monks full of love and compassion. If you do make it, please be respectful of the place.
