Khao Laem Mountain Trek

Khao Laem mountain trek was great.
From a start on the more quiet side of Koh Chang island, we went all the way up to one of the highest peak of the island.
Parts of the trail can be quite steep and possibly slippery when wet.
The view at the top is majestic for a lunch break! Also if you are lucky, you may be able to encounter some monkeys, spiders, birds, mushrooms and others along the way. If not during the dry season, you can enjoy a swim in the water fall at the end of it all.
Note that you are supposed to go with a local guide and the trail is actually not really well marked anyway. Thomas was our guide. He was great. Very knowledgeable and accommodating.

เป็นการเดินป่าที่รู้สึกถึงธรรมชาติมากๆ แทบจะไม่เห็นขยะที่พื้นเลบ ป่ายังสวยงามมากๆค่ะ แต่ทางเดินก็เหนื่อยเอาเรื่องเลย 555 กลับมาจะครบสัปดาห์แล้วขายังไม่หายปวด แต่ก็นับเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ดีมากๆค่ะ ลองมาเดินกันดู

วิวเปิดสวยงาม สามารถมองเห็นได้ทั้งพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นและพระอาทิตย์ตก

- เดินได้ทั้งไปกลับทางเดิม หรือขึ้นทางลงทาง
- ยอดสูงสุดเกาะช้างคือเขาใหญ่ ต้องเลยเขา แหลมขึ้นไปราว 400 เมตร
- จับระยะทางได้ 7.4 กม. (เดินเป็นวงกลม)
ใช้เวลา 4 ชม. ครึ่ง
- ส่วนใหญ่เดินในป่า มีวิวสวยๆ 2-3 จุดเท่านั้น
- มีสัญญานเน็ตตลอดทาง
- ควรใส่เสื้อผ้าแขนยาวขายาว เพราะทางรกมากๆๆๆ มีแมลง ยุง รวมทั้งทาก
- ทางเดินไม่ชัดเจน หลงได้ง่าย ต้องมีคนนำทาง
- ไม่อนุญาตให้พักค้างแรม

นับว่าเป็นป่าที่เดินยาก ทางเดินไม่ชัดเจน หินลื่นทุกก้อน พื้นดินปกคลุมไปด้วยใบไม้ที่ทับถมกันหนา แถมเสียพลังไปกับการมุด การหลบหลีกกิ่งไม้ การโดนหนามเกี่ยว แถมต้องเดินแบบ 1 day trip เท่านั้น ร่างกายจึงถูกใช้หนักไม่ใช่เล่น แต่จุดชมวิวก็สวยดีทีเดียว ถ้าได้นอนสักคืนเพื่อซึมซับก็คงดี

สายเดินป่าไม่ควรพลาดครับ

We heard this was a well marked track you could do on your own, so we were pretty gutted when we drove all the way out there only to find signs saying do not enter. When we went to the ranger station after seeing the sign, the ranger was very nice but said you must take a guide, for 1200 baht per person. This must have changed recently and is just a typical money grab. As people who hike regularly, we don't mind paying a national park entry fee but find having to take a guide on a posted track to be a bit much, especially at that price... so we didn't go. Pretty disappointed.

You can not enter on your own, just if you hire a guide.
As a person who hikes regularly, I really don't need guidance on a hike like this.
Most annoying part is that there are not much information online about these great news, so we went all the way here, just to find out, you have to eather risk a fat fine or hire a guide...

Having to pay to do a mediocre hike is a joke, sort it out Thailand you’re better than that.

Why charge!? No need for a guide

Absolute abzocke. 1200 Baht MUSS man bezahlen um einen Führer mitzunehmen den es nicht benötigt. Absolut nicht wert das ganze. Geht man allein muss man mit einer Geldstrafe von 100000 Baht rechnen. Absolut irre und an der Realität vorbei. Ich seh es ja ein Eintritt in den Nationalpark zu zahlen und da zahl ich ja schon das 5 fache mehr als ein Thai aber das hier ist absolut überzogen für einen Weg auf dem man nicht wierklich einen Führer braucht.
