U-Tapao–Rayong–Pattaya International Airport

Airport looks a bit old, but it is ok. I really loved that in currency exchange office they don’t take any commission, rate obviously is not the best but it is acceptable. And!
Toilets are clean! That’s important when you arrive to a new country.
7/11 mini market is literally across the street. You can buy SIM card there.
And duty free store is a bit cheaper the. I. Dubai.

Visited the U-Tapao–Rayong–Pattaya International Airport domestic terminal for my flight to Phuket via Bangkok Airways. The airport serves Rayong and Pattaya cities.

Small Airport nothing more than one small coffee shop.......clean and quiet...good for fast checking

Very good domestic airport... Food and drinks available through vending machines... all check-in before 2 hrs before flight time... 45 min- 1 hour drive from pattaya city

An easy gateway into and out of, Pattaya City, far less chaotic than going via either one of the Bangkok airports. U-tapao Airport, equals, User-Friendly ...

This airport is renovating place, It is very convinient if we flight from Hatyai International Airport to there, and go to Pattaya, Chon Buri, Rayong.

This is a small airport. it's one of my favorite airports. They're currently expanding it. This was the airport used during the Vietnam war by the United states. It is close to rayong and about an hour south of Pattaya, a huge entertainment area in Thailand. A great airport. Still fast and efficient. Not completely open but avoids the busy Bangkok airport. Love this airport. Limited taxis available including grab and bolt. Now with 7-Eleven and Amazon across the street. Only flies to about four airports but my number one pick.

I think that the Airport will be better than Phuket Airport.

A small airport, clean, and what we especially liked was the kind, polite airport staff, absolutely all of us politely met and said goodbye, everywhere they told us where to go next.

Good kind service from all the staff. Fast thru vaccine check and bag check.
Tip check in online if you can and know bag sizes and weight pay extra in adv of you need to. Airport super clean.

Used this airport for a domestic flight to Phuket.....wow.....if only every airport could be this good. Very quite so that obviously helped but check in was very efficient and with Bangkok Airways there were free snacks and tea, coffee at the departure gate....Ryanair could learn a lot from Bangkok Airways. Would certainly use this airport again and glad we used it instead of going all the way to Bangkok.

I personally don't like this airport because of the manners of its workers. They clearly don't see us (non native speakers) as someone who should be served, just come to Thailand after transit 2 times at Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.

But this airport stils has menu that is cheap enough for us budget travelers

A petit airport, clean, modern, pretty relaxing place. Immigration, security quick and efficient. The staff everywhere polite. In the departure lounge, one small coffee bar, and unusually, sparrows flying about! How nice.
