I had very specific places I needed to visit. I was doing location research for my next novel. Niram made it happen. From the moment I met him I knew I was in good hands. As a former Buddhist Monk he shared insights into Buddhism and Thai culture. I left Niram that day, not as a tour guide but as a friend.

We had the most amazing trekking experience with Niran (Tony) in Chiang Rai. He is so knowledgeable and happily answered all of our questions about the hill tribes and Thai culture in general. The trekking route was treacherous at times, but we felt completely safe with someone so experienced. As part of the excursion, we were cooked a delicious lunch by a local in a bamboo hut which was a real highlight! Tony also swung by a temple on the way back and continued to share his knowledge of it's origin with us. I'd recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the hill tribes in an ethical manner, while learning more about the local way of life in Thailand. Thank you Tony for a great day!

Have known Tony for a few year's now and highly recommend going on a tour with him or any of locals that help him. An interesting day especially and he has a great knowledge of local culture, for me also Buddhism and finding great coffee shops. Hands down one of the best things we did on our trip. Tony, our guide, was easy to communicate with (his English is very good) when planning our tour with him and even provided for a vegetarian option for lunch on our trip. My partner and I opted for the one-day-trekking tour. Apart from the trek itself being cool, Tony also explained loads along the way about the life of the hill tribe people and the local flora and fauna. I would definitely recommend booking a trip with him!

We had an amazing day with our wonderful, friendly, and very informative guide, Mei. We saw White Temple, Black House, Tea Plantation, Golden Triangle, Mei Sae Border, Blue Temple at sunset, and Huay Plakang temple at night. It was a very full but fun day. We definitely recommend Lanna Tours. We hope to return and meet Mei again.

We spent 3 days with Tony - one day trekking, one day touring and a third day with a custom activity he arranged for us based on our interest in Thai food. All three were excellent (as was all the food and coffee). We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Lanna Cultural Tours. He is knowledgeable on a wide range of topics, from history to agriculture, reliable and a safe driver, and made our time in Chiang Rai special
and memorable. In short, the best guide ever. I hope to return to Chiang Rai to explore more with Tony in the future!

Tony is a wonderful, caring, thoughtful, and knowledgeable guide. He was very accommodating and flexible on the tours I booked (2 day trek, 1 day sight seeing, and 2 day custom tour) and very reasonable with the price. In many years of travel, this was one of our best guided tour experiences ever. Niran (Tony by his English name) is an expert guide and great company.
Along with my husband and son, I enjoyed his wisdom and knowledge, traveling to the Golden Triang, Mae Sai, Chiang Saen, the Black House and the White Temple.
But we received so much more: wonderful conversation about Buddhism in an ancient temple (Niran had been a monk for years), insights on north Thailand’s Lanna culture and on the neighboring countries, local tips, wonderful lunch in a simple family restaurant, the best coffee stops. We very warmly recommend this wonderful guide.

It was great 2 days and 1 night with very nice people. My husband and I wanted to experience something not touristy but natural and cultural so we found Lanna Cultural Tour and it was a perfect choice!
We had our guide, Chaha, who is awesome. Trekking with him, we were able to see breath-taking scenery and another beauty of Thailand. He knew the area well and told us lots of stories about the area. What we were amazed about him, he is very handy! He made us a flute with a bamboo stick and two cute bamboo rings for us! He only used his two hands and a knife! On the second day, we stopped in the middle of rice field. There, he and his friend cooked lunch with bamboo and it was one of the best meal that we ever had in Thailand.(If you are hesitating to apply for this tour, seriously, you should do it only for this.)
Also, we really enjoyed staying at his house. He and his son cooked for us and the food was so fantastic that we couldn't stop eating. During the night, the sky was full of stars, which neither of us had seen that many stars in our life. It was unbelievably beautiful. Since it was lunar new year when we visited the village, luckily we were able to join them for celebration. It was great experience.
Except those things that I mentioned, there were so many more great moments in the trekking tour. We really appreciate for our guide's effort and for great tour program. We highly recommend this and would love to try it again!

Wonderful place to be. The only place where you can experience authentic Thai country life style. Moreover, there are many outdoor activities to do such as walking tour bicycling, meditation and more.

Just a perfect service. We took two full day tours around Chiang Rai region. Fully satisfied and even more! Highly recommended to everyone 😉
