เส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติแม่สะกึด (Mae Sakut Nature Trail)

A super nice trail for hiking. Expect a 3 hour duration. We came on motorbike, parked at Station 1. Some of the trail might be demolished by nature so you could be forced to make a small detour. Route is on outdooractive app, if you get lost or don’t want to cross creeks in difficult places.

It really annoys me that some people complain about the 200 bath entrance fee. This is very little to maintain the forest and invest in deforestation projects. The trail is wel marked with 15 information boards along the way. They also give you a map at the ticket office. We did the trail with a family of 4, 2 teenagers and truly enjoyed the trail. It is adventurous with many river crossings and a few waterfalls along the way. Lots of variety in terrain and vegetation. Final bit is 1/2 a mile road walk but the road is very good and there is hardly any traffic. We kind of enjoyed the road walk that led through green jungle area.

You can choose the short hike to the waterfall and back, but you can also do the full loop of 7,5km. Beautiful nature trail with several waterfalls and a view point. The trail is not hard, never extremely steep, and is in good condition. At the end you need to walk about 1,5km on the road to make it a loop.

If you stay at the Fern resort, the dogs will guide you on your way, which was extremely fun. Just clap your hands twice and they will be ready for action.

Entrance to the park is expensive: 200 TB for foreigners.

Beautiful trail. Takes about 2 hours. Entrance fee is 200 Bath and includes to drive up to the viewpoint. I recommend start early walking and bring mosquito spray. Its pretty steep uphill and can get very hot as its humid in the forest. Trail is in general well marked but sometimes you need to use your logic improvisation ;)

Gorgeous simple trail. I did the short one (1 hour)​ with my 7 &​ 5 year old. We actually spent more time at the fish pool at the head of the trail. There's​ a picnic bench by the pond. You can buy fish food for cheap. This place is right by the roadside but there's​ a parking. No human food available. This is a very pristine area so let's​ keep it clean and quiet.

I took the trail foolishly without adequate water and became unable to walk out. I was sitting trail side at 9pm when a rescue team arrived with much needed water. They then carefully escorted me out, returned my motorcycle and me to my hotel. These are great people that deserve our praise. Thank you to all for my rescue.

Prachtige tocht op pad dat soms wat uitdagend is. Route is goed te vinden en er staan informatie borden onderweg. Hele rondje vanuit het Fern Resort is 8.4 km waarvan 1.5 km over heel rustige asfalt en rest onverhard. JE bent zo 3.5 uur onderweg. Bijna 350 hoogte meters. Doe dus goede schoenen aan en neem wat water mee. Kosten 200 baht. Je mag alleen lopen al hadden wij een hond can het Resort mee als "gids".

Skutečně náročný trip. Vodu sebou. Je to na 3 hodiny a to se nesmíš flákat 😄

Schöner Trail, gute Wege und Beschilderungen. Haben mit schnellem Tempo insgesamt 2,5h für den Trail+ Rückweg auf der Straße gebraucht.

מסלול יפיפה! הליכה מעט מאתגרת אבל נעימה. יש מעט עליות וירידות וכמה פעמים בהם צריך לחצות את הנהר. השביל די ברור ( לא להתייאש במקודה מספר תשע פשוט לעלות דרך הסלעים הגדולים בנהר) . אל תוותרו על התרעננות בנהר הצונן .

Entrée payante. Un court ou long trail à faire. Pour le long nous avons mis 5heures en sachant que la terre glissait lors des descentes (tout dépend de la période des pluies) sympa à faire au cœur de la jungle ! Je ne le conseille quand même pas au grand débutant en marche.

Wonderful nature trail near maehongson city. The distance is about 5 km long. Beautiful local trees, plants and waterfalls. I had so much fun from this nature trail.

Très joli sentier, facile, en pleine forêt. Bien marqué et entretenu.

This trail is in keeping with some other general experiences in Thailand - safety and clarity is low, excitement and beauty is high!
I completed whole loop to station 17, and then a slightly disappointing half an hour down a road to finish. It took me around 4 hours. I’m an averagely fit 38year old.
Bring mosquito spray and plenty of water and a snack.
At times the trail was difficult to discern, traversing wet rocks over streams, or climbing over fallen logs, but if you follow your gut feeling and the general direction of travel, you’ll be fine. The signage was fairly limited, so felt at times like you’re on your own a bit tbh.
Some steep climbs, and steep drops.
I would say not for frail people, and with kids make sure they are careful, some big drops.

Lovely trail. Pretty straightforward to navigate. 3 hours maximum with plenty of breaks included. Entrance fee is 200b per person.

Could not share all opinion with previous reviews. If you call it “some route on the map” it is nice: jungle, several waterfalls, exotic trees.
But this is not royal project, trail in park, maintained path. My low score for this: low quality markers, no benches, dangerous downhill path. With fee 200 bat/person.

Recommendation: be prepared for 2.5h walk, take good tracking shoes, swimming suit (we swam twice in waterfalls), start early in dry season, lower your facility expectations :)

Rando super sympa. Des arbres imposants, de belles ambiances, un beau point de vue une belle cascade.... Mais ça fait un peu mal aux fesses de débourser 200 bath pour une belle ballade en forêt ! D'autant que le sentier et les panneaux ne sont pas entretenus!
