It’s a gorgeous temple. The architecture and the intricate details are just so beautiful.
You can easily spend 30 minutes around here and there are many cafes and restaurants around where you can have a coffee or a snack.
It’s easy to skip over temples in Thailand, especially after you’ve been to so many but this is one definitely cannot be missed!

So much art to see. You could easily spend 3 hrs here but no more than that is needed. 2 hours you will still see it all! It’s a must see with so much beauty and definitely do the art cave exhibit. Only 50 baht!! You can’t take picture inside the temple so do not miss out on the breathtaking art inside with all his unique ways of integrating modern times with ancient times. STUNNING

So very impressive. Unlike any temple you've ever seen before. The artist who is leading the construction and creation of this complex is beyond talented. I'd highly recommend going to the free gallery to see his work (just outside the exit). Definitely worth visiting. There's shops and food in the immediate surrounding area too.

Fee to enter: 100baht/foreigner

I was mesmerized when I first saw the White Temple in person. It was a beautiful and magnificent work of art! Every corner of the temple is beautifully designed with mirror chips and painted white. There's a koi pond at the entry way and a magnificent Golden Buddha statue in the main hall.

It was designed and built by one man - Mr Kositpipat, a Thai national artist. Behind the White Temple is a souvenir shop and an exhibit hall. There's also a man-made cave you can explore for a separate fee. I was also mind blown by house beautiful the golden building for the bathrooms!

This is by far, the most beautiful temple I have seen in Thailand so far.

Magnificent temple!! All white and big. It has different connecting buildings. When you come during a day, bring hat or umbrella. It is very hot to walk down the temple.

Entrance fee is 100 baht per person. The temple is connected to market and food court. Prices of souvenirs are also quite cheap.

Absolutely mesmerising!! The structure is absolutely amazing, there's a lot to cover. The entire place is beautifully planned and maintained. The cave art is really beautifully done up!

There are loads of restaurants nearby, so you can grab a quick coffee and lunch as well.

Gorgeous temple. I’ve been to a lot of temples in Asia and this one is by far my favourite. The architecture and detailing is just so beautiful. There’s a lot of interesting little sculptures scattered around as well. 100 baht entry fee for foreigners. Came around 4pm on a Thursday and there were only a handful of other people there. Spent about an hour walking around but definitely could have been here longer. It’s easy to skip over temples especially after you’ve been to so many but this is one you definitely can’t miss.

I fell in love with this wonderful and strong piece of art. Such a big site and since I was in a group tour I had to be fast and could not see everything. I love the art inside and out. And the cave. The museum with the beautiful art with a strong message. I would love to go back and I highly recommend it. Buy a book in the shop at the museum.

Not a true temple per se, this is a rendition of Hell and Heaven by a renowned artist. The place is huge, mostly white in colour except for the gold toilets and the Ganesh temple.

This is a must visit spot for Chiang Rai so the place was packed with Chinese tourists and locals. Couple of foreigners. My guide says the it’s worse on weekends and other major Chinese holidays like Spring Festival or local festivals like Yee Peng.

I really like the bridge near the entrance where you cross over symbolic “hell” depicted with thousands of outstretched hands, seeking to pull you down. After crossing the bridge, you enter “heaven” and the bliss is quite apparent.

Plan to spend an hour or so here.

Astounding beauty and artwork. We could have spent days exploring just the white temple alone. There are many other buildings to explore. Would love to go back, do not miss out!

Truly one of the most iconic temples in all of Southeast Asia, and an icon of Chiang Rai.

The White Temple is beautifully constructed and jaw dropping in real life, especially on a sunny day. It's located about 20 minutes south of the city center so it is a bit of a trek, but absolutely worth at least an hour of your day.

Admission is 100 baht into this complex with many photo ops and time for appreciating the stunning architecture. Be sure to explore the entire temple grounds and don't just end at the main attraction. Would absolutely return again in the future.

First of all, I'm not a 'Temple Person', but I'm really amazed by this White Temple. It's so stunning, amazing design and color themed. Many spots where you can take nice photos. People are a lot but still able to walk around and take many nice photos. It's definitely a must visit if you are coming to Chiang Rai.

Incredible place! The design and intricate details are truly unique and magnificent. I've become a huge fan of Master Chalermchai Kositpipat's art. Don't forget to explore the art gallery showcasing many of his drawings and paintings; I couldn't resist and ended up purchasing three prints for myself. It's an absolute must-visit – don't miss out on this remarkable place!

I visited this work of art over a weekday in October 2023.

Pros
1. Free parking
2. Entry 100 THB per person
3. The whole place is a photo spot
4. It is eye catching and has a detailed design. I liked the design and intricate details.
5. The toilets are at another level. The yellow building in the pictures is actually the toilet. It looks stunning.
6. There are several souvenirs and food shops on premise.

Considerations
1. The building is mostly open. Please carry an umbrella to save yourself from the Sun.
2. Please wear full length clothes.
3. The place is full of tourists, it might get crowded.
4. The place might not be considered as a temple for some people.

The White Temple. What a beautiful attraction and place to get some amazing photos.

Please note that to enter the Temple, you have to dress respectfully. That means no flio flops sunglasses.

For women, shoulders need to be covered and dressed or legs covered below the knees.

It is a Buddhist place of worship, and you need to respect this requirement. Otherwise, entry will be refused.

There is a 100 baht fee to enter the Temple, however, not to enter the grounds. You can easily see the Temple and take amazing photos. You would just need to pay to go inside.

One of the most beautiful temple in Thailand - Wat Rong Khun (White Temple)
A stunning temple in all white and sparkling porcelain. In front of the temple are hundreds of outreaching hands that symbolize unrestrained desire. To reach the main temple, there's a bridge that proclaims that the way to happiness is by foregoing temptation, greed, and desire. Next to the lake are two very elegant Kinnaree, half-human, half-bird creatures from Buddhist mythology. It's not allowed to take pictures inside the temple. The temple is truly stunning and it blows my mind with the details.

I went as early as 8:30am but it was already lots of tourists.

Entrance fee : 100 baht for foreigners

We really enjoyed ourselves here. Caught the bus bus from the buss depot, 25 baht each. Entrance another 100 baht each. We arrived around 8:30 am and it was already busy. We spent a little over two hours here before catching a Grab back to town. Amazing place to see, much like the blue temple the white color was unique and made this place stand out. We would recommend visiting.

Huge temple. The details of the architecture and statues are really beautiful. There's an entry fee into the temple. There's also a cave that you can enter with a small fee. You are not allowed to take picture inside the white temple, but do enjoy everything inside the temple. Its really beautiful. Also, do drop by at their toilet..its so clean and beautiful lol.

We went around 9.30am, perfect timing as it gets hotter by 10am, and more crowd arriving as well. Though it was a cooling breeze day, but the sun was shining bright as well ;)

The entrance to the temple is ฿100. It's recommended to come early because it's very popular with tourists and gets crowded. Once you start, observe the pond and you'll be blown away by the amount of detail and thought placed into the architecture. Do note that the direction of travel is in one direction, and one should not turn around. The temple is really something to marvel at, and every corner is a great photo spot. Be sure to grab a photo at the start where you can catch the reflection of the temple in the pond. Before leaving, drop by the toilet, especially for gents. I've never seen a male toilet in so much gold.
