Mangrove kayaking with Coco

Rarely you meet a man who truly loves what he does. Coco cares for animals, humans and environment alike. We had such an authentic experience! The kayaking experience was so cool! Challenging and fun! When we got back to the starting point at the restaurant there was a feast waiting for us. Probably one of the best days of my life ❤

We had the most amazing day with Coco! We started off kayaking through the mangrove forests, with a break for fresh fruit, and a swim in the sea. Then we were taken for lunch (which was included in the price), as well as opportunities to spot more wildlife along the way. A truly authentic experience and a brilliant last day for us on this island! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on this trip, one of my highlights of our time in Thailand. We just turned up at the restaurant mid morning and were able to go the same day on the tour, it was just me and my partner with Mr Coco and his colleague.
The kayaking experience was amazing, Mr Coco was so knowledgeable and answered our questions but also gave us time to appreciate the nature around us. We stopped for a snack, and afters went to the beach for a swim. He then took us to a local fishermans village, showed us the process of making rubber and even took us to his private look out point. At the end we had an amazing meal included in the price - we slept very well that night!
I really recommend this trip, Mr Coco says it only does groups up to 6 so it will not be busy. The kayaking is quite demanding but this was only my second time and I managed okay with Mr Cocos guidance.
Mr Coco also took some photos of us on his phone and airdropped them to us - what a bonus :D

Our experience was awesome, we enjoyed the kayaking and also the immersion in the Thai culture through the great explanations given by Coco. The food at the restaurant was delicious and seeing the monkeys in the forest was a nice surprise.

Mangrove kayaking with Uncle Coco was a very wholesome experience. We took a speedboat (400 baht/person one way) from Bangrong pier to Ko Yao Yai island pier. His package includes pickup & drop off from the Ko Yao Yai island pier, Kayaking, a small trek, lunch at his own restaurant as well as visit to the various scenic beaches on the island. His years of experience definitely shows and he makes you feel very comfortable when kayaking even as a first timer. The kayaking was around 40 mins long and we even spotted some monkeys! It was a very serene experience. The lunch was homely authentic Thai food. He also provides water and fruits. Uncle Coco also showed us some hidden gems around the island where we could capture some wonderful memories. A noteworthy location was a secluded beach all to ourselves. All in all, worth the visit and a must go when in Phuket!

My girlfriend and I enjoyed exploring the mangroves by kayak on Koh Yao Yao with Coco very much. Coco is from the island, speaks not only English very well but also some Italian and French. Coco is a very sympathetic dude who loves nature and is very knowledgable about the wildlife and the history of Koh Yao Yai. I can only recommend a tour with him! :) After he picked us up at our hotel in the morning we kayaked through the mangroves at northern yao yai for about 2 hours (Coco took some great photos of us), we took a break and shared a pineapple and cold drinks, then did some further kayaking and enjoyed lunch at his place (his wife cooked for us - food was great!). Ultimately Coco showed us his view point hut he built himself 10 years ago close to his house and explained to us how rubber was made from Kautchuk. During the tour we asked many questions about the island, its history and its people - Coco understood everything perfectly and took his time to answer and explain.

I think this trip is a hidden gem on Koh Yao Yai. Coco is a super engaged and kind guide and the trip around the mangrove is amazing. I really recommend doing this. It gives the best authentic and local feel that you are longing for when visiting tourist destinations like Thailand.

This was easily the best experience we had in Thailand. Better value than the other kayak trips offered on the island and so much more to see. We went into the mangroves where he put us completely at ease, with my fear of snakes I felt perfectly safe and even saw one from afar asleep in a tree but with Mr Coco it turned into a fantastic experience! We saw plenty of monkeys, monitor lizards and so much more - and went to the best beach on the island which we hadn’t discovered. And the amazing food too! You should absolutely take a trip with Mr Coco if you’d like to see the real island and get deep into the mangroves. Fantastic

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Coco was so friendly and spoke excellent English. He made the trip for us, it’s so nice to see a man who utterly loves his job.
He showed us spiders in his garden, walked us up to a view point and showed us how rubber is harvested from the trees. We then went out on a kayak trip through the mangroves, he was amazing at explaining everything to us. We saw monkeys, lizards, and a King Cobra! After the mangroves, Coco drove us to a beach to watch the sunset and swim. We had a short trip in the late afternoon because of low tide during the day but it was by far in a way the best experience we’ve had in Thailand, could not recommend more highly.

Auch a great trip with Coco! 100% recommended. He was a great Guide and the Food was very delicious.

What a wonderful adventurous day with a genuinely lovely beautiful man.
Anyone that travels to Koh yao yai and doesn't take the Kayaking trip with Coco through the mangrove is CRAZY (I repeat, CRAZY!)
We started off with a short hike to a beautiful viewpoint followed by a short demonstration how the rubber is harvested from the trees.
After this we jumped into the back of Coco's pickup and we took a drive down to the mangrove forest. We floated down the most beautiful waters I've seen and saw nature in the Raw. From the monkeys to the crabs, all under the protective eye of Coco. You can see that this man loves what he does and there's not much he doesn't know about the forest and what lives there, also how the whole ecosystem works. We even took a fruit break in the mangrove forest. After a few hours of this amazing experience we were once again back in the pickup heading towards the beach. We spent over an hour on the beach with Coco. Nothing at all during the day was rushed and he actually encouraged us to take longer doing what we wanted.
Once we were ready to leave the beach, Coco took us back to his restaurant for a complimentary feast where we were served multiple dishes all freshly cooked just for us followed by coffee and more intriguing conversations with the main man himself.
If for any reason we need a reason to visit Thailand again, Coco is it.
Please nobody miss this opportunity.

Uncle Coco was the perfekt tourguide - We were Only our family - mom, dad and our 2 kids. The trip in the mangrove was perfect, We Saw monkies, and feed Them fruit, Coco had fresh fruit, soft drinks and konumjak for us to drink and eat. He tok us to his view point, showed us the rummer trees and How the rubber was made ect. and We also had a delish vegan finner at the end af coco’s restaurant 🤩🤩🤩. We totaly recomend!!!

Best Tour Ever! Awesome Experience, very well organised. Coco awesome energy and love for nature makes from start to finish a magnificent time. Plus the food is unreal!

Coco is very funny. He knows his parents lands perfectly (I still don’t know how he can not being lost in the mangroves). He was also good English speaker and even some good expressions in French. Very nice days spent with him taking about the island history, what he created, what souvenir he made for us.

The 1-day tour with Coco is highly recommended. You will learn about the rubber production, see lizards and monkeys, do some great kayaking in the mangroves and have a nice swim afterwards and enjoy a delicious lunch.
Coco is a really nice and friendly guy who can explain you a lot. He speaks very good English and Italian.

I went on a Kayaktour with Coco! Would highly recommend to use a tour guide, since they know at what point during the tides schedule it's best to go in and out. Coco was an awesome guide. He is very knowledgeable, speaks great english and is a fun guy. He showed me the Mangrove forest and we even got to see some monkeys.

We discovered this tour on Google Maps by coincidence and continued our journey with nothing but great enthusiasm and gratitude for incredible impressions at the end of the day.

After contacting the guide via the chat function, who promptly responded in fluent english, the tour was customized to fit our available time. Not only were our requests accommodated flexibly, but the owner also arranged the transfer to our ferry afterward.
Coco picked us up in the morning, and the option to store luggage during the tour was beneficial for us as backpackers.

The tour exceeded our expectations, evolving from a 'simple' kayak tour through the mangroves to an unforgettable adventure through narrow rivers of the mangrove forrest. It included explanations about the area, mangroves, local culture,and included homemade pastries, delicious fruits, a freshly cooked lunch, a short excursion to observe lizards, some wild monkeys, a viewpoint overlooking the island, insights into rubber production
– all accompanied by the local guide Coco, a knowledgeable and humorous native. An extensive, impressive tour led by a knowledgeable, courteous, and humorous guide! Thank you

Coco is a great guide and the tour is worth all the money. I definitely recommend if you are into nature. Incredible experience. 10/10 Food at the restaurant was delicious. Coco’s vibe is awesome.
