Maybe the best meal we had on the island. Everything was fresh, tasty and a feast for the eyes. We didn't stay as guests but everyone is welcome in the gorgeous lounge/restaurant with a perfect sunset view. Bonus points for the cute kitty lounging along with us.

Such a peaceful and calming place surrounded by nature. You can tell it has been created with a lot of love. Staff was lovely as well and helped out with everything we needed. All the breakfast and dinner options we tried were really yummy and healthy. As mentioned by other reviewers, you might be visited by some adorable cars and dogs looking for cuddles :-) We thorougly enjoyed our time at Jaiyen Eco Resort and would love to come back some time! Note that Jaiyen is on the quieter side of the island, so your best way of getting around will be to rent a scooter (about 20 mins to get to the swimmable beaches).

If you are looking for a real place to relax and enjoy a not overcrowded and beautiful island , just don’t hesitate. The rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable. The staff is super helpful and will gladly help you get around the island,… this is a small resort which will feel like your second home as Jak said !

I had the most amazing time at Jaiyen! It’s perfect if you are looking for a place to relax and connect with nature, a quiet place on the lovely Koh Ya Noi island to recharge.
Absolutely beautiful ocean view and fantastic staff.

My fiancé and I stayed there right before the main season. We intentionally wanted to stay at a less developed, less touristy island and the Jaiyen Eco Resort was a dream come true.

The architecture, the way it has been structured, the main house to have breakfast at or enjoy a drink in the evening, served by Shela and Kevin, the couple that built all this and at the same time is your most welcoming and likable host is an unbelievable experience. We actually were the first guests of the season.

‘Jai yen‘— is Thai and means ‘calm heart’ and is the Basis fir the concept of Shela and Kevin: provide a calming environment for creatives to recharge.

They offered a scooter to rent (no charge) so that we could explore the island. It is so small that it does not take long to get everywhere and it was a true sense of freedom to take a step back and simply enjoy this beautiful, one-of-kind resort.

We were so happy that we stayed there in 2019.

The most beautiful spot on Koh Yao Noi ❤ Thank you so much, Som O, for being the most varm, kind and smiling host ever. We truly loved our 5 days in this paradise. The place, the interior, the cocoon and the infinity pool is all gordious. The staff is all very kind and breakfast tasted so god, and even better was the beautiful way it was served. We also loved the cocoons, the guitar, the yoga madress, the drawing table and we had the most beautiful view from our terasse. The children especially loved all the calm and sweet animals who hang around the resort and we just hope to come back some day. Thank you for an amazing experience 🙏

Wow, just….wow! Thank you Som O for being the perfect hostess at this marvelous piece of heaven. We were curious to see whether the pictures could do it's justice but it sure did, it's as wonderful as it seems. If you need a serene break from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Krabi, Phuket and Phi-Phi this is where you want to go. We're not hardcore anything but food, but these five days we spent non-meat, non-alcohol, non-sugar and wow it feels great. And although we had every meal for five days straight at the resort we never got sick of it, it's absolutely stunningly presented and finally a place where the taste goes along with the presentation too! Will definitely come back! PS: The beach is not a recommendation and hope you enjoy cats and dogs 'cause they'll be around you here, but they are just as calm and peaceful as you will be 😎

Som O is the greatest host you may found in Thailandia! In this beautiful island, we ended up being the only guests of the hotel, and the hosts were welcoming and kind, having prepared a full trip to James Bond island and giving us a scooter for 300 bath/day to explore the island. Som O even left us to the boat for the tour, went dropping us to the pier to go to Krabi and taught us to drive the scooter! The hotel has several free dogs and cats, they will come visit you and try ti sneak in your room so if you may don’t like it, advice the hosts. The view is breathtaking and the room (aka house) is gorgeous, well designed, they also prepared an electronic bike and a table to draw (the ones for the architects) if it is raining, yoga mats are in your big wardrobe room. Nothing else than: thank you for your kindness, we felt like at home ✨🙏🏻

Wow, looking back on our time traveling in Thailand, an absolute highlight was our unforgettable stay with Kevin and Shela at Jaiyen Resort. They have created a peaceful and gorgeous space that truly allowed us to relax. Whether it was sitting and stretching on the deck overlooking the water during sunset, dunking in the hot and cold tubs, soaking up sunshine in the infinity pool, or exploring the gardens, all of it felt so very calming. The bungalows were comfortably luxurious, spacious, wonderfully clean, and filled with attention to detail. We slept like absolute babies during our nights there, falling asleep to the ripple of the water. We appreciated the efforts Keven and Shela made to welcome us with open arms and big smiles, sharing their knowledge of the island, letting us use their scooter, building us a shade structure by the pool, and even preparing a fabulous dinner for us on our final evening with them. This would be a great place for one person, a couple, or a group of people to spend a couple days, a week, or even several weeks. We felt so lucky to be some of the first guests to stay at this incredible property and look forward to returning again in the future.

Set In the furthest corner of Koh Yao Noi, Jaiyen is a very cool place to relax and recharge. They offer a delicious (mostly) plant-based menu, and comfy seating in the communal area to read or play their many board games. The pool is small but perfectly formed, the mini gym is a cool addition, and there’s a sauna and steam room for those that like to sweat.

The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, and well cleaned daily.

Shela and Kevin had great advice on how to enjoy the island (3 or 4 days is enough), including bike hire to Chaba cafe and the nearby beach which was a cracking day trip. The beach opposite Jaiyen is not ideal for swimming, but the views and serenity are truly tropical.

Oh, and our kids said this was the best Eco hotel they’d ever stayed in. If they’re happy, I’m happy!

Perfect place to refresh your mind. It was totally different from all the places I visited before, from architecture to hospitality and food. Kevin and Shela , the hosts, are some great people, super friendly and open minded.

The resort is eco friendly made from a big percentage of bamboo wood, with big open spaces and a lot of light. In all the rooms you can find big drawing tables with materials accordingly: colorful pens, paper and inspirational books. I was really attracted by Stan’s Lee: How to draw comics.

I can say that I left the resort clear minded and relaxed 🙏🏼.

This place is an Oasis, not just because of the amenities and the gorgeous grounds, but because of the heart centered intention upon which the vision was built, and the extraordinary community of humans who are stewarding it.

I can still feel the gentle rocking of the warm ocean water cradling me during one of the most profoundly beautiful tropical sunsets I have ever witnessed in my many years of traveling the world.

The island is quiet and pristine. It doesn’t feel jaded like a lot of other places in Thailand. It has its purity intact.

The week I spent here allowed me to find deep relaxation in my body, mind and spirit and I left feeling refreshed and charged.

This place is special. Highly recommend for intimate retreats or just a getaway from all the noise. Plus you’ll be joining an epic tribe of dope humans who are changing the world by looking within!

Jaiyen promises much and delivers even more, though not quite as you would expect. The greatest treasure of the island is Kevin and Shela, two amazing souls who go out of their way to make a holiday exceptional. From the warm greeting at our arrival to the insanely wonderful Thai vegetarian dinners, we were cared for and nurtured just as promised. The individual cocoons lovingly created by Kevin gave us welcome time to be on our own and contemplate what 2020 means for us. The open plan common area provides a calm and welcoming spot together with the three Jaiyen cats King, Foo and Luna, who were definitely the best therapy cats around. If you’re looking for a prescriptive resort, this is not for you. If you are looking to chill, take some time out and enjoy gentle kindness and authentic hospitality - run don’t walk to Jaiyen! Kevin and Shela go out of their way to explain the wonders of Ko Yao Noi, and are happy to explain and organise all that the island has to offer. Nothing is too much trouble and their patience and kindness infuses the whole quality of the experience.

When you arrive, I recommend renting a scooter and visiting the nearby town and beaches, and Kevin and Shela will be happy to point you in the right direction. They will also organise cultural tours, fishing trips, massages and yoga, and anything else you can think of. We took a longboat out for a day of visiting nearby islands, which I highly recommend. There is a beach in front of Jaiyen which is good at high tide, but the other side of the island has sandier options for real beach lovers. You can rent kayaks, and we also hiked the nearby mountain to visit the island’s notorious “Big Tree”. We ate at Jaiyen which was delicious, as well as the French restaurant next door (the pesto pasta was good), and the Thai place two doors down offers really good authentic Thai food. We used the small outdoor gym on the property every day, which was perfectly adequate. After a week at the resort, we felt at home and rested.

Jaiyen means ‘calm heart’ and our experience was exactly that. We came away wishing we could stay longer and so thankful for the time we had had there together as a family.

This space is beyond amazing! I had one of the greatest solo travel experiences at this eco resort. I was overwhelmed with the sunset view, spacious pod with small details & equipments you could think of (like yoga blocks, mats, water tumbler) and had so much fun with 4 furry and lazy cats & Chip the dog! Will definitely return soon :) Thank you Kevin!

Brilliant eco resort run by Shela and Kevin - their hosting is warm and thoughtful. Stunning sunsets, excellent vegetarian food (but easy to order in seafood or Italian food from nearby restaurants), engaging company. Open air gym, infinity pool. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Sweeping views. Highly, highly recommended.

A true paradise, a safe space where I felt so comfortable to connect with myself, with the incredible, kind and open-hearted Artisia team working at Jaiyen and connect with the higher purpose I've set to accomplish in this life. I felt so peaceful and inspired as I fully integrated in nature, the land and the elements. The profound feeling of love, joy, and peace I've experienced during my month-long stay at Jaiyen is not describable in words, and I wish anyone could make a choice to experience it for themselves.

If you're looking for a chilled creative vibe, look no further! 3 blissful days at Jaiyen Resort was just what we needed. In addition to the beautiful scenery, amazing design & free-flow of creativity, your hosts Kevin and Shela will do absolutely anything to ensure your stay is special. Ideal for retreats, corporate get-aways or a special celebration. Looking forward to our next visit..

There are so many resorts in Thailand. And for the most part, they are comfortable, clean, with lovely staff and facilities. They are part of the typical Thailand holiday experience - and that's great for the majority of people. However, my friend and I aren't really the typical tourist experience type of people. We wanted something quieter, with less hustle, on an island that is a little more untouched, to see the raw beauty of Thailand.
On the stunning island of Koh Yao Noi we stayed at the newly created Jaiyen Eco Resort. We loved that it was so remote and situated on the side of the island away from tourists. The cocoons are aesthetically beautiful, clean and minimalistic, and have that feeling of being 'off the grid' without having to actually be completely cut off from society (just the right amount). Jai Yen means to have a 'calm heart' - and this is what this place did for us. It gave us a space to recharge, refresh and reconnect with ourselves and with nature. We really sensed the ethos of 'Connect. Create. Contribute.' and loved that the place was so environmentally conscious. They are connected to Trash Hero, a global volunteer movement bringing communities together to clean and reduce waste, and we were able to participate in a beach clean up through this organisation with 28 students and their teachers which was an amazing experience.
Jaiyen Eco Resort was exactly what we were looking for, and it exceeded our expectations. Our host, Kevin, was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us ideas about things we could do on the island and helped us organise day trips when we wanted to leave the island. A heads up, to see the rest of Koh Yao Noi you will need transportation. Taxis are available but trips start to add up, so you may want to hire scooters or a side car to get around. The food at Jaiyen was fantastic, all vegetarian and fresh, sourced from the local markets. The sea views are unmatched, as the ocean is just across the road. As it is a tropical island, this does come with bugs, geckos and frogs, as well as the occasional dog/cat that comes to visit.
This sort of holiday may not be for everyone, especially if you like crowds and want night life, however if you are after a unique and quieter Thailand experience, we would highly recommend Jaiyen Eco Resort.
