Kaya Restaurant

This place was a beautiful find. From the moment you walk in, it’s very clean and the ambience was nice. The highlights of our meal was the Papaya Salad and the Pad Thai. The salad was so fresh and the pad Thai was the best we’ve had in Thailand so far. The staff were also very lovely and attentive. Highly recommend you visit this place!

We ate here 2 nights in a row. The food is 10/10 and the ladies who run the restaurant are so kind and attentive. When we come back to the island we will definitely eat here again! Such good food. Thank you ladies 🙏🏻

Delicious Thai cuisine and wonderful service and atmosphere. Papaya salad was so fresh and tasty. The Pad Thai was so good, as was the Thai Basil Beef; just the right heat for us. Also great deserts, see photos

Service is amazing here. Food is amazing too! The restaurant is really clean and nicely decorated, noticed that the staff were not wearing shoes so we took off ours as well before entering, but other foreigners did not notice and wore their flip flops in. Be courteous and aware when visiting other countries... Back to the restaurant: Food is amazing here!! Prices seems reasonable and fair for this island, even on the cheaper side when comparing to tourist catered restaurants. We ordered a pad Thai with chicken and green curry with squid. Everything was well presented and tasted amazing, the best food we’ve had so far in Thailand! So fresh and well prepared! And the ladies working are so nice and sweet.

Very cute and cosy restaurant with a living-room feel and vibe. Staff is very friendly and the food is probably the best on the island.

Went twice! Was my husband’s favorite dinner pick on the island. Truly wonderful service, and authentic Thai food. For the island, this is also one of the better priced places. We had the pad Thai, papaya salad, local curry and green curry. I would recommend a visit! The restaurant is also very clean and inviting.

Really really great food, very good prices for the island. Wish we had gone more than once! They were also able to provide nut allergy safe food for my friend.

All staff were friendly, even though only 1 able to speak English. Attentive service. Very clean & homely decor with warm lighting for evening. Good food variety from Thai to western. Food presentation is nice & delicious. Wana try more food, will come back for breakfast/brunch tomorrow.

Came here because of an old review saying the massaman curry is excellent and they were not wrong! Possibly the best curry I have had so far in Thailand. I went around lunchtime and it was empty but the women there are lovely and the atmosphere is very calm. I’ll most likely be back over the course of my week stay!
I am not one for Google reviews but it was so good I’m writing this at the table having just finished!

The real beauty of this place is that you really feel like you were invited to a local person's home to eat. The food is local and fresh and authentic and their modest kitchen has several local women as chefs that cook for you as if you were at their home for dinner. Really loved this aspect of this restaurant. You could choose your level of spicy for most dishes and every dish I ate was made with care, attention to detail and perfectly done. I came back to this restaurant several times to try as many dishes as I could. I must say the mango and sticky rice was the best I have ever had. Loved their curries too, a real kitchen with true heart. Congratulations ladies, well done!

Koh Yao Noi actually has some really nice restaurants with some really nice food, we tried most of them but Kaya was the one we came to 4 times.
The Mango sticky rice is amazing, I don't have another one to compare with but now I am actually scared that when I eat Mango sticky rice again somewhere else, it just won't be as perfect as the one at Kaya.
The restaurant is really sweet, you feel so free in there. If you like you can put off your shoes before entering the eating area, that gives the whole dining a new feeling (if you are not already used to walking barefoot daily).
The people there are so nice, they come so fast and give you the menu, they bring drinking water for free and as soon as you drank like the half of your glass, they come and refill it.
The food there is delicious, you want to eat more and more and always come back.
The prices are also very good.
A big thank you and a lot of respect to the cook and her family.
We were actually sad to leave the island because we can't eat there again.

- Fried Rice with Beef: 4/5. Fine.

- Pad Thai: 5/5. Delicious.

- Mango Sticky Rice: 4/5. Not the best I had but still decent.

- Fried Banana (with honey): 5/5. Superb if you have a sweet tooth!

Best Massaman Curry I had in Thailand!

The food was perfect. The best fried vegetables with rice I've ever had in Thailand. The staff is so kind. I really recommend this place.

We visited here numerous times while on the island, the staff are really lovely and the food was amazing. Our meals were made fresh and served promptly, and we were always made to feel welcome. Free cold drinking water was served immediately which was also great in the heat. Also, the resturant area and toilet are very clean and modern.
