Food is simply unbelievable. Visited twice and I wish I had more time to return. This is by far my favorite eatery on the island, made with a lot of love and feeling. The mango sticky rice is one of the best I've ever had. Speaking of which, Mama Gob is awesome and she even went above and beyond to create a variation of the mango sticky rice on the spot when she had already run out of it.
The whole family is so kind and genuine and I really appreciate all the care they took of us. I strongly recommend and I wish we will be back soon to eat more of their AMAZING food.

Very yummy food and great friendly service. Went there twice during our stay for dinner and never had to wait for a table. Recommend ordering the spicy stir fry dish (4th picture)!

We spent 4 nights on Yao Noi and ate here every day! We tried a different dish on each visit and they were all amazing. The best priced and best tasting food on the island. The restaurant gets busy after sunset so be prepared for a little wait but it is well worth it for tasty food that is fresh and cooked to order!

The sea gypsy is a cozy restaurant right on the street on the west coast. The owner and staff are very warm and friendly. All special requests are catered for. Both breakfast and dinner are highly recommended and reasonably priced. The owner cooks here herself.

Very lovely lady served amazing tasting food, the location is cute.
I had the green mango salad, the Thai omlette, and an Iced green tea.
It is all very delicious and very affordable.

Family run restaurant with good food, nice atmosphere.
The Chef Gob is a nice lady who gives you dessert after meal.
You should know it’s only a lady cooking so it will take some time if there are a lot of people.

This place has lived up to its rave reviews. Had the massaman curry with fish, which had a rich bouquet of aromas and lightly spiced for western palates. Attention to detail and cutlery is superb. Best meal so far on the island!
I'll be back to try other of my Thai faves.

The food is very good. I am Thai and i went there with my dutch family. The restaurant can provide the taste you would like to have, either authentic thai taste (spicy and strong taste) or less authentic with less spicy style which also both very good. Good price compared to other restaurants on the island.

Going to Sea Gypsy is like going to Auntie's house for some good home cooking made with so much love! Proper feel-good food!

The dishes I've tried and recommend are the coconut curry, pad thai, pancakes, fried rice, the fried shrimp (very similar to popcorn shrimp), massaman curry and pretty much all the rest of the menu. The Auntie who owns the restaurant has a heart of gold, and is very accommodating 🤗❤

I find it to be one of the gems of Yao Noi!

Our absolute favourite restaurant on the island! Every dish was so flavourful and packed with fresh ingredients. Honestly the best green curry I have ever had in all of Thailand. This is a family run business and you can tell that they put so much love into their food and service. Plus the house red wine was great!!

This is a truly wonderful destination restaurant on many levels. The food is exquisite and the owner makes it clear she can add or subtract ingredients according to taste. Vegans and veggies need have no fear! I especially recommend the green mango salad which was complemented with generous sprigs of parsley! So delicious! The lady who runs the place is very kind and pleasant and likewise the rest of her team whom I imagine comprise her family. For me the added bonus is to eat one's meal facing a vista very reminiscent of Henri Rousseau's jungle paintings, I have in mind Tiger in a Tropical Storm sans the tiger obvs but in his stead so many tropical birds flying around. I saw herons and hornbills plus many other gaily painted birds of paradise while I ate peacefully. An incredible experience for someone from Croydon I do assure you. This place is excellent, there are several superb views in Tha Khao beach area but this has been my go to restaurant for early evening twitching!!!

Hade steamed fish with what i think was lime garlic sauce and it was so amazing( a bit on the smaller size portion ) but it was so good i took squid after same sauce 😂 but the fish was better, take a fried squid is better, also the masman was delicious!!!!!!
One more thing even the steamed rice is better then usual

Cute place by the ko Nok sandbar island. Good local Thai food and nice service . Great iced tea and tasty fried rice with unique presentation. Free drinking water for patrons. Outdoor covered seating with fan and complimentary mosquito spray as there are quite a few around . Ice Cold Chang beer in a cooler 60 baht. Reasonably priced ! Also given free sliced pineapple after our meal , nice surprise .

Great food, friendly, quiet little place. Chicken green curry was nice yes, but the cashew nut chicken was phenomenal! Papaya salad was fresh as! Serving of rice was cute!

It was the best green curry I ever had! Simple, mellow, as if something that my mom would have cooked.

The restaurant is run by two amicable ladies, everything is perfect here ❤

I kept going back and almost had all three meals a day in this restaurant. My morning started with the generous bowl of fruit in yoghurt, followed by the banana pancakes, amazing! And every evening I tried something new from the menu, they were all delicious 😋

By far one of my favourite restaurants, the food is very authentic, very cost affordable, and the atmosphere is so so nice. As for the mango coconut juice mix, insane.

The place is 10 out of 5 honestly. The service is super nice as well, we went there 3x in a row. Thats how great this place is.

First of all if you want alcohol this isn't the place for you.

If you want great food then read on. I was staying nearby and went past at the end of the day. The lighting caught my eye and as i went past i could see only one person sitting inside. I felt bad for them, so I went back.

I only had pad thai, but it was one of the best pad thai's ive ever had. Reasonable portion size and very tasty. Great service and the food came out quickly.

You don't always have to eat at big fancy restaurants or hotel restaurants to get good food and service.

Take a chance on smaller places: You might be pleasantly surprised.

My fav place during my one month stay in Ko Yao Noi. Mama Gob and her family are such lovely warm people that make you feel welcomed. Food is always cooked fresh and at a reasonable speed even when the place gets busy. I love the Fried Yellow Noodles and the Stir Fried Chicken and Cashew-nuts. They make good vegetarian options as well. They are an independent and small establishment so sometimes some ingredients or food items get sold out and are unavailable. Missing it already 2 weeks after leaving.

Great little find. Very unassuming and you have to be looking for the place to find it. The restaurant is set back a bit from the main road.

The food is inexpensive and extremely tasty. I was a little worried as this place doesn’t look like your finely polished resort restaurant, but it doesn’t matter in this case.

I ordered two dishes - fried shrimp in pepper and a chicken omelette. I was the only one at the restaurant. After I ordered, I could literally hear her in the back prepping all of the food. This meant that the food took a bit longer than some places, but it’s worth the wait.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and had a very “home-cooked” feel. The owner is the cook, and she certainly puts care into everything....the food and hospitality.

Give it a shot. It’s a nice little find.
