9 Hornbills Tented Camp

Absolutely stunning tents located on a hill with breathtaking views of the sea, secluded enough so you don’t see or hear anyone from your tent, but just a 2 minute drive to the sea/reception/restaurant (I highly recommend renting a scooter so you don’t have to call the reception to send you a golf cart every time you want to leave your room).
The tents feel really luxurious, with a wonderful private pool, humongous bed, inside and outside shower, and everything else you can imagine. The beach in front of the hotel is probably the best one on the island, not subject to high and low tide as much as the other ones. The only major area of improvement for this hotel is the restaurant, definitely not good quality food, and not a great choice for breakfast. All the rest was amazing!

Absolutly brilliant retreat to avoid the reality of too grown up busy Phuket. Slow life. Grest people. Great food. Tfue nature. Perfect beach and infinity pools and all facikities of ko ya noi resort down below included....what else ?

We had the most beautiful weekend staying at 9Hornbills. The views were incredible. Being able to walk out of your tent to watch the sun rise over islands is something that everyone should experience! My boyfriend thought that 9Hornbills was so beautiful that it was the perfect place to PROPOSE and I am so glad he did. 9Hornbills and Koh Yao Yai will hold a special place in our hearts.
We loved the tent - highlights definitely being the bath tub, the outdoor shower and having your own private pool.
The service was amazing from start to finish. Staff added flower arrangements to our tent after being told of our engagement and the manager, Caroline, was so welcoming and friendly - she was a delight to be around 🥰
We were so sad to be leaving and hope to be back soon ❤

I stayed for 2 nights with my wife and it was the perfect getaway, in fact we would have loved to stay longer if we didn't have to return to Bangkok.

Despite running on a reduced staff and some of the services being closed, it still felt like a very complete stay. None of the usual experiences were lacking. All the staff are very friendly and trained to a proper 5-star service; the property overall operates at a 5-star resort level. Not always a given even at luxury resort in Thailand unfortunately. Restaurants are closed for dining but they have made a very good effort to keep in-room dining open with a full selection and regular speed of service. Our package came with an evening dinner for 2 which was a Thai dinner and it was superb.

The villa itself is very spacious and the layout is great with different areas for lounging, resting and even working. All the usual amenities including a lovely bath and outdoor standing shower. The pool is the perfect size for a dip and stays cool all day long. A lot of open areas for sun bathing any time of day as well. The view is one of a kind, you're close enough to the water to feel like being on a beach but high enough to get a complete view of the bay. Great for the gram. We never made it to the beach actually, there was no reason to leave the villa except for a dinner outside.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a romantic relaxing getaway, we would for sure return.

The setting here is so serene and beautiful, at one with nature. The views over the karsts and bay are breath-taking and you never get tired of waking up to the panorama even when the weather is not the best. The tent accommodation is so cosy and comfortable, offering everything you need. The staff are all so lovely and attentive, and the food was utterly delicious.

Had an amazing stay and experience at the 9 hornbills. The entire experience was something I will never forget, the food is amazing as well as the accommodation.

Koh Yao Noi is an incredible island and I believe its one of my favourite islands in thailand and also the 9 hornbills is one if, if not the best place I have stayed.

The tents are genuinely luxurious with beautiful attention to detail. The views were breathtaking. I would have preferred more natural trees and lots more plants and places for wildlife in the grounds near the beach and near the villas but the mangroves were incredible. There was a walk through mangroves that you could do and it led to an amazing viewing platform. The staff were great - really sweet, helpful and professional. The free cocktails and minibar was a really lovely touch.

Incredible experience! This takes glamping to a whole new level. The tent itself was incredible, stunning sea views overlooking the Straits of Malacca. Private pool, room service and massages. You name it 9 hornbills has it.

This was absolutely a breathtaking experience! The view is incredible and the fact that you don't hear anything but nature is exactly what we came to the island for. The private pool in front of the tent is a blessing in the heat, even when it was raining we jumped in.
The resort 9 Hornbills is a part of (Koyao Island Resort) has a very good restaurant and a very nice big pool and private beach as well. We would absolutely love to go back here one day

Stayed with a group of seven here on a nice getaway vacation. The staff was very attentive, the views were to die for, and the tented villas were beautiful! I would highly recommend coming here. Not to mention, you can get your breakfast served floating in the pool! The value for the money is superb. Thank you!

Great views, even with all the rain we got. They just mixed our orders up a bit. But staff is very friendly and helpful. Private pool, but don't forget that you have the view, which means you aren't completely hidden from the world. It's just mice to wake up with breakfast in the pool and the sun enlightening your morning...

Great view from our tent, nice service, food taste and price are OKey. Clean and spacious tent that I stay, no mosquitoes or Flys disturb me. I enjoy sitting outside looking at gorgeous view listening several kind of bird sound including a hornbills.
One dispointed thing is they did not notice that it's My birthday vacation, no complimentary birthday cake, I normal got a small cake every year from 4-5 stars resort I stay on my birthday.

Amazing in all ways. The views and service stunning. We will be back.

I visited Koh Yao Noi for the first time in September with my girlfriend and having spent a lot of time researching where to stay - we found Koyao Island Resort (9 Hornbills). We were looking to get away from it all for a romantic getaway and this seemed like the perfect spot.

The Hornbills tented camp consists of 9 tents (each with private pool) over looking the limestone pillars towards Krabi. It really is bliss.

On arrival, we were greeted by the team at Koyao Island Resort and whisked up to our tented villa be a golf cart. The drive was quick and easy, only a short hop from the main resort, but it feels almost like a different world. Perched atop of a mountain, sounded by nature - no screaming kids, no stress - just pure relaxation.

If you really want to get away from it all and leave your troubles behind - 9 Hornbills is the spot. You really do feel an one with nature when living in these eco-friendly tents.

From the private pool, the complementary minibar, the amazing views - i truly didn't want to leave!

Stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon and loved it! Amazing view, felt very private, and the service was top notch.

The best resort i known until now. Breakfirst is good for selfie. Lunch and dinner in restaurant about 500m away (Hornbill tented is separated from main resort). You can hired motorbike at downhill reception and explore local restaurant and bars. Private pool but sometime curious neighbor can see you nude😊😋. They now expanding by new tents and a bar on the hill behind tent lines. It is good choice !

We had an amazing stay at the 9 Hornbills - the location is stunning and the service exceptional. As there are not so many guests during weekdays, we got the full VIP treatment - highly recommended!

We loved the light and romantic flair of the safari tent featuring a claw footed bathtub with view over phang nga bay. The staff was extremely attentive, yet highly respectful of our privacy.

Be aware of insects and worms just like any other tents. Still an excellent stay and service!
