Beautiful temple that was done up and restored in the late 50s, a little steeper at 120 baht (for two people one foreign one thai) to get in in comparison to other temples I've been to but we'll worth it as it gets you into more in the northern section also.

If you are in the area go visit Wat Si Chum. It is beautiful. The grounds are large with many areas to meditate, walk and rest. We went early about 7:00 a.m. (before the tourists) which made it even more special. 45 minutes of walking meditation and chanting next to the big Buddha was very peaceful. There is a cost to get in, however, because I was accompanying Buddhist Monks, I did not have to pay so I am unsure what the cost would have been. There is a pretty clean restroom at the entrance and some small shops with very kind owners/attendees. A great place to spend as many hours as you would like. Highly recommend.

Stunningly beautiful site. Serene atmosphere.

The majestic 200-year-old mango tree adds to the charm.

If you are in need of a coffee, the stall nearest to the car park entrance/exit serves an EXCELLENT espresso!

Countless times visiting this ancient temple. The most beautiful Buddha image I have seen. We used to be able to climb up behind the Buddha. There were 700+ years old painting (with strong bat manure odor) inside the wall (it’s double walls here with the stairs to climb up behind the Buddha head) that they want to preserve so they (finally) not letting us do the climbing any longer.

This temple is a classic. You should not miss it while visiting the ancient city.

It is beautiful and quiet photogenic with 200 years old wild Mango tree ,other than that nothing else to see. The Buda itself was restored so it wasn't the original but it is really beautiful if you care for this type of place you definitely must visit.

Amazing ruins that are still actively used for prayers and ceremonies. A large Buddha is located in a narrow room.

This was our first stop when we visited Sukhothai historical park. The statue is huge and alluring! When we visited the place, it was during the Loy Krathong so the entrance fees were waived.

Truly lovely lone Buddha. Please take your shoes off before entering to take photos and touch the fingers for luck (but don't stand or sit or climb, seriously!). Also be aware of other people who are actually worshiping in the tiny little space.

This temple has an interesting structure with a little hidden tunnel which is blocked now. There is a big Buddha inside surrounded by tall walls and you can hear echo inside as ppl talk. Recommend to visit by a bike tour.

The place is not big compared to other temples in Sukhothai. There are a lot of tourists visiting every day. The large Buddha in the middle of this place is called Phra Ajana. We can bring some flowers to pray to the Buddha. This place is also full of ancient architecture and a beautiful park which is great for a photo trip! Around the temple is some information about this place provided for the tourists.

Beautiful and amazing place, one of the most photographed places in the Sukhothai Historical Park. Went here just before sunset! To have the Big Seated Buddha image inside the temple! What a sight this is, when walking towards the temple daytime or evening, to see the massive seated Buddha through the slit in the specially designed mondrop. Even to me as a total foreigner, this place made me feel different somehow, sort of chills, it’s really hard to explain, but I honestly think there is something about this place! More than 11 meters wide and 15 meters high! Originally build approximately 700 years ago, the temple was reconstructed in the 1950s after it was in ruins.

Have been there many times for photo opportunities. Located in the north zone outside the walled city is the Wat Si Chum temple, known for its mondop with a large image of the Buddha partly visible from outside. The name of the temple translates to “temple of the Bodhi tree”.
