We had an amazing experience at this place! Some very unique menu items and cocktails (with a heavy emphasis on Thai rum) made the experience refreshing and delicious! This is not a place for tradition, it is modern takes on traditional dishes. So, other reviews having low scores may be thinking of the place in the wrong light. The creativity of this chef and the freshness of the ingredients he uses, made our experience one of the best meals we’ve had in Thailand after years of living here. And for the quality of the meal, the price was surprisingly low.

It's the second time. for this restaurant The atmosphere is good, the food is fusion, the decorations are modern and the food is very delicious. Anyone who comes to Udon Thani If you have a chance, I'd like you to try it.

First saw this recommendation from เสื้อร้องไห้ (Tiger cry) Channel and have been wanting to come and try whenever I’m in Udon Thani. Gotta say the food is beyond expectation. Its like a fine dine with affordable price. Highly recommended 👌🏻

The chef is bringing the local ancient Thai recipes to life with his own story in every dish and plate- and all of this while using local ingredients made completely organic.

We came to Thailand for our honeymoon, and after seeing the chef in a TV show, we decided to come to Udon Thani especially and specifically for this restaurant, and we could not anticipate such amazing dishes.

The entire flavour palate is full and balanced, and while Thai food is spicy- we discovered a whole new spectrum of flavours inside it.

Delicate and dedicated

High price per dish, but most of the ingredients they use here, produce here. I only order two dishes which the rice with grilled pork and the noodle. I would say that they have some extraordinary tastes in both dishes. I like that they’re concerned to give 2 flavors to balance out.

Champa flower on the table give at very pleasant atmosphere only when you sit on the table.

Chef Num does incredible, progressive Thai food out of a beautiful space in Udon Thani. I remember my first dining experience in early 2017 and I will continue to make the trip to Udon Thani for his extraordinary food. Last night I had the ten course tasting menu, each dish is nuanced and balanced, bringing local ingredients to the forefront. If I had to pick my favourite dish of the night, it would to be the "Grilled River prawn/Prawn head Jawe Bong". The delicacy of lychee coupled with an incredible jawe bong and the flavours of the grilled prawn - just beautiful.

Highly recommend you coming here if this sounds like your jam.

Here now. One of the top meals of the last 12 months. The duck eggs are unreal. Super friendly bunch of folks and relaxed ambiance with a bit of jazz in background. Love this place.

Chef Num takes you on a journey - using a selection of ingredients from across Thailand - but prepared with Isan mentality. I loved the way foraged, wild, and rare ingredients (especially vegetables and herbs) are used in the food, many of which come from small farms, picked wild on mountains and from villages. Excellent meal experience, and unique Thai Isan food you won't find anywhere else.

This is hands down the best food in Thailand!

The owner and the head chef both were born in the area, live in the area, and took the time to talk to me.

The following day, the head chef asked me if I wanted to accompany him and his assistant for a trip to the local market.

Good fusion northeastern thai cuisine. Very good quality and service. Clean and quiet place.

Impressive degustation menu elevating Isan food to notable levels. I did not expect to get fine dining like this in Udon Thani. This four year old restaurant is a definite gem.

The chef is really creative. Food are delicious. Staffs are well trained. They explain inspiration, ingredients before serving.

Very interesting and delicious dishes. Friendly and quick services. Thai chefs used to be working in USA and have come back to stay with mother.

Udon Thani is rapidly becoming the culinary capital of the North East. And Samuay & Son belong in the top for sure. Every dish is prepared with love and attention for delicious details. Sorry for the photos, dishes served looked and smelled so good that I could not wait to taste them. And by the time I thought about photos, it was too late. Oh, and even the water is delicious, subtly flavoured.
I'll be back for more!
