This picturesque outdoor museum is set on a river within a forest and contains a fantastic snapshot of a historic village. It includes everyday tools, toys, and beautifully preserved dwellings. Descriptions are provided in several languages. It was very easy to imagine yourself living in this village from all of the details provided. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and so did my 3 year old. I would definitely recommend visiting this little gem.

It's heaven. Firstly because of location which is next to the mountains and then the traditional Slovak homes. It takes you to the old times of Slovakia. It's very well maintained and price of the ticket is very cheap to see the whole museum area. Best thing is it's not flooded with tourists, very few people were there. A must place to visit in Slovakia.

Had a great time with kids at this place. Really cool items to see inside the homes. Well kept and clean. They even have local craftsmen selling their items. We bought few items and they all made it all the way to California without breaking, yay!

This place is amazing. We spent 2 hours there, read all information while walking around. Adult entrance is 4€, kids below 6y are for free. There was beautiful music in church. The river there is the cleanest I’ve seen in my entire life. This place has beautiful spirit. The time spent here was so worth it.

Wonderful place to be! You should take up to 4-5 hours to enjoy it all. There are many things to do, and see. You can also buy very nice hand made products and after eat the traditional slovak food in restaurant. There is also possibility to make own pottery and attend the concert in traditional wooden church. You can also see some animals there, and enjoy your time with family, friends or partner. Nearby is also cave, but you need to book the spot 1 day before arrival.

Very nice preserved traditional slovak village. Great for adults and kids. Some farm animals can be found there, which are the best amusement for the smallest kids. Worth of visit.

A wonderful place full of Slovak history. The location is just amazing, high up in the mountains, with clean air and crystal clear water. There are also live animals such as ducks, goose, sheep and donkeys, some of which you can feed and pet.

The place gives a good overview of the life 100-150 years ago in Slovakia. It is a time travel, really.

Probably the best open air museum. Great exhibition of history of housing in Orava region. Placed in wonderful nature. Opportunity to buy some handmade souvenirs in few shops inside houses or small 'market'. Recommendation: download the app (and data) in advance.
