Holíčsky zámok

Castle 🏰 in Holič. It is a castle created by the reconstruction of a medieval water castle. It was rebuilt into its present form after it was acquired in 1736 by František Lotrinský, which ranks it among the imperial residences. It was declared a national cultural monument in 1963.🇸🇰

Finally there are guided tours. Interesting even for small children. The tour is short because just few rooms are renovated. You can rent a boat and have a ride around castle.

Good access with car plus parking lot, cheap entry (2€/p), however almost whole place is one big ruin. On the lowest floor you Can find city museum plus cellars in the basement.

Strong experience. Holic is a beautiful castle, rebuilt in style of Habsburg mansions and castles. Extensive, beatiful grounds and gardens. However, it was ruefully neglected during socialism and after the fall of the Iron Curtain, when it was in private property, but not renovated at all. The municipality of Holic tries its best for the past twelve years, but it's a long run.

Nice walk around the castle

Oh what a beautiful, beautiful place. I realize I might be biased since I love old buildings, but this one really got me. It is so majestic, has beautiful scenery and must have been so beautiful in its time. Yes it is a pity no one takes care of it, but I kinda love that it is unkempt, it has more charm this way. I definitely want to come back.

The castle is one of Slovakia's hidden jewels. Beautiful surroundings and a huge history behind those walls. In addition, the staff deserves a special mention, doing a guided tour in English besides the one in Slovak. They are really helpful and friendly.

Very nice place to visit.
It offers walks in the areal and near garden with children playground.

Offered are also walk-in excursions inside the place.

In areal are also cafetery (opens 14:00) or winery.

Boat-rent is available according to meteorological conditions (if rain forecasted, no boat service).

Parking is avilable nearby, in 2019 free. It is about 30m walk to the entrance of castle areal.

A former water castle, used by Habsburgs, worthy to visit. Good cafeteria. Parking nearby.

The place is beautiful, beautiful and relaxing nature. A real pleasure for the family.

Visited during anual Historic festival and it was worth it, the castle is very nice and we had a great time.
