Although the upper castle is going through a major reconstruction, the grounds provide a nice walk with beautiful scenery and castle views. Tickets are half price because the upper part of the castle is closed. The 10 minute walk up the road is easy, or one can take a shortcut the appeared to be steep to reach the castle entrance.

Castle is huge. In My opinion it looks best from outside. At least currently as the most interesting upper part inside is closed due to renovation and hence the tickets are at 50% discount. The castle is very easily accessible by car. You can come with dog as well. Inside well equipped bar.

One of the largest castles in Central Europe 🏰
Stands beautifully on the hill. Unfortunately at this time you can’t visit the upper (and the biggest) part of the castle due to ongoing renovations. Hence the entry fee is half price.
But you can walk around on the surrounding walls and the massive garden.
You can also watch a few minutes of VR video for 50 cents. It’s worth it.
I’m looking forward to return when the renovations are complete.

Definitely a sight you have to see when you are travelling the High Tatras in Slovakia. Impressive castle complex and amazing photo spot.

Parking can be a bit tricky since there are not many spots available on the official parking lot. However, you can also park next to the street further down the hill.

There are bathrooms and a little shop available within the castle complex.

!!! Attention, July 2023: The inner part of the castle is currently under construction and cannot be accessed. Nonetheless, the castle is still worth a visit !!!

Beautiful castle visible from all around the place. I had some opportunity to find the 'famous' location from which probably the castle is photographed with Tatra mountains in the background, unfortunately there was overcast, so nothing to see properly :-) But view from the other side on the castle during sunrise was worth to photograph as well. And of course, the tour pn the castle itself is nice as well, but it is much better with less people around than it is with crowds. Like everywhere else.

What a beautiful castel. Currently uper castle is sadly closed, only middle and lower castle open, but still very impressive, also reduced ticket prices and free audio guide. If you arrive by bus follow the signs from the main square, the fastest and best way by foot is past the courtyard. By car there are two different parking lots. Definitely go up the hill next to the closer parking lot, from there magnificent view on the whole castle from the east.

Scenic views, parking available, part of the castle closed due to reconstruction. Offers nice walk in good weather.

This historic castle sits atop a hill that overlooks a large valley on all sides, with mountains in the distance. The castle was being restored when I visited, but much of it was still open, and the price was heavily discounted. I walked the grounds and on top of the perimeter wall and was able to get many pictures of the beautiful surrounding landscape. I highly recommend a visit here. The kids loved it as well.

Very impressive building, due to location, size, and age. Due to current work in the main structure, we were only able to tour the grounds outside the castle itself, walk around the passage on the upper walls and some outbuildings. Very well worth it, and will be even more so once the castle proper reopens!

Interesting visit, even though the inner castle was closed for repairs. The entrance fee was reduced by 50 % due to the repairs. We spent 2-3 hours in the castle.

Beautiful midievel castle located just off the main highway between Presov and Poprad. Free parking on site. Little walk up a hill, 5 minutes to enter the castle. Currently under renovation it's only 8 eur (50% discount). Can see basically just the outside area, a bug grassy plain and walk along the ramparts. Cafe, bathroom and souvenir on sites. Highly recommend.

Beautiful castle, but a big part of it is under renovation, so you can't go there.
But there is a lot of place to walk around it. :)
And there is beautiful animals in a field!

Visited the castle and was closed. Nobody is there. Drove up on snow roads. Fantastic view from far.

Amazing castle That you can see from everywhere in the surrounding valley.
We spend an hour or more inside.
The entrance cost 8€ per person.
You can climb to the top of the tower but be careful from the flying ants on the last floor.. This is no joke 🙈🦟🐜
The view from most of the castle is amazing and walking on the walls is very nice as well.
If you have some patience and you like animals there is plenty of ground squirrels on the grass.

It's a good place to go, there is an eterenc fee of 8€ for an adult and some stores (souvenirs, quick food ). And there's a VR excursion (cost 0,50€), that's special for this country

Magnificent, breathtaking and worth admiring. This location is for people who love history and art - you won't be treated like a typical tourist (charging for all acommodities). The parking is free, and even the bathrooms are free of charge. I hope this doesn't change soon. I kind of regret the upper levels were off limits due to renovations but hey....you can't have everything :)

It is UNESCO historical site with a spectacular medieval castle. It is situated on a hill. A large parking lot is at the feet of the hill. You need to climb along the way to the entrance to the castle. In the castle they offer a guided tour for 8 Euros. A shop and a bar are situated at the entrance. But at this time the tour is available only tor the lower part as the upper castle is being renovated.

Historical and nice caste, good for the family with the kids around 3yo. Big parking place under the castle. You can also eat there, but only few meals (typical for Slovak - cheese with chips but taste good, EUR 5)
I saw there also people with dogs on sightseeing tour.
